During our three-night stay, what should have been the happiest trip of our lives was completely ruined by appalling, direct homophobic behaviour from the director, Ronald. It is standard practice on board to mark special occasions such as honeymoons, birthdays, or anniversaries at dinner with a specially dressed table, a celebratory cake, and a song from the team. Despite staying for three nights to for our honeymoon we were completely denied this acknowledgement. What transpired was sickening: Ronald deliberately withheld this gesture to avoid "upsetting" or "offending" other guests who do not believe in gay marriage. Compounding this prejudice, he repeatedly urged us to take both our breakfasts and dinners isolated in our room. While we persistently refused, we were initially bewildered by his pressure until the painful truth became clear: he actively sought to hide us away from the other passengers. To say that our honeymoon was utterly ruined is a profound understatement; we were left feeling deeply humiliated, invalidated, and distressed. Alongside this disgraceful discrimination, the boat itself is in a state of disrepair and urgently needs to be closed for total redecoration and finishing: Unfinished and Peeling Paint: The walls are left half-painted, and paint was actively flaking and falling off the ceiling inside our room. Basic Utilities Deprivation: We were subjected to a total lack of hot water on a daily basis. Ignored Maintenance Issues: Our bathroom had an active leak which we immediately reported, only for it to be completely ignored by management. No paying guest and certainly no newlyweds should ever be subjected to such blatant bigotry or forced to endure such unacceptable, deteriorating conditions.
They say you get what you pay for. Well this was a whole lot more. Cannot complain about anything other than should have done a two night cruise. Thanks to the team for letting us take over the music on the night. Cheers to Ronald, Smarley, Kay and the rest of the crew.
I had such a wonderful and memorable experience with Celine Yacht in Ha Long Bay! From the beautiful scenery to the excellent service, everything was well organized and made the trip truly enjoyable. A special thank you to Mr. Ocampo, who was a very good and attentive manager. His professionalism, warm personality, and the way he made sure everything was running smoothly really stood out. I would also like to sincerely thank Ms. Le for assisting me She was very helpful, kind, and attentive to my needs, which made me feel well taken care of and to Ms. Sunnie as well for her wonderful assistance and friendly service. Everyone made me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout the journey. The staff were friendly, the service was excellent, the food was enjoyable, and Ha Long Bay itself was absolutely breathtaking. 🌊✨ Thank you to the entire Celine Yacht team for making my Ha Long Bay experience so special and memorable. I truly appreciate all your hard work and hospitality. I would definitely recommend Celine Yacht to anyone visiting Ha Long Bay! ❤️🇻🇳 Thank you, Mr. Ocampo, Ms. Le, Ms. Sunnie, and the whole team! You made my trip even more enjoyable.
Celina of the Seas cruise was very good. It is the same company as Velor of the Seas, with similar looking boats. The itinerary is good with lots of activities. We actually did the 3D2N cruise and were glad we did. Rooms are lovely, with a jacuzzi bath looking out to sea and a balcony. However, the balconies don't have a proper division and so people are able to (but morally shouldn't) easily walk onto your balcony and just outside your room, so just make sure when you are not on the balcony to lock the outside door. Food was really good. It is buffet style with a mixture of traditional food and some options for fussy eaters, like pasta and cheese pizza. I have a severe nut allergy so was quite worried about the food situation before the cruise, but as soon as it came to meal time I spoke with Van Dinh and he was excellent, he talked me through every dish to let me know what was safe, and would check with the chef if he wasn't sure. Fantastic service from him. It was also my birthday while on this cruise and Ronald the manager arranged for our dinner table to be decorated and we got a free cake which was lovely. On the 3 day tour, you go on a different boat for day two to do some activities for a few hours, the activities were good but the food was very seafood based and although I told them of my allergies and they told me there was no nuts, they still brought peanuts to our table. The dishes are to share with your table so I didn't really feel safe eating on this alternative boat as the risk of the nuts touching the other food was very high. The pool is small and families come on this cruise so tend to have shouting and crying children so we didn't really use the pool for this reason. There is one hour happy hour where you buy two drinks and get a third for free. I think it was close to £20 for the 3 cocktails we had during happy hour. Overall, would recommend this cruise, especially for those with nut allergies. You'll be okay for the 2D1N as all meals are on the Celina, if doing 3D2N, maybe bring some food with you to eat on the 2nd day for lunch.
