Hilton Fuzhou I am genuinely torn about writing this review. If a brand like Hilton performs at this level, I struggle to imagine where else one can comfortably stay in Fuzhou. For anyone with basic expectations around air quality and detailed hygiene, the experience here was disastrous—a textbook case of polite service paired with a complete inability to resolve issues. 1. Secondhand Smoke & HVAC Ventilation Issues * Uncontrolled Smoking: Smoking enforcement is a total failure. Floors 45 through 54 are virtually all compromised. Step out of the elevator on almost any floor, and you are hit with a thick, damp stench of stale cigarette smoke. * Flawed Ventilation & Layout: The hotel’s HVAC system and layout actually pull smoke from the hallways directly into the guest rooms. Running the air purifier and dehumidifier did little to help; the dehumidifier offered slight relief, but three full days of running it still left a musty, damp odor. Closing off the bedroom doors was the only way to isolate the smell, forcing me to sleep on the sofa in the small living area. The Executive Lounge floor was the only area where the air quality remained relatively stable. 2. Dust, Allergens & Inadequate Cleaning * Heavy Dust & Allergic Reactions: The drapes and carpeted areas in the bedroom were thick with dust. Merely touching or moving the curtains triggered intense coughing and skin irritation. * Surface-Level Housekeeping: Despite explicit requests to deep-vacuum and replace all linens, soft furnishings like the bedroom drapes were left untouched. The housekeeping staff seems to rely solely on standard disinfectant, lacking proper odor-neutralizing sprays or deep-cleaning equipment to tackle embedded smells. Summary: While the staff members are polite, waiting hours for a room change resolved nothing, as the core issues persisted throughout my three-night stay. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone sensitive to smoke, dust, or severe air quality issues.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this Hilton and would happily stay here again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are huge, spotlessly clean, and surprisingly quiet. I slept incredibly well. The breakfast was also excellent, with a great variety of choices and everything fresh and well presented. I gave 5 stars overall, but 4 stars for service—and let me explain why, because it's actually a funny story rather than a complaint. One evening I called the reception because my shower gel bottle was almost empty. A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door... and standing there was a lovely older Chinese gentleman carrying a toolbox! 😄 He didn't speak English, which was absolutely fine, and with our universal sign language I managed to explain that I wasn't looking for a plumber—I was simply hoping for a full bottle of shower gel. We both had a good laugh, he immediately brought me a new bottle, and since he was already in the room, I thought, "Well... while you're here..." 😄 I showed him the small handheld shower in the bathtub that was a little loose. He fixed it in no time, so not only did he help me, but he probably helped the next guests too! That little story actually says a lot about the staff. They genuinely want to help and will do everything they can for their guests. My only suggestion would be to improve English communication at the front desk. I believe the receptionist simply misunderstood what I needed. With slightly stronger English skills, this would easily have been a perfect 5-star service experience. One more observation: Fuzhou is a city of nearly 9 million people, yet it still doesn't seem to receive as many international tourists as some other Chinese cities. I noticed this while exploring Google Maps—it wasn't always easy to find cafés or restaurants unless they were well-known historical places. Because of that, I completely understand why English isn't used as often here. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay. Comfortable, clean, quiet, excellent breakfast, wonderful staff with big hearts, and one funny "toolbox vs. shower gel" story that made my trip even more memorable. Thank you for your hospitality!
The overall experience with the hotel is satisfying. The staffs are professional and helpful. Highly recommended.
Not really a 5 stars hotel- cleanliness of the rooms and sheets and all are not the best (or can say not good) . Staff is nice. Location is very good with park close to the river, few mins walking from the hotel. High floors with a very beautiful review. A nice food and variety of food on breakfast. But still I didn't like that its not clean and there are some bad smells in the room, on the way to the room, bathroom not clean, sheets are not clean
Our family of five spent 9 nights here this summer, and we truly had a wonderful stay. We had two rooms, both spotless and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to keep our rooms close together, which meant a lot to us. The location couldn’t be better—it’s perfect for trying local food and is just a short walk to many of the main attractions. We made so many great memories here and can’t wait to come back next summer!
