The hotel was worth every penny. The room was very clean, and the pool was large and pleasantly warm. The dinner buffet was also a good choice, with a nice selection of food. However, one downside was the parking. On weekends, the parking area in front of the hotel was full due to events or meetings, so I had to park in a nearby public parking area. I think the hotel should prioritize parking for hotel guests, especially those traveling with children or carrying luggage.

Its incredible how different experiences can be. Usually im on the end where everyone says 5 star and I go 2 stars. But this time its the other way. So many reviews mention the rooms are great but the service is terrible/rude. I honestly cannot praise these guys enough. We checked in on 30th june for 1 night as a break in the journey for ha long bay. The rooms are a fabulous size and excellent value for money but the staff are incredible. There are roadworks nearby and if youre unlucky and miss your turn you end up at the side of the hotel. At this point nobody can see you or help with luggage. But if your driver doesnt miss the entrance its the front of the hotel and the bell boy service is quality. We were originally given room 903 which over looked roadworks. No problem I though, pretty much the entire country pf Vietnam is being rebuilt atm. My issue was at 21:30 and it was still happening. I went to the reception and explained. We were moved to 1522 which is the opposite side of the hotel. No drama. The slight negative I can say is I wish they had just put us in this room to start with. Instead of moving our family at 10pm at night to the higher more comfortable room. Checked out next day and forgot our chargers and headphones. No problem. They kept them at the desk and we called back in on our way to hanoi airport. They hotel staff were incredible again. Let us use the facilities. Minded our cases while we went for snacks and drinks. Then even cancelled our grab because they said it was too expensive and arranged a taxi for us through their own service saving us 500k on the fair. A truly excellent example of top class customer service.
The hotel is conveniently located in Waterfront City, making it easy to travel to both Cat Bi International Airport and Hai Phong city center. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, while the swimming pool and restaurant met my expectations for a hotel of this standard. However, I believe there is room for improvement in the service, especially at the front office. Although the hotel was not particularly busy during my stay, the staff did not appear very welcoming, and greetings were often missing. There was also no luggage assistance upon arrival. When I asked about the possibility of a late check-out, the front desk responded in a rather inflexible and unfriendly manner, which left a disappointing impression. In addition, no one asked whether I was a One Harmony member or informed me of any applicable member benefits. On a positive note, the security staff were excellent—very proactive in guiding me to the parking area and providing clear directions, which I truly appreciated. Overall, the hotel’s facilities and location are solid, but a warmer and more guest-oriented service culture would significantly enhance the overall experience.
We organized a tour group staying at Nikko Haiphong and the experience was excellent. The hotel team was very supportive and professional throughout the entire operation. The location is extremely convenient — close to Cat Bi Airport, the Hai Phong–Ha Long Expressway, and other key attractions. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. Our guests were very satisfied and truly enjoyed their stay here. Highly recommended!
The rooms at Nikko Hotel Haiphong were generally fine—clean, modern, and comfortable. However, the front desk experience was deeply disappointing. The staff lacked flexibility and seemed more focused on rigid policies than guest satisfaction. Simple requests were met with resistance, and the overall tone felt unhelpful and dismissive. Additionally, the hotel’s location is not ideal. It’s isolated from the main parts of the city, making it inconvenient for exploring Haiphong without relying heavily on taxis or transport. While the accommodations themselves are acceptable, the poor service and poor location significantly detracted from the experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you prioritize room quality above all else—and even then, be prepared for frustration at check-in.
