3d2n 5-star Cruise: Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay & Cat Ba Island

Aki and his crew were great. The activities were well planned but I’d certainly recommend kayaking over the bamboo boat for more freedom to explore the caves and surrounding area, and the 3 day/2 night package as the second day had a really nice day tour with several stops. Rooms felt luxurious to an extent with a soaker tub window. Food was okay and very sweet in some places they maybe shouldn’t have been.

We did the two-night cruise and had a great time. The trips they plan off the ship (Cat Ba Island, kayaking, swimming) were the highlights, really well planned and full of beautiful scenery. The ship is aging a bit but my cabin was really nice, clean and well appointed. The crew was all nice and helpful, especially Aki who I want to single out for praise. Throughout our cruise Aki was just a wonderful presence, really warm and friendly and full of humor. He even went out of his way to be of assistance, bringing me laundry detergent and a brush when I spilled something on my shirt. My friends and I all enjoyed meeting and getting to know him. The only thing that was a little hit and miss was the food. But at least there was a lot of it. Overall, I would go back on Aspira if I ever did another ha long/lan ha bay cruise.

It was a really nice boattrip through Ha Long Bay with Aspira. We did 1N2D. The food was really good, we had the best egg coffee, the staff was very kind and hospitable and we even made a friend; Tom! The room was big enough and very clean. If you want a good experience you have to go for aspira! :)

We had a lovely stay. We recommend the 3D2N, since you get extra activities and have a proper get away then. They’re very friendly and it’s an extraordinary view.

The junior suite cabin with balcony was lovely and the meals provided were delicious but the activities laid on were disappointing. The 1st day’s main event to the light & dark caves was not successful as it was afternoon low tide. This activity should have been scheduled for the morning. The 2nd day’s main event to the village was chaotic as the guide did not take us round the village :( The visit to the private beach involved a 100m swim in quite turbulent water and only 3 guests decided to go. If the ship docked nearer more of us could have enjoyed the beach! The crew were polite and helpful. Nancy was a multi tasker manning the reception, demonstrating the cooking class and leading the 6am t’ai chi class. Well done Nancy! We enjoyed your efforts :)

The cruise was AMAZING! The accommodations were lovely and the staff was very friendly and worked to hard to make each guest feel welcome and comfortable. The food was delicious. Definitely book two nights. The second day to Cat Ba, oyster farm and private beach was all great and I saw more than if I had booked Cat Ba on my own. Outstanding from start to finish.

We spent two nights on the boat. It‘s indeed a great and comfortable boat with friendly employees. Room was spacious, nice balcony, very comfortable beds, very spacious and almost a luxurious bathroom. Food is good (others have mentioned it being Michelin-star-level but I would see it rather far away from that). Downsides: You actually don‘t spend too much time on this boat. You’re entering a smaller boat in the harbour and that takes you to the cruise boat (easily a 45min ride). Full-day tour to Cat Ba Island is also done with a different and smaller boat that collects people from different cruises. It‘s sad as the boat is really nice. Itinerary is quite dense. Water is provided, all other beverages are really not cheap. Very poor WIFI, you basically rely on your mobile network. Some employees quickly struggle speaking and understanding English.

Great experience with Nancy to sail 2days one night. She helped to make our stay more than pleasant with warmth feelings.

This experience was truly wonderful. Everything from the food to the accommodation to the staff. The staff was always there to help and fulfill your needs. We would like to highlight the tour guide for the day tour named Binh. He was very friendly and felt like a friend showing you around the little village of Cat ba but professional at the same time. We were a group of 10 people and this tour took good care of us. The food was Michelin star rating could not fault anything on this tour . Our host Nancy was very accommodating. This tour is first class.

Our two nights onboard Aspira were sensational. From the pick up transfer with Mr Lee, to the staff onboard, Mr Ha and Ms Nancy, and lovely Ms Green. The staff onboard are attentive and very friendly. They were super kind to our kids (7 and 10), treating them to extra icecream and passionfruit. Our boys loved swimming off the boat, utilising the inflatable at the rear, and the kayaking. The food was delicious and abundant, with many options and offerings. The beds are comfortable with fluffy pillows. The shower pressure is great. The cocktails at happy hour were lush, and much cheaper than home. I highly recommend booking with Aspira.

