From Prague: Private Hallstatt Alps Day Trip With Lakeside Picnic

This trip was a long drive, but well worth it! It was about 5.5 hours there and 4.5 hours back. I wish we had started earlier to have more time in Hallstatt, as it was the most enchanting little village we’ve ever seen. Our tour guide, Stanley, contacted me the evening before to offer some suggestions to manage food allergies, and despite my insistence on bringing our own food, Stanley and his wife were kind enough to bring fresh fruit for the picnic portion of the day. Both were kind, helpful, and offered information when possible. The a/c wasn’t working well in the van which was slightly uncomfortable at times, but it did not ruin our magical day. I would recommend this tour, but consider getting on the road earlier to have more time in Hallstatt.

Hallstatt was absolutely worth the long drive from Prague. It’s one of those rare places that somehow looks even more stunning in real life than in photos. From the very start, Stanley made the entire day feel easy and well taken care of. He picked us up right at our hotel, drove smoothly and safely the whole way, and even went the extra mile by preparing food for a picnic, which was such a thoughtful touch. Even though we decided not to eat by the lake because it was freezing, Stanley was completely flexible and made sure we still had plenty of time to enjoy the views and take photos. Hallstatt itself was breathtaking. The mountains, the lake, the charming streets, everything felt like a postcard. It was peaceful, beautiful, and truly unforgettable. What really elevated the experience was Stanley. He didn’t just drive, he made the trip comfortable from beginning to end, and he also acted as a guide while we were on the road, sharing helpful context and keeping the journey interesting. He was professional, warm, and genuinely attentive to what we needed. He also dropped us off at our hotel afterward, which made the entire day feel seamless. If you’re considering a day trip to Hallstatt, I can’t recommend it enough. Having Stanley as your driver and guide made it even better. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip.

Autumn is the best time to visit beautiful Hallstatt, this is was last time purchase and we love it. The Village and its abouts, is absolutely beautiful!!!!! The wheather was great…although, there were some missinformation. For example: The tour says, clearly that there would be breakfast included and there wasn’t. You said tha would be provided conductor/guide and there wasn’t. The condo for told us that he was not a guide. Wouldn’t know anything that we would ask him. Very disappointed!

After spending 3 days in Prague we decided to visit famous Hallstatt village for a day trip from Prague. Best trips accommodated all our needs and our personal driver Stanley did incredible job. In Prague for a week, but wanted to do some countryside and Mountain View’s. This was a great way to do it. It was a long day but with Stanley doing all the driving we were just able to sit back and relax and enjoy the ride. He took care of us like family coming home for a visit. Maybe even better, lol. This may have started a strong desire to do more Alps type trips, because it was amazing. Worth the money and time.

We had the best experience with BestTrips from Prague to Hallstatt and return. Nice drivers both ways. They were on time and all child seats were ready and placed in the car. Both drivers were friendly and we felt very safe. The company customer service was very helpful.

Stanley is our driver and guide and he’s insanely funny and fun haha. We had a lot of good history lessons about Hallstatt and the places we visit and fun singing and jokes all the way. He’s amazing!

First of all I would like to thank Mr. Ruslan of Best trips for driving us safe to & from Prague to Hallstatt village. It was a long drive but it was all worth it it. The scenery on the way was spectacular and every rolling hills was eye catching. If ever you would like to visit Prague or Austria I do highly recommend Best Trips.

The driver arrived on time and as arranged, we have awesome private walking tour and after guide left us in Hallstatt for 3 hours for own and our driver Russ at the exact time to pick us up and deliver us to our hotel in Prague. This trip is a must!! One thing that I personally appreciated, that not a lot of companies do is Nataly texting me few days before the trip to confirm details. This gives me peace of mind, because these trips are booked months in advance. From the point they picked us up from our hotel, they made sure everything was nice. Nataly, made these delicious Croissants for breakfast. Then they made sure you are comfortable all the way, by stopping when you need and offer you things on every stop. Once you get to your destination, I cant describe how beautiful Hallstatt is, you literally feel like you’re inside a postcard. Once there, they also make sure that you taste the hot wine muller which is very popular in winter and you are able to buy some souvenirs, (we bought some made of wood super cute for our kids that they love) I cant tell you enough how nice this trip is and how nice and special Nataly and Ruslan will make this trip for you!!!

I had a wonderful surprise from my husband during our stay in Prague. I always dreamed to visit Hallstatt and even had a screen saver on my phone but going to Austria was so expensive and we found company Best trips that offering a day trips from Prague and we were so pleased with the service and knowledge of our driver. Let me start by saying that I have been in Prague for 3 months and this was definitely a highlight of my entire time here! My dad was visiting Prague for two days and I wanted to do a special day trip for him. This was BY FAR the best day trip I have done since I have been here. We were picked up right at where we were staying and had such a scenic ride to Hallstatt, stopping for a few pictures along the way. Our tour of Hallstatt was very informative and Nataly guided us around the fairytale town. We took amazing photos and made memories that we will have forever. It was the most incredible and comfortable experience and I could not recommend it more for ALL ages!!!! Will definitely use this company again if we are back in Europe!!!
