Do not book this tour under any circumstances… 4 hour tour does not exist so they make you do a 6 hour tour. We were not told it was 6 hours though until the boat had undocked so it was too late. Our bus was booked for 6pm and we were told it was okay as the bus would arrive back at 5.30pm but didn’t arrive back until 6.45pm. This meant we missed our bus that we had paid for so we had to pay for another nights stay in Halong and another bus the next day. This would maybe be very very slightly excusable if the actual experience was any good. However, a few of the staff were rude and the tour generally is very badly organised and rushed (yes, even though it was 2 and a half hours longer than supposed to be). They also lie to you about the price of the entry fee to Halong Bay and overcharge you. No refund, no compensation and staff members are also disgustingly rude on the phone and don’t take any of my grievances into account, and of course, continue to lie. Lunch is also not included and it is even more overcooked than it is overpriced. All in all, terrible tour, and horrible customer service, full of lies and money grabbing. Will be waiting for a chance to escalate this, will not rest until I receive rightly deserved compensation. And a company as big as Viator should not allow a tour which does not exist to be sold. I’d give 0 stars if possible.

This company has saved my day. Without them I would never visit Halong Bay. I got late to the cruise because of the holiday madness and a lot of traffic. They got me on a 6 hours trip instead of 4 hours without asking any extras. I am so thankful ❤️

The place is great. Definitely worth the trip. Not sure about the full day, but 2-4 hour trip definitely worth the time. Gathering instruction was not clear. They said 198x cafe is the spot to gather, but it has been renamed to "Athens" cafe. Quite frustrating, as it is hard to find there a single person to guide you. The boat has tables and benches but they are dirty. Top-deck is nicer, but is accessible only en-route (while ship is moving between the stations). Tickets to the area it self has to be bought separately. Frustration again, as it was not clear who should do it. The port staff couldn't understand that I wanted to buy only tickets to the area, not the boat ticket that I had already purchased through this site. Quite frustrating. Eventually I had to give cash to the tour orgnisired that gave me tickets to the area as well. Cards are not accepted.

I should believe and listen the past customers comment. VERY BAD SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION!! Please don’t buy this trip, the pre arrangements on meeting place WAS TERRIBLE But the guide Tommy is a nice young gentleman honestly, nothing related to him, he was helping us, and lead us running to the boat in rush! Appreciated!

Boat ride was okay but the English guide was sick so we did not know what we were looking at or the history behind the mountains. We did not eat on board. We did not get any info on the caves which were very beautiful. Lots of stairs to the cave. Not suitable for people with disabilities or trouble walking.

The boat trip around the islands and in the cave were spectacular, and well worth the money spent. However the meeting point given was vague and we had to seek more detail to find out where to meet our contact, who didn't speak English, and there was no English speaking guide as promised. We also had to pay some form of government tax which was only mentioned low down in the tour description, and luckily we still had some cash as they would not take card payment. Finally the 4 hour trip advertised as starting at 11:30 actually left about 12:15 so was more like 3 1/4 hours, but that was enough to see what we wanted to see.

It was a fantastic boat tour. With only a short period of time, it was well organized, and we enjoyed the tour so much. We also enjoyed spending time with other tourists on board.

The tour itself is very good. I would have given 4 stars, but the meeting point communication with the tour staff is terrible. No English speaking staff available, no English signage to indicate what we need to do while waiting. With 11:30 am start, we headed out to the boat past 12:00 noon.

The guide (Hung) was superb, the boar Captain was excellent AND cooked great Vietnamese fried rice with egg, and the young lady had some really nice & inexpensive jewelry. Of course, the boat ride and the Cave were better than we'd expected.

Rude tourguide. Bad attitude, Overcrowded af. Hidden extra costs. But nice views tho. Beautiful mountains.

Nice staff , the guide was very friendly providing good insights. However, on trip advisor the length of the tour states 4h but in fact it’s 6h. Trip advisor should update to reflect the reality

This was a memorable experience. Ha long is certainly a natural wonder and this cruise takes you to some of its most beautiful spots. A great value!

Very friendly service, good value. Halong Bay stops on route are very crowded but beautiful. Do recommend the tour.

