Very, very loud toilets that you can hear throughout the hotel like a rumbling lorry approaching. Unless you tell people not to use them at night, I can't see what you can do to remedy this. The staff were on the whole very friendly. The cleaning staff I met in the corridors were really friendly.. The bedside light was a bit of a conundrum and on the first night I got out of bed to turn the light off.Perhaps some advice for people who don't regularly stay in hotels would be useful.

We booked a street-view room, but were given a room facing the inner courtyard instead. As a result, we had to keep the curtains closed throughout the day, which made the already rather dark room feel even smaller and less comfortable. The room itself was clean and tidy, and the check-in staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, given the high price of the room, the value for money was extremely poor. Overall, we expected much more for what we paid.
I wouldn’t recommend this place even though newly redone. The sewage system is VERY loud. (Probably due to being on the wharf. No A/C. Fan provided put on top shelf. You have to get on a chair to get it which isn’t practical at all. Windows on interior open but absolutely no privacy. Doors don’t have key cards so you have to make sure you don’t loose your code which is on a piece of paper. Bed is big but room is very tight. You only have room for carry on style suitcase. So I you are two people it’s not comfortable to move around… The rooftop bar / public space although beautiful view is not very accommodating for hotel guests. We had to wait over 20 minutes to receive a menu. Were were ignored. We saw other guests receive menus as soon as they walked in. Once we went to the bar to order beer we had some specific juice - i had a cold - that was made for us earlier that day and we wanted to finish it. We were told we could not drink it in the most rude of ways. The cleaning staff were very kind.
I really love the architecture of Hotel GINN Hamburg. The online check-in system is modern and super convenient. The breakfast terrace on the 8th floor is simply amazing! The bed linen is wonderfully comfortable, everything is spotlessly clean, and the motion-sensor lighting in the bathroom is a really cool touch. The view is fantastic. I enjoy watching the lively river traffic—it always makes the scenery feel alive. Even walking barefoot on the room’s floor feels pleasant. Although my room was only 19 m², the clever design made it feel more like a spacious 70 m². Perfect for spending a few nights. 🙂🫶🏾
My stay at this hotel was not satisfactory at all. The level of cleanliness in the room was well below my expectations and fell short of standard hotel conditions. The room key card worked only for one day and then stopped functioning. Instead of properly addressing the issue, I was given a physical key, which, in my opinion, is not a suitable solution for a professional hotel and made the overall experience more disappointing. Overall, the hotel did not meet my initial expectations, and based on this experience, I am unlikely to choose it again.
