Our guide, José, provided ongoing commentary on our journey. Telling us about the agricultural practices in the area. Stopping to show us a pair of Jabiro birds and a family of Howler monkeys. The boat tour was fabulous. The lunch provided was excellent. A great day!

Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours are amazing! We had them shuttle our wedding guests to and from the airport on multiple trips. Leading up to our time in Costa Rica, I messaged them very frequently with questions and trip adjustments. Sometimes my requests were super last-minute. They were always super responsive and accommodating. I received so many compliments from our guests on how smooth and easy the transportation was! Highly recommend this company for any private shuttle needs.

Ariel and his staff were incredible in all respects! Very professional, personable & knowledgeable. all of the vehicles were updated and clean. They went above and beyond to look after us and made each trip seamless. If you need superior and safe transportation along with local knowledge, I would not advise using any other company. Good service, nice people. We were a party of 33. Two buses and everything went very well. They were on time for pick ups. no issues at all. They even stoped on a grocery store and waited for us to pick up some groceries on the way to our destination. It was great.

We recently returned from our trip to the beautiful Costa Rica - we used Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours Costa Rica for both pick up from the airport to our resort (approx 1.5 hours away) as well as back to the airport at the end of our trip. The booking process was smooth and the company was extremely responsive. Both trips were seamless from pick up as soon as we left baggage claim at the airport to waiting for us at the front door of our resort to head back home. Both drivers were excellent drivers, very friendly and provided history and information on our rides. We highly recommend this company!

We recently used Playa Grande Shuttle for our airport transfers during our trip to Liberia, and we couldn't be happier with the service provided. Once we exited the Terminal Jose was there waiting for us, easily spotting having someone help us in the crowded terminal and guiding us to the shuttle location spot. His warm greeting and refreshing ice-cold water made our journey to the resort both comfortable and enjoyable. On our return trip, Donald was my driver, and he was equally as fantastic. Not only was he punctual and courteous, but he also went out of his way to accommodate a quick stop at a surf shop so I could pick up a last-minute gift. His flexibility and willingness to cater to our needs made a lasting impression. Van was clean, driver was very courteous and friendly. We struggled to find the van at the airport because there were so many different companies waiting. Going back to the airport our ride was there early. Would recommend this company to others.

I generally like to be in control of the vehicle I'm traveling in, especially on two-lane roads. Since we didn't rent a car for this trip, I had to rely on other transportation. Our driver was on time, very friendly and helpful with luggage. He spoke very little English but that wasn’t an issue. He was a safe driver and knew where our condo rental was located in Tamarindo.

Fantastic shuttle service. They made it so easy and they're so reliable. The shuttles are new and beautiful, with AC, and both of our drivers were experienced and helpful. We were able to stop at the grocery store on the way to our hotel which was so helpful and convenient. Completely worth every penny!

We had a fantastic experience with Playa Grande Shuttles during our recent visit to Costa Rica. Communication was excellent from the moment I booked, Ariel & team are a pleasure to deal with. Our airport driver picked us up in a clean and comfortable vehicle and had bottled water ready which was a really nice gesture. With the limited Spanish we had, we had a nice conversation with our driver who even stopped and got us a snack. He was super kind and also a fantastic driver. We also used Playa Grande Shuttles to pick us up and take us over to Tamarindo for the second part of our trip and then again for returning to the airport. All 3 interactions were an absolute pleasure. Pricing is fair, communication is excellent and we felt safe and cared for. We’re already planning our next CR trip and will definitely use Playa Grande Shuttles again!

The view was wonderful, the ride was quiet with lots to see. The driver was hospitable and I water to drink.

The shuttle was waiting right where they said it would be. The driver was polite and helped with our bags. The van was wonderfully cool and he had ice cold bottled water waiting for us. The return shuttle was early and waiting for us at our resort for our return trip to the airport. Communication with the office was easy and efficient. ***As soon as you leave the airport there will be a lot of people in the pick up area. Be prepared for someone to help with your luggage. This will not be your driver. They will help take your luggage to your vehicle. After your luggage is loaded, they will let you know that they work for tips. A couple of dollars will be just fine😁***

I would recommend booking this company! They were always on time and communicated well. They also offered us water and beers when picking us up from the airport and even stopped by a grocery store on the way to our Airbnb.

We just recently used Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours for our roundtrip airport transfers from Liberia to our resort. They provided excellent service !! Prior to our trip I was in contact with them to confirm our arrival at the airport, pickup times etc. They were prompt and fast with their replies. They met us at the airport and found us before we found them outside the arrival terminal. Driver was courteous and provided us with cold refreshments on the drive to the resort. He also provided some info on the area and Costa Rica in general which we appreciated. On the return trip we received the same excellent service. Pickup times were exactly as they said would be and they were on-time and punctual. Definitely would use this company again when we return to Costa Rica in the future !!!

