The tubing was a bit more adventure than these 2 seniors were expecting! We thought that there would be more quiet, peaceful floating involved instead of the nearly constant rapids. We were properly outfitted with life jackets and helmets. Our group of 4 was accompanied by 3 guides who were very helpful in keeping us moving. Water in the river was a little low so we bottomed out a few times. Often times, we were going backwards over the narrow rapids and had to be very mindful of not hitting our feet & legs on the rocks. It was exciting but terrifying at times. Water in the river was warm. The photographer did a great job and we have wonderful photos to remind us of our experience.

My husband and 2 kiddos had the most wonderful experience. We did a horseback ride to tubing adventure and couldn't be more impressed!!! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They also helped ensure that we did not lose or damage our personal belongings. During the tubing adventure, any stops that looked dangerous or where there may be a standstill, there was a professional staff always waiting to help each individual along. I am certain that the other tubing groups and trails were not this thorough!!!! They also had photographers throughout the course that were capturing the moments for us. Don't worry, they didn't try to upsell us. The price was reasonable and they were very down to earth. I'm always skeptical about getting scammed or taken advantage of, and this was NOT the case here. I felt very safe with my 9 and 11 year old, and we had a wonderful time. Another family with a teenager, lost her phone and the staff immediately dove down to search for it. With the crystal clear waters, of course... they found it! Please look into this place if you're thinking about booking... as these adventures are NOT all the same. We saw other tours and signs along the way offering similar type excursions, but their equipment looked janky and old and very unkept. Adventure Tours HG was great! They were fast, efficient and left no one behind. I also have to add that the resort Hacienda Guacheipelin was also one of the best non-commercial "TRUE COSTA RICAN FEEL" place to stay. The food was amazing, and my husband is a severe celiac/gluten allergy person. EVERYTHING was gluten free and labeled. BEST experience! This was not a paid review. We're regular ole folks from Missouri, USA. Thank you, immensely!
We had a wonderful time with Walter and Randall as our guides. So much fun and felt completely safe as they expertly guided us through the rapids. Highly recommend. Also recommend adding photographer (Jeffrey did a great job). Very reasonable and so worth it.
This was a blast with family. We had 2 adults and 2 teenages. We rode the horses for about 45 minutes then got off and took the shuttle to the tubbing site. You can skip the horses if you want but we loved it. The tubing is a blast but please note there are some serious rocks/rapids that you are moving through. There are many spots that are calm as well but I noticed little kids had a hard time getting themselves moved through the calm spots. The staff is also on the river with you and they assist with moving you along as well. Wear good water shoes-either sandals with straps or beach/pool water shoes. Crocs aren't great as they can easily fall off as you move through the brisk rapid parts on the river. they provide towels at the end and water as well. We had a great time.
We had a great time on this tubing trip. We booked the 8AM tour and were the only people there. The guides were great and made sure we had a safe trip. Definitely recommend paying for the pictures
Very rough water. I have done class V rafting and this was easily more intense. Honestly it was kinda of scary because you. Could be separated from family so easily.
The rapids were pretty intense on the date that we went tubing, and the guides made us feel safe and comfortable! We were a little nervous going into the experience, but by the end we were so glad we did it, and owe it all to the guides who were with us and made it so much fun!
Carlos was our guide with the horses, and he was incredibly nice. Pablo, Luis and Kevin were very professional while tubing! It was so much fun! As long as you can hold on to a tube you will be just fine. Would definitely recommend this to everyone!
We signed up for the tubing trip, not quite sure what to expect. Our first indication was the guides saying the water level was high. Then we were in the thick of things for the next two hours, a nearly endless succession of drops, whitewater, and waves, with occasional stops for everyone to catch their breath and for the guides to get in position on the next stretch of river. It was a thrill from start to finish, in very capable hands. Thank you for an outing we will not forget!
The tubing adventure was so much fun. Not for the feint of heart this time of year (December) when the water is high, but the guides are amazing. My kids (11 and 16) loved it. Beautiful surroundings as well.
absolutely my favorite activity of the entire trip! closed toe shoes are required so i bought some water shoes at the shop for $20. we went during off season so luckily it was just our personal group of 5 and we each had our own guide. jackson made my experience so so SO much fun and exciting!! the rapids were rough and rocky with a few calmer areas in between. the surrounding nature was beautiful. i would absolutely do it again. it was not a chill or calming experience, so i recommend if you are into fast paced exciting adventures. thank you jackson and everyone else! <3
We had an amazing time tubing with Kevin and Oscar! They were great guides. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Kendall captured some amazing photos of us! All-in-all a great experience.
Excellent experience with horse riding and the tubing. Well managed and really fun for kids. Recommend pairing with the rincon two hour hike as well for a full day activity
We were on the Tui Grand Tour with my wife and this adventure tour was on our second day. It was absolutely amazing and super fun. We have never done similar like this before, but it's worth it. During the tubing you can enjoy the fast river rafting and also the slowly chill moments while the river flow is calm. Recommended to wear water shoes and take a waterproof camera (the organizer taking pictures about the tour which are purchesable for extra cost).
