It was just an average experience. Not sure it was worth all of the effort and cost! They didn't leave out an abundance of flowers and for $50 a person they should've put out more.

Super experience with an amazing Host, very welcoming and friendly, We went for our first wedding anniversary (Paper Anniversary) and had the most amazing time. Great fun, would highly Recommend
This was a relaxing and cool activity (on a hot summer day) to do with the kids. It was nice to do something hands-on. although despite.a video they showed telling a bit about the history, I felt like it was hard to connect this with Japanese culture or history. It might have been nice to show other applications of the paper and to have more natural options for decorating it (there were a few pressed leaves and flowers).
This was a fun and interesting experience. Our host was friendly, informative, and went out of his way to accommodate us. The products we made are beautiful and we are no artists. Highly recommend.
Absolutely great experience in Hakone making my own little washi square! Got to make the paper and then add flowers, colored dye, and silver flakes.
English Review This was one of the most meaningful experiences during our time in Hakone. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, allowing us to truly focus on the traditional art of Japanese papermaking. The instructor was kind, patient, and explained each step clearly, making it easy even for beginners. Creating my own handmade washi paper was a special moment and a wonderful memory to take home. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic and peaceful cultural activity in Hakone.
This time, I experienced making Japanese paper in Hakone. It was very attractive to be able to create a different piece by piece, such as coloring with handprints or using leaves to create your own pattern. At first, I thought it would be difficult, but I enjoyed making it because he taught me carefully. The finished washi became a one-of-a-kind and special piece of paper, and it became a very good memory. It is an experience that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, so when I visited Hakone, I wanted as many people as possible to experience it.
Experience making washi paper It is nostalgic and handmade, so I was able to create a work that I feel very attached to! Next time, I would like to make handprints with my kids, and I am looking forward to more. It was a valuable experience for both children and adults, and I wanted them to try making washi! The store manager is kind, so I was able to relax ♪♪ Thank you 😊
I joined because I wanted to experience something in Hakone Yumoto on a day trip. It was my first time making washi, but it was surprisingly easy and I was able to make it well. The staff was kind to me and I was able to enjoy it by myself. I would like to experience a different plan when I stop by Hakone Yumoto again.
I made a reservation when a friend's family came to visit from overseas. It was a fun and satisfying time for children and adults alike, with handprints, colors and flowers. The staff were kind and pleased. I was able to take home my own original washi paper that day, and it was a lovely memory for my friends of my trip to Japan.
I think it's a great place to not only see Japanese culture, but also experience it and take it home. From the elderly to children, you can enjoy the experience regardless of your physical burden, and it is reasonably enjoyable. This is an activity that gives shape to memories.
It was predicted to rain, so I rescheduled my trip to find a place to play indoors and went to this washi experience. It was fun to think about the design and I made a travel memorabilia. I'm going to try using it framed or wrapped in aromatic candles. Next, I'd like to make colored paper!
I had the opportunity to experience it as a family. It was my first time to try making washi, but the kids said they really enjoyed it and wanted to do it again. It was hard to tell the entrance, but the interior was beautiful and the staff brother was nice. I recommend it.
I booked in advance and was able to get right into the experience. In addition, they were flexible in changing the number of people. They were kind enough to teach me how to do it, and they had all the height-adjusting chairs for the kids, and the kids were really having fun. You can make your own washi paper from various kinds, so it will be a summer homework. I think it will be a fun memory to go with your kids or to be alone.
It was the first time I tried making it in a washi hermitage, at first I couldn't do it as much as I wanted, and the staff told me that I could do it differently when it dried, and it was fun, I had time. When I came to Hakone again, I wanted to try it.
It was a valuable experience to learn how Japanese traditional washi is made with children!️ The staff were very kind and polite explanation and easy to understand 👏 I also made handprints and thought it would be good as a record of my growth such as my child's birthday 😌
It's been a while since I've had a day off, so I went to Hakone with my kids. I participated in the papermaking experience as the first event of the Hakone Petit trip, close to Hakone Yumoto Station. I thought about papermaking very easily, but it made me realize that there is history in the depths. It was an easy experience, and it was a valuable time for children. It was also during the open special price period, so it was a great experience for me at a reasonable price. I'm going to Owakuya with the leftover money! Thank you very much for your kind guidance, store manager!
He explained the history of Echizen washi, the plants used, the many processes until he finally learned that he could make the paper, and that it took time to dry even after he made it. We were so happy to take home our own washi paper on the day, and we were very moved to use it with care. It was an Echizen washi workshop that made me want to continue supporting them.
I booked it because I wanted to give the kids an experience they would never have at home. When I went there, I learned from the history of washi, and the very friendly manager gently taught me the procedure. This time, I made it in my favorite form because I was able to do it on a charter plan with my friend's family. It was very nice to see the individuality of each one in the form of topping up your favorite decorations after paper scooping 💓 The process of drying washi is a surprise and must-see✨ It was very good to make memorable memories in form ✨
After experiencing washi with my kids, kids who didn't know much about washi were also the first to show me a video explaining washi and it was easy to understand! After that, I was able to experience making washi paper, The manager gently taught me from the start, and the children were very easy to understand! You can leave your handprints, your favorite flowers and leaves. I was able to add my own favorite colors, gold and silver leaf, and I was able to make washi paper that I made in a world of great satisfaction! Kids and parents had a memorable experience! When I brought home the finished washi, they gave me the freedom to choose the pattern of the large envelope that would hold the take-away washi, and I was thrilled to the end! The time to dry washi was also shown a video of the history of washi. I thought it would be perfect for children's project research during summer vacation! The kids want to come too!! He said that. It was quite a fun experience to make washi paper, which is not often touched! As a parent, I enjoyed it too! It was a wonderful memory for me! I recommend it.
