We had an amazing stay at Hakone Yumoto Aura Tachibana. It was a truly authentic experience that made us feel connected to Japanese culture and traditions. The staff were incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive throughout our stay, and the food was absolutely amazing — beautifully prepared and a real highlight of the experience. Everything felt special and genuine, and it was definitely one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Japan. Highly recommended! We would absolutely love to return in the future

Beautiful. I stayed here one night with my friends, we all loved it. I was amazed by the staff. They were all really kind, professional, welcoming and available, loved their efficiency. I really enjoyed the classic-style Japanese hotel room along with the kimonos, the Onsen experience and the staff's quick and efficient services. You can clearly see they take a big effort and in their job. Overall experience is a 10/10, I will definitely come again on a future trip.
The hotel is very dated and in real need of renovation. We had a family room (a family with children), but the children’s beds were literally crammed in. The bedroom itself was tidy, though the bathroom was also outdated and badly in need of an update. The food was traditional Japanese and nicely prepared. Taste is of course subjective, but our group didn’t particularly enjoy it. We had booked the hotel with breakfast and dinner included, but we cancelled all of it and ended up eating at a nearby (better) hotel each time. The staff were friendly, but we got very little help with arranging things such as a visit to a swimming pool or a zipline park. I would not recommend this hotel, and certainly not to a family with children.
It’s a very lovely and individual hotel. We stayed in the traditional room which was very authentic. Sleeping in the futon beds was a nice experience, although the mattress was quite hard. The dinner was exceptional, and also the typical Japanese breakfast was a nice experience (very different from western style). We also really enjoyed the private onsen on the rooftop. The view was amazing. Only downside is that the hotel is located on a hill and shuttles from the train stations are only available on check in day in the afternoon. We would really recommend staying here!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Shuttle from the station to the hotel was so easy and the service impeccable. The hotel had a lot of charm almost like a boutique vibe but also felt established and exclusive. Our room had a private bath with amazing views of the mountains and the kimonos provided were so nice and fun to use. The dinner courses were so good and felt like a cultural dining experience. Obsessed! Highly recommended and can’t wait to come back!
