Hotel Du Nord

Our stay was the highlight of our vacation. Tranquil setting and wonderful breakfast buffet. Easy access to lots of great restaurants as well as the Volksdorf station putting all of Hamburg in easy reach. Staff was consistently courteous and helpful. Highly recommend. They provided air conditioners upon request which was critical during the recent heat wave in Europe.

I am the business manager of an AI company with a partnership in the new fiber optic network in Germany. For several years, we have accommodated our staff at Hotel Du Nord. However, our team has reported ongoing difficulties in communication with the cleaning staff, who do not speak either German or English. In many situations, our employees are forced to rely on tools such as Google Translate in order to communicate basic needs, which is not an appropriate or efficient solution. It is also important to mention that this is the same cleaning staff we have seen for years, and the language barrier remains unchanged. This reflects a lack of improvement and negatively affects the quality of service. In some cases, when assistance is needed in the room, our employees are required to go all the way to reception to request support, which is not efficient. Additionally, we have experienced poor service and rude behavior from an Italian woman working in the breakfast area, who also does not speak German or English and responds in a dismissive manner when someone requests something as simple as tea. We would like to clarify that we have not experienced any issues with the reception staff. Out of respect for my company and the well-being of our employees, we will be looking for alternative accommodation options for future stays. We hope you can improve and provide better training for your staff, particularly in customer service. We would also like to emphasize that we have no complaints regarding the price or location.

I would like to say that the place is very quiet and peaceful. On several occasions, the company I work for—based in Hamburg with operations in China—has accommodated me in this hotel. However, I must mention that I had a bad experience during breakfast. One Italian staff member was very rude, and there was another staff member who did not speak either English or German, which made communication difficult. I believe that it would be very beneficial for such a quiet and pleasant hotel to improve the quality of service provided by its staff, especially in the breakfast area. Thank you very much

We booked a room for two adults and two children for 3 nights in summer. The room was spacious and clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, even providing us with an air conditioner to cool down our room in the summer heat. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor that serves good food at all times of the day. For breakfast the selection was rich, and all of us, even our children, found something we enjoyed. We loved our stay at the Hotel du Nord in Volksdorf, and would love to come back.
