The hotel is situated in the middle of two subway stations, 15min away from either one. Hangzhou Center and Hangzhou Tower are located near the Wulin Square Subway Station where you can find big chain restaurants and food streets. The hotel staff provided a good service which made our stay enjoyable despite the dated room. Housekeeping is very detailed. The concierge is very organized and I was able to get all my parcels promptly. The variety for breakfast can improved in order to match the price. The service at the executive lounge was good except that the food and drinks variety can be better? Perhaps the lounge needs expansion as it gets very crowded even on weekdays.
No upgrade to suite for Titanium Elite, just a higher floor room. Breakfast included. Lady at the noodle counter is weird, didn’t allow me to take food photos but I ignored her. On the last day they sent us to JW Marriott for breakfast and the things there are noticeably fresher. Even the coriander is greener and the other side looks “dead”. Well it’s cheaper by RMB 300 per night so won’t complain. Other than that. It is convenient location, clean room, good to stay kinda place to just shower and sleep. It’s connected to JW Marriott so I assume it’s the same management too
Like it's not bad, but my specific room had a full ceiling-to-floor window view of the bathroom from the bed area, covered only by a curtain. The bathroom door did not lock properly either. You get a decent view into the office building nearby. Personally, I didn't like that the room floors aren't carpeted, yet the hallway is carpeted. The best thing about the hotel is its location. It's barely 500 meters away from one of the best restaurants (owned by a young man and who I assume is his mom) I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. It's delicious, cheap, and halal, and everything I ate there was worth it 1000%. It's also not too far from the train station, so taxiing there is not too expensive.
There are a few glaring problems with this hotel, which are not mitigated by its better qualities. The first is that the rooms were very dated when we arrived, although the public areas were better (but there's not many public areas if you don't have at least platinum status). The rooms were rather on the smaller side as well, or at least they felt constricting (due partly due to a lack of adequate lighting). The second is the fact that you feel immediately like a second class citizen. This Courtyard is located right next to JW Marriott's, and rather than making a separate entrance, the Courtyard's entrance is presented like a small side entrance to the higher class hotel, which is not an ideal first impression. Every time you enter and exit, this presents itself to you again. The third is that the rooms from the Courtyard look directly into the JW Marriott rooms on the adjoining side, and its quite easy to see how there may be privacy issues if you're not drawing your blinds closed at all times. There's no film on the windows to prevent lights from escaping during the day. However, what this hotel has going for it are its excellent location and immaculate cleaning staff. The cleaning staff here did the best job of any hotel I've ever been too, which was impressive. The location is near the West Lake (actually quite walkable) and a good range of shops and restaurants nearby. Transit options are also not terrible. However, I don't think I'll stay here again.