It's a similar experience like in 1 star hotel. Low quality buffet. Breakfast without coffee, cheese, bread... Mostly hot local food. The small boat that takes you to the main boat for 45 minutes has no air conditioning. It's cost less than others but it was a big mistake that ruined our vexation
We did the 2 nights and 3 days, Celina was the newish boats out there she was outstanding, but better still were her staff, so friendly and helpful, Food was very good but they always seemed worried I was still hungry and offering to cook me more food. This is definitely the boat to be on.
We booked this cruise because we really wanted to pamper ourselves and were looking for a luxury experience in Ha Long Bay. Therefore, we happily paid almost €400 for two people for one night. That is also a considerable amount by European standards for one night, let alone in Vietnam. Our expectations were therefore high. To start with the positive: the room was beautiful. The view over Ha Long Bay was stunning, both from the bed, from the balcony, and from the bathroom. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was quite disappointing for us. The transfer and arrival According to the schedule, we would be taken to the cruise ship by a speedboat. In practice, this was, in our experience, a fairly standard transfer boat. That shouldn't be a problem in itself, but it creates different expectations when a speedboat is announced beforehand. During the transfer, information was given over the cruise, safety measures, and other practical matters via a loudspeaker. The information was well-intentioned, but due to the poor comprehensibility, it was difficult to follow everything. The tour itself was beautiful and gave us a nice impression of Ha Long Bay. Upon arrival on the relatively new ship, however, some rust spots around the pool and less maintained finishes were immediately noticeable. This did not match the description "6-star refined luxury cruise" used on the website for us. The room and the food As said, the room was fantastic. Unfortunately, that's not for lunch. This consisted of a buffet with cold and hot dishes. A buffet is fine in itself, but the quality and composition of the food were disappointing to us. The offering also didn't suit the Vietnamese cuisine that we appreciated so much during our trip. After three weeks in Vietnam, this was one of the least good meals we had during our trip in our personal experience. Even during lunch we were pointed out the spa treatments, via a plasticized A4 menu offered at the table. We found the prices exceptionally high for Vietnam and comparable to what you would pay in Europe. In addition, drinks during the buffets were not included and had to be paid for separately, we were aware of this. But we also found these prices to be on the high side in comparison with the rest of our trip. Activities and evening program After lunch we went with a transfer boat to the caves, where we could choose between kayaking and a trip with a bamboo boat. This was a nice and fun activity, although it was quite crowded and touristy. Later there was a cocktail moment at sunset. This was fine, but here too we missed the refinement we expected on a luxury cruise. For example, there was a happy hour where the third drink was free. That is a fine offer in itself, but we did not find it particularly attractive for proposals and it did not contribute to the feeling of exclusivity for us. The program then included a "luxurious dinner". Unfortunately, this was again a buffet whose quality disappointed us. Given the price of the cruise, we expected much more from it. After dinner we could go squid fishing. This was indeed a very fun and cozy activity and a nice moment of the evening. The next morning The next morning, an early breakfast buffet was on the program, followed by an activity on the water and the return journey to the harbor. The breakfast was fine and, together with the last activity, provided a pleasant conclusion to the cruise. Conclusion: beautiful room, but not worth the price Overall, we found this cruise too expensive for what was offered. The accommodation was beautiful and Ha Long Bay itself is naturally impressive, but the overall experience did not meet the expectations set by the price and the luxury positioning of the cruise. We stayed in several high-end hotels during our trip to Vietnam. We did get a luxurious experience that matched the price, according to our experience, and often for considerably less money. Therefore, it is not our experience that luxury in Vietnam is by definition disappointing. It was precisely the contrast with other accommodations during our trip that made this cruise disappointing. The crew on board was friendly and did their best. On board we were asked to fill out a review card. After that, we didn't have to pay for our drinks. Upon returning to the harbor, we were also offered a drink. That was of course a kind gesture, but we find it important to assess our overall experience and to name the points that disappointed us as well. Our criticism is therefore not aimed at the employees, but at the quality and the price-quality ratio of the total product. Outside the beautiful rooms, we mostly felt the impression of a free tourist, all-inclusive experience, instead of the refined luxury cruise we had hoped for. For this price, we expected significantly more and would not rebook this cruise based on our experience.
The ship was really, really good. And the worker named Vincent was the best worker I could have asked to accompany our experience there!
