Very good hotel, very clean and classy. Very good breakfast. Miss Bianca at the reception is very professional. City is very unsafe in the evening, to go out take uber / Taxi and avoid to walk alone or with expensive bags or watches.

I would like to say a special thanks to Daniel Koch, who was ver lovely and very helpful during our stay. This is what you call "hospital" stuff: they care, they remember. I needed vegan breakfast and he cared to remember me and after the first morning I didn't have to ask for it anymore! Otherwise, a great hotel! Expensive, of course, but it's worth it. Really like the option to cancel the cleaning and get free drinks instead! Good for the planet and good for me. It's a win-win! Beds are comfortable, shower essentials smell great. They just lack a modern TV to connect it to Netflix/etc. it is quite street and our windows were onto the yard, so all we could hear was birds! Location is great too. Just few minutes away from the huge park, two grocery stores around, several restaurants, two bus stops, and a bit further an S-Bahn stop.
Traveling alone for vacation and this location is perfect! The accommodations were really nice quality. There are several grocery stores nearby, and the location makes it easy to walk anywhere in the city for tourist sites. It’s also close to several transit stops- taking the train to the airport or main train station was a breeze. I attended several local markets and shows while in town and ever required a car. Views from my room were very nice as I had trees right outside of my window.
I had a very pleasant overnight stay at the Lindner Hotel in Hamburg. The staff were genuinely outstanding — always friendly, helpful, and very understanding, which made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The service had that rare combination of professionalism and warmth that really stands out. The room was perfectly suited for a one-night stay: comfortable, clean, and practical, with everything I needed for a short visit. One thing to note is that the bathroom/restroom area in my room was open to the bedroom rather than fully separated by walls, which may not suit everyone, but for an overnight stay it was still fine and manageable. Breakfast was solid and exactly what you would expect from a good German hotel — a standard continental and German breakfast selection with bread, cold cuts, cheese, eggs, and the usual fresh basics. Nothing extravagant, but good quality and enough variety to start the day well. Underground parking was available for 30 euros per night, which was convenient and made arriving by car very straightforward. Overall, Lindner Hamburg is a reliable and comfortable choice, especially for a short stay, with excellent staff and a very easy hotel experience. Plus the Harbour is just 15mins away by foot.
How is this hotel rated so high? I am not sure.. it’s a very decent average hotel, with some shortcomings. I stayed here as a Globalist. When I arrived I was told you have been upgraded to a nice room on the 7th floor. Sounds nice right? Nah the room faces the inner atrium so there was nothing 7th floor view about it and certainly not an upgrade. I am OK without an upgrade, but don’t like to me that it’s an upgrade when it’s not. Breakfast is extensive but lacking vegetarian options. Only one morning there was potatoes which is usually a basic component of breakfast. They only had regular coffee in the machine, no decaf and no chocolate. The omelette guy was really nice though. The bed is very soft and plush, but the type that can use a bit more firmness as the mattress almost caves in when you sit on it. One day I turned down housekeeping. You would think they would still come by to just offer water and take garbage, as I don’t need linen or towels changed or room cleaned, but basics should still be provided.. Location is about 10 minutes walk from a train station so it’s reasonably convenient but not the most exciting or happening area. Internet WiFi is quite bad in the hotel. It keeps going in and out and frequent blackouts on the internet signal. This hotel is OK, but it’s certainly not a 5 star type of experience.
