This hotel was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. Our reservation was from June 26 to June 28. On the day of our check-out, I made the mistake of paying with a different credit card instead of the one I had used to make the reservation. The hotel staff assured me that the amount held on the original credit card would be refunded promptly. Today, July 11, I am still waiting for that refund. I have contacted the hotel several times, but despite my repeated requests, I have neither received my money nor a clear explanation for the delay. It is unacceptable that a hotel makes promises it does not keep and forces its guests to chase their own money for weeks. This situation has caused us a great deal of frustration and has completely undermined our trust in the hotel’s service. I expect the hotel to process the refund immediately without any further delays. Unfortunately, after this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Wonderful stay once again at the Atlantic. Service is top! Rooms are nice, spacious and bed so comfy. I stayed during heatwave and AC was functioning well 🙏🏼 Breakfast buffet had a lot of choices and also offers à la carte sweet and savoury dishes - exquisite! Thank you to the team for the pleasant stay and the warm welcome back 😊
We chose the Atlantic Hotel for its location and comfort, and we are very glad we did. Even though we stayed for only one night, we felt very comfortable and truly enjoyed our stay. Everything a guest might need had been thoughtfully provided in the rooms. We would like to sincerely thank the management and all the staff for their attention and hospitality. We look forward to staying with you for a longer period during our next visit to Hamburg.
Awesome service, room (renovated with lake view) and throughput feeling of this old magnificent Grand Hotel. It's just like you want it but even better, and they have that feeling for details that makes it a really nice choice of hotel. Hamburg on the other hand ....what a dissapointment. So stay here if you really have to visit Hamburg.
I stayed here with my mother in March 2025 for a 5-night stay, and while there were positive elements, the experience has shifted 180 degrees since the transition from Kempinski to Marriott. You can really tell the difference in the service standards. The Room: On the plus side, the beds were incredibly comfortable and the shower was excellent. However, we were placed in one of the older rooms which was in poor shape—stained walls and broken furniture. We didn’t request a move as we weren't in the room much, but it was surprising that a room in this condition was assigned to guests. The Property & Accessibility: The hotel was under heavy construction during our stay. With no pool access and significant work being done outside, it was quite difficult for my mother to walk around the exterior. The Service: The "five-star" service that used to be a staple here is missing. For example, the bellboys didn't assist with taxi doors upon our arrival or departure, which gave the stay a much more "three-star" feel. Highlights: • The Bar: A fantastic experience with top-notch staff. • The Interior: Still absolutely gorgeous. • The Location: Excellent for getting around. Overall, while the staff at the bar were wonderful and the interior is beautiful, the room condition and lack of basic 5-star service made this a 3-star experience for us.