Vehicle was clean, driver was not friendly and spoke zero English, I used my translator app to ask questions in Spanish he didn't want to try . There were no beverages offered either way. I ask to stop outside the airport and I bought the driver a beverage to which he did not thank me. Most of the people we spoke to at the resort hailed a cab at the airport where there were plenty for $100+ one way depending on your negotiation skills and got a delightful energetic person that was excited to tell you about their country. Oh well live and learn

My family had round trip shuttle service and we were pleased with both. Both drivers were on time and friendly. The driver that picked us up from the airport offered us water and offered to stop at the supermarket for us. He also pointed out various things along the way and even stopped at one point so that we could see howler monkeys. Very happy with the experience!

Our driver, Roberto, was outstanding. He picked us up at the Liberia airport and it was very easy to spot the sign with my name on it. He took care with our luggage and had ice cold water and beer waiting on us in the van. He also pointed out some monkeys in the trees on our drive to Haciena Pinellas. We used Playa Grande several times for transportation on our recent trip- from LIR to our hotel, from Playa Panama to Las Catalinas and from Las Catalinas back to LIR airport and they were on time (or early), had clean vehicles, friendly service and we couldn't have asked for anything more! Our family came to Costa Rica for my daughter’s wedding. We had 36 traveling from Arizona throughout the week. Most of them had never been to Costa Rica and many had never been out of the country before. The communication between Ariel, Salem and the staff was quick and accurate. We had Jose drive us to and from Liberia airport and to our other excursions. His English is excellent and has a great sense of humor. For our transfer from Liberia to Playa Grande, Jose and other staff had cold water, soda and beer for our hour long trip to Playa Grande. After a long travel day, it was nice to have the vans waiting for us was a relief for many of our new travelers.

Great communication and service both ways. Always on time and would use again. I also would recommend. I will admit paying upfront was scary but would do it again with them.

Really great, excellent drivers. Pros: friendly staff, responsive. We had a three hour delay on the outbound and the shuttle still picked us up (after scaring me saying maybe they couldn't) but they did and charged $50'extra fee. So happy they were able to accommodate a flight issue. Cons: SUPER tight seating in the shuttle. We had a group of 15, and we were like sardines. I'm 5'7" and my knees were jammed in there. Our friends who were 6'+ were miserable for an hour and a half. If you're larger people, I would NOT recommend this shuttle. It was nice and new, but much much smaller than a coach seat in an airplane.

Best shuttle service from the airport to your destination. Comfortable, reliable and accommodating. We stopped for groceries en route to our destination and then upon return, conveniently added a stop for lunch and souvenirs on the way back to the airport. Drivers are most helpful, courteous and friendly. Highly recommend!

We just can’t say enough about Ariel and his team! Each year that we visit Playa Grande, they are there to greet us at the airport, always prompt, courteous and service oriented…..so accommodating, making stops en route for groceries and fruit stands. We traveled in air conditioned comfort with water and wifi provided for the journey. Each year we have done amazing full day excursions and we have appreciated the knowledge and warm hospitality of our guide. Their prices are very reasonable as compared to some other shuttle services and far better than renting a vehicle in Costa Rica, which we found expensive and unnecessary on a daily basis.

We recently used the private charter service during our Costa Rica visit. From Playa Grande to La Fortuna, then to Rincón de la Vieja, then to Liberia airport. We had Geoffy (twice) and Jose as our drivers. The van was clean and the service was excellent. The drivers were friendly and spoke English/Spanish. Geoffy was exceptional 👌 He cared about his customers very much. The owner emailed back to me every time when I contacted with questions. I will use this company again for our next visit as well.

Jeffery was an excellent driver. He pointed out things of interest along the 1 1/2 he drive. He answered all of our questions. When we asked about food, he even stopped at a local stand and bought us a snack. We will definitely ask for him again.

During our visit to beautiful Costa Rica, we had the pleasure of using several different shuttle services. While they were all very pleasant, Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours was by far the best. Before our shuttle, I had several questions and was able to communicate with the owner, Ariel Arrieta Morales, very easily. He was very helpful and responded promptly. Furthermore, our driver was great--a very hospitable and helpful person, an easy and interesting conversationalist, and a skilled and safe driver. The van was clean, cool, and very well maintained. It was a nice, relaxing drive that provided us with a good last opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way to the airport. I highly recommend this service.
