Located in Hamburg-St. Georg, just 492 feet away from the Alster Lake, Hotel Wedina offers urban design. The individually designed rooms at the Hotel Wedina an der Alster are located in 4 color-themed buildings (red, blue, green and yellow) and exude a love for literature. All rooms include free WiFi, wooden floors, a safe and a private bathroom with a hairdryer and a bathtub or shower. The red building contains the house library with works of over 300 contemporary writers. The blue house contains 14 authors' rooms. The green house features avant-garde architecture and books around the topic green. The yellow house houses Hamburg literature. A fresh breakfast buffet with bread from the local baker is served every morning at the hotel. Drinks and snacks are available in the "ZeitBar".Free WiFi and a selection of daily newspapers are also available. Hamburg Main Train Station is an 8-minute walk from Hotel Wedina an der Alster, and there are many theaters and museums within walking distance. Bicycles can also be hired at the hotel reception.

We stayed at Wedina Hotel from December 18 to 26, but unfortunately had to leave within 2 days due to my father’s health condition. Despite this situation, we did not receive any understanding or support from the staff, and we were treated quite poorly.
Even though we had to leave early for medical reasons, we were still charged for the full 9 nights, and no assistance or flexibility was offered at all.
Aside from the location, the hotel did not match the photos shown online. The room had a very unpleasant view facing what can only be described as a disturbing courtyard.

The Wedina Hotel should not be preferred under any circumstances. The actual hotel rooms do not match the photos provided at all. The rooms are extremely small, there are awkward and impractical stairs, and the room overlooks a very unpleasant courtyard. It is also not suitable for guests with disabilities.
In addition, I experienced a serious health issue (gallbladder colic) and had to urgently return to Turkey. Despite this, they charged me for the full 9-day stay and did not offer any assistance, even in such a critical situation. Their attitude was very poor.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
A super hotel. Friendly and helpful staff both at front desk and in the bar/restaurant. The rooms are quiet, clean and a good size, with comfortable beds. The style of the hotel, from my understanding, is simple and sophisticated. Beautiful use of natural materials throughout the hotel and attention to detail. I will happily stay again and recommend this accommodation to friends.
This hotel is a gem. The atmosphere is very tranquil. Staff was very helpful and made me feel so welcome on my long trip. I can highly recommend and I will stay here next time.
Very noisy room facing the street. No attempt at all for safety in shower stall—no rails to hold on, slippery floor.
No coffee in room. Water bottle given only on arrival. Less than fully gracious or helpful when my luggage was lost. Must pay for entire stay upon arrival.
No AC, no fan.
Lack of personal graciousness for a small, arty, boutique hotel. Not recommended.
