We arrived by car, and from the start, the experience was disappointing. The hotel has a designated parking lot that was practically empty, yet we were charged an additional 65 Shekels at check-in with no complimentary parking option offered. To make matters worse, there was nowhere to momentarily park near the entrance to unload our luggage, leaving me to carry all our bags by myself without any assistance. When I addressed this, the security guard acted in a very rude and unprofessional manner. Paying extra for parking while receiving zero luggage support—and encountering rude staff at the entrance—left me feeling slightly robbed. This level of service falls far short of expectations and definitely does feel like a 5-star hotel.

No parking. Check-in was delayed until after 16:00, and the room wasn't ready. The noisy minibar in the room woke us up in the middle of the night. Poor service by the team. I'll never come back and will not book Dan's hotels in the future.
We had a truly wonderful experience at this hotel. The check-in and check-out processes were extremely fast and efficient, which immediately set a positive tone for our stay. Parking is available under the hotel, which is very convenient—especially for families with children—but the cost is relatively high. Still, having direct access to parking beneath the hotel is a significant advantage. The food exceeded all expectations. It was absolutely outstanding—high quality, rich in variety, and incredibly delicious. This was one of the highlights of our stay. The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and managed at a very respectable standard. Everything feels organized and properly cared for. Accessibility, however, is the main challenge. While the hotel does provide the necessary lifting facilities for wheelchair users, there is no proper ramp from the street to the main entrance, and there is also no ramp in the dining area. This creates a real difficulty for guests with disabilities and should be addressed. The view is breathtaking, and the surroundings are simply stunning. In my opinion, this location offers one of the best views in Haifa. Overall, a great experience with room for improvement in accessibility.
We spent one night at the hotel. At the reception we were welcomed very warmly. Our two children received gifts. The rooms are very spacious and offer a great view. The pool is clean and cozy. We chose the buffet in the evening, but the food was hardly enjoyable and almost inedible. The service staff was also very unfriendly and inattentive. It was not worth the money. Breakfast was of slightly better quality, but still not what we are used to from other DAN hotels. The service in the dining area and pool was really very poor and not accommodating.
Dan Carmel Hotel, Haifa – 2-night stay, August weekend Overall, our experience at Dan Carmel was very positive, and I would consider returning—perhaps next time with kids. The hotel is generally well-maintained, and the rooms are comfortable with one of the most breathtaking views I’ve seen from a hotel, overlooking Haifa Bay. The pool area is relatively large, with plenty of seating, although not all shaded. Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of fresh options, many made on-site, which we really enjoyed. However, there are areas where the hotel could improve. Check-in was the most frustrating part of our stay: the line was chaotic, unclear where it started or ended, and reception staff simply served whoever reached the counter first. Some personal attention at arrival and departure—like help with luggage on the entrance stairs—would enhance the guest experience. Breakfast felt a bit disorganized as well. Guests are asked for their room number, but seating isn’t always guided, and sometimes people took tables we had started using. With the hotel appearing fully occupied, it seems they may not be fully prepared to provide smooth service when busy. Overall, though, the positive aspects—especially the view, room quality, and fantastic breakfast—outweigh the drawbacks. With a few service improvements, this could be an even better experience.