Expensive given that the food and the entry fees were not included. Basically we paid 16usd more per person: 6usd for the more horrible food in vegetarian option! They give you: - some tofu without a sauce - very same salad of 2 vegetables in 3 forms: cold, stir fried and same 2 veggies added to noodles. -> ridiculous We met people on the boat who paid only the entry fees and got on the same boat with us. Hence, the only added value of booking this trip was a hotel transfer, but seriously 3min drive: is it worth 16usd per person????!! If you want our advise go to the port and pay the fees directly and don’t book the food especially if you are vegetarian.

Good trip, first stop at an island is not a nice experience though, nothing to do and all boats stop there. Rest is very nice experience. Please keep in mind that it is 2hrs from Hanoi with a tiny shuttle bus.

Joe has given our group of 7 adults a great tour of Ha Long Bay and the city. It’s truly a magical and exciting experience to see these beautiful islands in person. Just breathtaking and simply magnificent.

An amazing place. The tour was exactly as advertised. A bit chaotic at registration but once we were assigned to our boat it went well.

We had a wonderful 4 days tour with this company. Halong Bay view were incredible and really very beautiful. The most importantly, we had a very wonderful boat tour. In this trip, we saw a natural cave, did the kayaking in the village and had a wonderful lunch on board. Our guide was very friendly and nice. Highly recommend to choose for them !

Shuttle bus came as promised time, the boat was clean, food was very good and the guide went extra miles help to take pictures, guided us for kayaking and also explained and showed us lots of culture figures in the cave. Just a short tour but we had lots of fun thanks to the wonderful service.

Vi was a sweet girl. We have got hours cruise with memorable experience with her. She was very caring for our parents and made up our perfect trip in Halong bay. We were sad that the time with her was so short.

Super organized, from start to end we had an amazing trip. Friendly and helpful staff. We did the afternoon tour which took from 12 to 5.30.

Ha Long bay should never be missed. Beautiful nature with the 500 steps to the top of the mountain are worth it for the view. Boat trip was nice, and the food was awesome.

Ha was our guide. He is a good guide, and everything was nice. I just wish we could have more time to stay in the cave as the boat needs to get back to shore at 12:00

Halong bay tour was wonderful, we had a nice morning tour to Halong bay thanked to his dedicated service, he was brilliant, enjoyable and very attentive to our diet and helped us all around the short journey.

4 of us booked the direct transfer from Hanoi airport to Halong city and the morning boat tour in the next day with VTT, the driver could communicate with some English so it was not difficult for everything. The tour to Halong bay in the morning was stunning. We got pick up by shuttle bus in the morning and join the boat of 22 other people. We also booked their vehicle to get back to Hanoi with a very fair price just 60$ for 1 way drive and the tranfer to Hanoi airport. All prices were very fair and as our expectation. Highly recommend their wonderful work.

I went with my partner to this beautiful and picturesque place and the truth is that we really enjoyed it! The tour was very good, and the boat was of excellent quality and very cozy. The staff was always very nice and attentive, and the food was very good and tasty too. The scenery of Halong Bay is really fantastic! and it is one of the first visits you must do when you're around.

Vi was so nice to us, we had a short memorial time to Halong bay thanked to her help. She was very patient and knowledgeable. Halong bay was very beautiful and Vi made it more memorable. Sailing in Halong Bay has been a wonderful experience, we are transported to another world, the weather is pleasant, the attention was perfect. We liked it very much. I would do it 1000 more times my family was very happy and we want to return every year. My advice to other travelers is to not hesitate to take this tour. Our favorite part of the trip was when we were in the middle of the Bay where you could see the small mountains and the entire coastline .

My partner and I had a great time in Halong bay; Tony was our tour guide. He was very informative and his English was easy to understand. Everything went well as the plan. It was well worth the price and a great way to see Halong bay.

The bay was stunning. Hung was amazing and helped us a good trip. He took care of us very well for the morning trip. The only negative point: The company should have a way to solve problem of late coming customers so that the cruise can start at the mentioned time in the plan.

