The Yen Residences Halong

Great staff, very helpful. Excellent management met him in Da Nang and it was raining all the time he suggested I go to Halong bay Sunny every day, clean beautiful beaches fantastic place to relax. It was low season and I had the whole beach to myself.

Great stay here! Was a bit noisy in the morning with nearby construction, but Trong Nguyen was very helpful and got us great discounts for cruise trip and our next hotel. Highly recommend that you ask him for help to book Ha Long Bay cruise, he can get a much better price than you see online.

Warning about this hotel: Deceitful people and shady business This hotel has a resident apt with 2 bedrooms on the top of the building listed on Agoda. I booked that for a 2-day stay with my family of 5 (2 generations). I booked via Agoda and paid for everything. When we arrived, the hotel told us that the room I booked had electrical problem and they were trying to fix it. Few hours later, they said the problem could not be fixed so they would try to put us in another hotel. The manager took us around Ha Long in 2 hours in order to find another place to stay for the night. Because it was a holiday so most of the hotels were fully booked. They even took us to a zero-star hostel and we were horrified by the room condition there. Finally, they put us in another hotel in a walking distance but there's only one room for the whole family of 5. We're forced to sleep in the same room which was inconvenient for all of us. Because we paid for 2 days so we would hope the problem would be fixed and we could at least enjoy the last night in this hotel and this was just a temporary situation. However, they said there was no electrician in Ha Long working at that time so the problem couldn't be fixed (which I find hard to believe). When we asked to visit the room to see the problem they declined. All in all, I think the sold our room for another customers or maybe some VIP swooped in and take our place. Their practice is disgusting and dishonest. I read another review just like my situation on Booking.com, so they've been carried on this practice for a few times already. Beware, they do not play by the book. This resident will ruin your holiday experience.

We stayed for 8 nights after initially booking for 5. The staff made us feel like we were at home and we really enjoyed our stay. Halong city of out of season in November so it’s quiet but we liked that after hectic Hanoi. Breakfast is nice, the rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. For the price it was a bargain. The pool and jacuzzi were out of use due to the time of year but the roof top was still nice to soak up the sun. Sun world is nearby and the beach is a 10 minute walk. Two night clubs on the beach if that’s your sort of thing. Thank you to Trong and the staff for a great stay and we’ll be back one day.
