While the charm of it being an old hotel may appeal to many people, I think the basic infrastructure could be improved a little. For instance, the bathroom in my room had a very small sink, and I had to bend down quite a lot to use it (and I’m a rather petite person). Also, the main entrance always required ringing a bell and waiting for reception to respond and open the door. Small details like these could be made easier with just a bit more modern technology. The location is very good, by the way.

I spent only 1 night at this hotel before returning to Italy and I loved it! The hotel is filled with charme and antiques. Lots of amazing "details" and the only hotel which survived the fires that destroyed the houses on the lovely Numa Pompilio street. And it shows! all is original and it makes the difference! I had a room overlooking the river and trees with tons of birds on top. The staff is amazing, they shared the history of the hotel and both "girls" speak a very good English. I loved it!

Beautiful hotel located in a historic villa just at the Guayaquil waterfront. The owners did an amazing job renovating the building, while at the same time keeping its vintage spirit. The stay here is worth it just for admiring the magnificent architecture. But despite that you will experience amazing service, perfectly kept rooms, beautiful views from the hotel's terrace and amazing breakfasts. This is THE place to stay when you come to Guayaquil.
