china really needs to step up in these luxury hotels. very dated hotel with poorly trained staff. the rooms are underwhelming and one of the days they left the floor wet and there was so much dirt wiping it with a towel. the breakfast food all tastes like it’s reheated frozen food. the one positive was a nice a concierge named riti that was very helpful! the spa experience was not worth the price as the masseuse was late and the whole thing felt mediocre at best. coming from four seasons, the price they charge for this resort and the product they offer is an outrage and will probably stop me from trying other banyan trees in the world.
Great place to do a final stop, very peaceful location, the spa is absolutely amazing. Cannot recommend the massage therapist and then spa treatments enough! I love my stay here because it was just so relaxing to hear the sounds of birds and trees and even during the rain this place was magical. The pool and Jacuzzi are also heated so that’s nice for cold days. The hotel also has bikes available that you can take to the nearby park and go for a bike ride. And the property is within the national park so it’s really nice to just walk around bike around and soak in the nature. Also, I must add that the breakfast is really amazing. Lots of options if you need no non-dairy and vegetarian alternatives.
You come here to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You are transported into an area where nature and serenity is abundant. The service and care are top notch as expected at the banyan tree. Overall you come here to escape for a peaceful and zen like time.
We had a night stay at Banyan Tree Spa Xixi Wetland Hangzhou. I love the place so much! Stay was awesome! Room is big!
Staff are friendly and helpful. I would think the service staff made a lot of difference!
Though it is quite a distance away from City Center, it is quite easy to get a car from app. Morning breakfast had a good spread!
I rarely write reviews. It's so seldom, I believe this may even be my first Google review. The exceptions are far and in between, purposefully so. To give Banyan Tree a 5-star rating, without sharing the experience, would do injustice to the incredible time my girlfriend and I had at the hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth by every single staff member. Checking in was a breeze, and we were even greeted by the most stunning of sunsets as we overlooked the hotel's entrance bridge; the pagoda sitting in the far distance. We were instantly transported to a different time and place.
Often times, the advertised pictures of your hotel room embellish what the room looks like. Somehow, the room was even better than the photographs. Our "room" was a villa in every sense of the word. We didn't have one bathtub. We had two. One in our immense bathroom, the other in our bedroom.
We had an issue with the piping, which we reported to the staff the following day. They were so attentive and understanding that they extended our stay, free of charge. And so, we were moved to another, equally stunning, room. From offering complementary wine and fruit, to speaking to us about Hangzhou, and giving tips; it was truly the most well-serviced hotel I've ever had the privilege of staying at. Frank and Jennifer are two staff members I want to particularly commend, for facilitating this one-in-a-lifetime experience. My girlfriend and I are still euphoric from our time in Hangzhou, and I have a suspicion we'll be back sooner than later. Partly because it's a stunning city, largely because of the hotel service and staff.
