Heritage Hotel Hallstatt

Great service and location, but misleading accommodation listing We had a lovely stay overall, and the service was absolutely amazing. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the location was fantastic for exploring Hallstatt. However, we were disappointed that the hotel advertised on Booking.com was not the actual property where we stayed. The accommodation we were given was around 10 minutes away from the advertised hotel, which was quite unexpected and not what we had anticipated when making the booking. This was particularly disappointing as the location and appearance of the advertised property were a significant part of our decision to book. While we really appreciated the excellent service and the beautiful surroundings, we feel the Booking.com listing should clearly state where guests will actually be staying to avoid confusion and disappointment.

We chose this hotel because of the beautiful rooms and stunning views. The room itself was exactly as expected and was the only highlight of our stay! Unfortunately, everything else was a disappointment. We were traveling with our dog, and the hotel shuttle refused to take us because of our pet. As a result, we had to walk over 1 km to and from the hotel, including at check-out while carrying all of our luggage. Our room was also located in a different building from the main hotel. This wasn’t an issue for us—we specifically booked it for the peaceful location and the view—but no one offered to help us with our luggage. Instead, we had to carry everything ourselves while the driver was standing outside chatting with the neighbors. Another major disappointment was that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. Because of this, we ended up having every single meal at Grüner Baum during our stay. Had we known this in advance, we would have booked a room there instead. The price difference is minimal, but the staff are far more welcoming, professional, and genuinely pet-friendly. The only person who made a positive impression was a Romanian staff member who personally walked us to our room and gave us great recommendations on places to visit. She was incredibly kind and helpful, and we truly appreciated her hospitality. Overall, apart from the beautiful room, our experience was extremely disappointing. The service fell far below our expectations, and unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel or see ourselves returning.

Beautiful hotel with comfortable beds and breathtaking views. We stayed in Haus Seethaller which was a 5 min walk from the main building and it was beyond perfect. On arrival, we parked and got the hotel shuttle, it was fast, direct, easy and comfortable. Instructions for arrival were perfect. On check in, the staff were friendly and confirmed that we were able to stay in the house we requested. The staff walked us to the hotel and carried the luggage - h Again, he was really friendly. We then spent two nights with THE BEST view in Halstatt. The beds are so comfortable, the tap water is delicious and runs Ice cold. The shower was great and the rooms are a good size. The town is tiny, and beautiful. We had the most perfect time here. Breakfast was included and was good, plenty of options available. On departure, the shuttle took us straight to the car park. No problems atall. I would highly reccomended this hotel, and Haus Seethaller. It's worth the hilly walk up - I promise!

I wish we stayed longer. The views from the room were amazing, the hotel has a very classic European vibe. The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but very comfortable, clean and great for a short stay. We enjoyed spending time at the balcony and watching the lake while sipping our tea. Breakfast was also amazing, definitely recommended to stay here if visiting Hallstatt.
