Hakone Gora Karaku

All the water, juices, tea and coffee was all complementary. When I first walked in, there was a kind receptionist guided me all the way from the main building to my hotel and even recommended a completely free lounge for us to go. All of the receptionist was so kind and so nice. When i walked into the room, I saw a hot tub that could fit 3-4 people and you could change the temperature easily. The bed were soft and even the pillows were a bit too soft, it was very comfortable to sleep on. It was such a nice experience, I’m definitely coming back to this hotel again!!

Spectacular! Everything from the rooms, the service, the baths, the decor, and the outstanding food!! We had the Japanese breakfast both mornings, and it was some of the best food I have ever had. It's no wonder they have a Michelin star. The private outdoor bath was stunning, and all the amenities such as Yukata and pajamas were all so comfortable and beautiful. I'm so glad I splurged on two nights here!!

Truly wonderful stay! Started off by getting complimentary shuttle from the station ( booked in advance ) was on time and so nice to not have to worry about getting a cab. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were friendly and attentive, rooms were specious and very clean. The dinner was Japanese style and all the ingredients were fresh, nicely presented, and the meal was well balanced. The celhef really put thought into his meals. Breakfast I had the western and my husband had the Japanese style.- so many options and again everything was perfect. The free lounge area (7am-8 pm) was well appointed and staffed and Great selection. I think the reviewers complaining about the hour limitations will always find something to complain about. We found nothing lacking ! We rented the Cyprus onsen for an hour at night and it was so relaxing! Had complimentary drinks in the fridge and a nice resting area after. I don’t know what some of the other reviewers were going on about with the food, communication issues and cleanliness of this resort but we never experienced any of this ! I we have traveled all over Japan over the last decade, stayed and various onsens and this was def in our top five stays! I think some of the the reviews are westerners not used to Japanese style cooking or how to behave at onsens/ resort stays. 10/10 would stay again and recommend to friends.

We loved everything about this hotel! Upon check-in, everyone was courteous and professional (shout out to Ilham). My wife and I are looking enough to have stayed at many five star resorts around the world, and are puzzled by some of the review reviews written here. This place is a gem! You will love it! Our room was clean, available slightly early, and very well designed. We loved having our own little private on send out the back deck. The view was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals, and could not have been happier with our servers. Shout out to Fa (and yes we checked for spelling Tatsanaporn Suttisawang ). She was engaging and very helpful, as were all our servers. My wife and I had an amazing couples massages at the spa. Kanna and Yang were both outstanding practitioners! Had 8 massages on our Japan trip and these were the best by far! We enjoyed the cute little neighbor in town, and our ropeway trip over to a nearby lake. We moved to a different 5 Star place about 30 minutes away, and all we wanted to do was get back to this place. This was one of our 5 week Japanese trip highlights….