My husband and I went on the 2 night/3day cruise with Aspira Cruise aound Ha Long bay also visiting Cat Ba Island and absolutely loved it. The transfer picked us up at our hotel in Hanoi and dropped us back, our guide Lee (aka Bruce Lee 😄) and drivers were grea and gave some great commentary on Hanoi and Ha Long during our drive. The cruise itself was fantastic with all the beautiful staff, great boat and amazing food, and the day trip cruise out to Cat Ba that was organised by Aspira and managed by Day Cruises Tung Trang 25 with our guide Alex who was hilarious and provided us all with lots of great information on the history of Ha Long and Cat Ba. We really couldn't have asked for more, our only wish was that we came when it was a little warmer so we could swim. Definitely recommend Aspira 🙂

Was an amazing Trip and Ha was a Perfect Host! The cruiseship was very modern and clean. The service on board was excellent and the crew was very polite.

I had an amazing and memorable time in Halong Bay thanks to the amazing team at Halong Carnival Cruises! Everyone was so attentive and sweet to us. Always making sure we were full (even beyond our stomach’s capacity haha), giving us an extra blanket because they knew it would be chilly in the morning before we went on our adventures, checking in on us to make sure we felt comfortable, and sharing in wonderful conversations. Layla our informant was super helpful on WhatsApp make sure we got all the information we needed, Alex, our bus driver, was super communicative making and fun! Our cruise host was an amazing host and his team was astounding, the day boat activity host was super fun and charismatic and knowledgeable on the tour. Thank you all for creator a wonderful experience for us to remember at Ha Long Bay!

If you have the time I recommend the 3 day/2night trip it allowed for more scenic views and more time to relax. It felt overall more relaxed and less rushed. I really loved my experience. The staff were fantastic and very responsive with all requests.

3 days 2 night is the best, because at tve second day, we visiting a littel village, it’s that sooo funny ! We are a littel crew. I think is the best part of my trip at the Halong Baie !

I think my expectations were too high . So many 5 star reviews . We arrived at the check in area and it was all a bit chaotic but this seems to be the norm and we went with the flow . We were unaware the small boat trip to the cruise would take 40 minutes. Sitting on a hard bench seat could be difficult for some. The food was average - very average - just quite bland. The staff were lovely , cruise manager was very efficient and patient. The lady who played music throughout dinner was very talented . First day kayak trip was nice . The ship itself was lovely . We were at the anchor end and the noise of it being dropped was initially terrifying . The bay is dirty as others have said and I suspect that tourism is partly to blame which is pretty sad.

Ha long bay is beautiful, the boat is really comfy and our guide arrow was so much fun. All the food was really tasty and the activities like kayaking and cave tour was excellent

Amazing tour!! The food was really good and the rooms were clean. Shower was amazing and beds were comfy. We went kayaking and the cave was beautiful. Arrow the tour guide is a great tour guide! The ladies all love Arrow and you will too.

We stayed on Aspira cruise for two nights. Cabins were lovely. Staff were friendy, helpful and ready to please. Food was amazing and the activities off the boat were organised well and enjoyable. Bobby was particularly friendly, professional and knowledgable.

Good time. Food was ok for a vegetarian not that great. Overall experience was good though some activities were cancelled like morning tai chi. Evening sunset event didn't happen as smaller boat broke down. Crew takes good care. Mr. Peter is an outstanding host.

Honestly wasn’t expecting much going onto the cruise as I don’t like to follow the tourist path. However the cruise was amazing and one of the highlights of my trip for sure. The accommodations were very nice and clean. The food was amazing. Had lots of fun making spring rolls and even caught a squid that we got to fry up. Had a nice surprise watching the monkeys on the shore and in the trees while kayaking. The staff were very friendly and professional. Our guide peter did a great job. Overall a very good experience. Would recommend.

Had a great time on this cruise. The tour guide was awesome from the bus pickup till the dropoff. The scenery was amazing, the rooms were great, food waa phenomenal and the tours to the two islands was breathtaking. A must do when visiting thailand.

He is one of the most friendly and entertaining guide .. u should must visit .. the rooms are quite good more than what I expected. The staff is friendly as well and the washroom are quite impressive so clean, so neat it’s lovely place to spend a night ... it was my 1st time on the cruise and it was a great experience must ask for “Minh” the tour guide. That the best you can ask for ...

My guide was Peter. He was a good guide, with well structured tours and activities. We did the Luon cave (with kayak) and that was my favorite part of the trip.

My family and I went on a cruise and had such a great time! Bobby was our tour guide and EVERYONE loved him. He’s so funny and speaks great English. The boat crew were also excellent. This cruise also happened to be super convenient with pickup from and to our hotel. We got to stop by Ti Top island, hike to the top, swim, and kayak. We also stopped by the Surprise cave and really enjoyed ourselves. Overall highly recommended!