We did the tubing trip with these folks. THIS IS NOT A FLOAT TRIP! It’s you sitting in an inner tube going through 5 km of rapids with occasional short float spells. It is a LOT of fun. The guides make sure you are positioned to best get through the rapids, but you need to be aware that you might end up going though them backwards and if you don’t scrunch up your feet and keep your elbows in you could be banged up a bit. The rapids have clearly been curated as there are some suspiciously- straight lines of rocks in places to make sure you stay on the right path down the river. We took the 2:30 trip and there were three guides for four people; earlier in the day you can have a ratio more like 6 guides for 30 people. Is located on the grounds of the hotel of same name.
If you do one thing, this is it! It was AMAZING. Worth every penny. Even getting stuck was fun. You have to wear closed toe shoes. This staff if the best! Some parts of the river are such an adrenaline rush! The age range on our tour was 20ish - 70ish. Bring money for tipping. We were told not to bring any because it will get wet. I felt bad we had no money to tip after such a great experience.
Two families for a total of nine of us did the horseback riding and tubing. Great fun for everyone. Tubing was particularly exciting and the staff was really fun to have around. Would do it again in a heart beat.
Never done this before but loved it, would I do it again yes please. It has slow bits then another rapid great fun what ever your age, we are in are low 60s. We were on a tour of the rain forests a group of 17.
We had a great afternoon on the water. The rapids were quite fast. I was anxious about the trip. The guides did such an amazing job keeping everyone together and safe. This trip is not for babies in any way. Be ready for a thriller people. 😉
This was an amazing experience that I can't wait to come back and do again! The tubing is the right amount of intense and security - some of the rapids are not joke, but you are surrounded by great tour guides who know what they are doing so you're in good hands! We took a short tour on horseback where we were picked up by the bus to go tubing. After some instructions, we were geared up with life vests and helmets and we were on our way! Water bags for clothes and towels were provided. It was rainy lightly during our tour, but that didn't take away from the experience. Like I said, can't wait to go again!
This was a FANTASTIC tour!! We began at 1:30 by riding horses down to the river and David was our very pleasant guide. (only wish the horses had a less rocky path to travel) Then the fun really began - after a brief training session, we put on helmets and life vests and got into our tubes. The rapids were SO fun and easy to navigate. There were plenty of guides to help us along and keep everyone safe. They were all lovely- especially Santos and Rafaella - what wonderful people. The company is very lucky to have them! Our group was small (about 8 people) and this enabled us to have outstanding attention by the very supportive guides. This was a perfect adventure and I am so very glad we went.
Active descent and lots of fun for parents and young adults. The guides are fantastic and always ensured our safety, while having as much fun as we did. Laughter galore despite the cool temperature/rain, it was perfect!
Well organized trip. You will be picked up by bus and given clear instructions; The sailing is fun and quite adventurous although we were with a very large group. The guidance is very ok and we had a nice experience, but in itself this was very expensive for what it was. The photos taken along the way should actually be in the price (you have to pay them separately) and even then it remains a lot of money for what you get. Really not bad, but for half the price I would have given five stars.
The pick-up service by bus went very smoothly, although we had to wait for the bus until the group of horse riders had arrived. The explanation of the supervisors was very good and they were all very friendly. The tubing itself was adventurous and certainly not quiet or boring. It was a very nice experience and a must-do for me. The only thing I can comment on is the price. €80 is a lot as the only things you get are a tire a bus ride and a river. They are told that there are 12 supervisors and that is correct, but 8 of the 12 are there to take pictures that you can buy afterwards. For €80 these pictures or a piece of fruit on his fog could be included in the price.
A very fun experience on the Colorado River, suitable even for clumsy people like me 😂 The guides/monitors help you at all times, whether you get stuck or fall off the tube ("float"), which happened to me. Thank you so much to all of them and especially Damian who almost drowned twice when he tried to help me 😂 Sorry 🥹 and thank you so much for being a "savior angel" 😂😊
Very nice activity, having known we would have planned to combine this activity with other activities or even to stay on site because it seemed really good.
It was my wife and I and we enjoyed a wonderful activity, the people very friendly and very well prepared.
A really fantastic and unforgettable day!The Hacienda Guachipelín is a place that is hardly forgotten for its lush nature and the kindness of its operators. My husband and I did tubing on the Rio Negro, pure fun..we forgot to have years on our shoulders and the assistance of the operators was really impeccable..here competence and professionalism reign supreme.Everything is organized in a careful and scrupulous way, nothing is left to chance.Santos, the person who helped me so much during this activity, was really splendid. I recommend this wonderful experience to everyone, get involved sometimes does not hurt in life...Pura vida