GOODs:   1. The tour fare includes the transfer from our hotel to the port; we stayed at the hotel 4 km from the port, which is very convenient. After the tour, the driver brought us back to the hotel. It is super nice. 2. The boat was big enough for around 30 of us; the guide said 48  maximum. It was clean. 3. The extra-charged lunch was really nice; the set menu of 10 dishes came one after the other; there was a great variety of seafood, and it was very yummy. 4. The tour fare was very reasonable; if we count the entrance ticket, it would be 24 $, the lowest we could find over here. 5. The tour guide was helpful and very attentive to the group. NOT GOODs: 1. We took the morning boat trip; it was very slow in any activities; the bus moved around town with different hotels to pick up tourists in the morning and then dropped off at every single hotel of the six families in the bus. Overall, around 20 minutes. Later, it took 30 minutes to wait at the port reception room for buying tickets, gathering people from different sources and taking head counts, buying tickets, and then moving to the boat. Later, go to the cave or go kayaking. 2. The boat start time was not exactly 8:00 a.m.; it was around 8:10 a.m. We left the boat at 11:50 a.m. Sad as we had very limited time in the morning trip. 20 minutes were lost for logistics. People explained that they speed the engine up, but if they could both speed up and add that 20 minutes to the tour activities, then it would be much better. 3. The boat was wooden-paved and looked a bit older than the picture shown in the program. 4. There was only one tour guide for the group; he was good but not able to care enough for a big group of 30. We felt sorry for him, especially when he did the group control or at lunch when he had some different kinds of diets to serve. Maybe one more guide would be better. 5. A tasty lunch was very early at 11 h, and some of us were not ready yet. We might choose not to have it, but it was much cheaper to have it than buy it in a restaurant with that much food.   I recommend this tour without hesitation due to the reasonable fare and very good quality of the tour. especially the food. But the remaining cons were a future consideration.

The bus picked us up in the morning as a group tour, and prior to the boat journey, we got a tour of a Halong hotel. The group of around 30, as indicated, was quite a big group, but everybody was very nice. We had to wait for a late couple who came by taxi and got lost somewhere, and the boat therefore left 10 minutes later than scheduled, but the guide said the captain would speed the engine up. Walking to the cave was nice, but again many people were slow for pictures, but the guide managed to get everyone back to the boat. Kayaking was a bit in a hurry, as was previously mentioned by them, but it was a lot of fun. Some people ate their lunches in restaurants, while others, like us, preferred to enjoy nature on the sundeck until we returned to the port. Cruising finished at mid-noon. Lastly, all the crew did was great, and everybody was happy with the trip. It was incredible for the price of a $12 trip.

It was a breathtaking cruise tour with 20 people on board. Lots of super tasty foods served. The tour guide was very informative and highly experienced. Highly recommended. Thanks for this lovely trip!

Overall the tour was very good. Positives: Ha Long bay is incredible. It was stunningly beautiful and just something you have to do if you come to Vietnam. The lunch that was organised was surprisingly comprehensive and very nice. The tour included a tour of a cave, a bamboo boat ride and a short stop at an island for either swimming or a hike, which was really beautiful, if a little crowded. The tour ran longer than I thought, and with the afternoon departure we saw an incredible sunset. Negatives: the departure process was a bit of a disappointment. There was some confusion over collection point and departure time. We arrive at the port for 11am for 11:30am departure, to be told that collection from hotels started at 11:30am. This was not what was written on the ticket, so I was annoyed that we didn't depart until around 12:15. Also note: if you've sorted food separately, DO NOT let the person issuing the tickets try and upsell you more food. Also at the end of the tour there was an argument over what the outstanding balance was, but thankfully the tour operator sorted this out for us.

We had a wonderful holiday thanks to Mr. Windy. He was very helpful and would always be available to give us recommendations of places to visit and the best way to go there. We highly recommend him for his brilliant work and making our experience unforgettable!

The tour of Halong Bay lasts 4 hours and combines the cave visit and some kayaking. Totally a well-spent afternoon. Highly recommended.

This tour brought us the most memorial 4 hours in life. Halong bay is amazing. The cave visit was the highlight of the trip. We may kayak or join the short small boat trip to visit the lagoon. Highly recommend this tour.

Everything went well as advertised. Pick up was fast in the morning. Guide was good and spoke good English. Not so many tourists joining the group in the weekday so there was only 10 sharing the big boat. There can be more for the afternoon trip. Highly recommend.

This company provided us with a phenomenal service for the day boat trip to Halong bay. The guide was speaking good English and took very good care of us during this wonderful short cruise. The boat was very clean and food delicious 😋. Drink were extra and, for sure, more expensive than on land.
