Relax & Rejuvenate: Waterfalls And Hot Springs At Rincon Volcano

This was our first visit to Costa Rica and our first excursion. We did have a little concern with the weather as it is just the beginning of the rainy season however day had glorious sunshine and amazing sights. Despite the initial drive (2 hours) to pick up another couple and then onto the thermal pools, we learned SOOO much from our wonderful driver of 25 years. His knowledge of the country, the history and all the right places to see local wildlife was great. The thermal pools were hot to say the least (38 to 41°C) but it only took minutes to acclimate. The mudding was a fun experience. We washed off in the river which was a refreshing change. The separate waterfall and swim adventure was an amazing experience. After that was finished up with a delicious lunch. I would highly recommend this adventure.

This trip was wonderful. It really was relaxing. The waterfall was refreshing and cool. The hot springs took the aches away, and who doesn’t like to get messy with mud?! There were a fair amount of suspension bridges that were fun to traverse!

This private tour was fantastic and hilberto was a wonderful guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and since it was private, we were able to customize it a little and spend more time at the hot springs over the waterfalls. The Waterfalls were beautiful to see but the water was too cold for swimming. The hot springs were the highlight for me…they were so beautiful in the middle of nature. The lunch was terrific too…I’d highly recommend!

Hello fellow travelers, I want to say this was a great outing. We loved the hot springs and the waterfalls. Let me tell you that there is a long unruly bridge that you have to cross, only 2 people at a time. So technically I didn’t see the waterfall we were supposed to see. The entire group didn’t fully trust the bridge stability. But our guide did ensure we saw some smaller scale waterfalls which we did, 3 to be exact. Which was beautiful. The mud bath was less desirable. It was a guy with mud in coconut shells and you apply the mud onto your body. That part could have been better. Our guide was fantastic ( unfortunately I can’t remember his name). SAFETY ADVICE- please hydrate after the hot springs, I experienced heat exhaustion and had to be seated and hydrate for over an hour. So please take this advice over anything else I’ve provided thus far. My hubby almost lost his mind experiencing this unfortunate episode. Everything else was fabulous! The lunch that was provided was very healthy, nice and tropical.

Good half day experience. Private transportation and guide. We left early to try and beat some of the heat. Our driver, Alberto had much knowledge, and was very engaging with our group. Lunch was delicious. Lots of choices. Our guide even gave a couple of suggestion for local places to go shop at.

What an amazing day! This is our first time in Costa Rica and we wanted to make sure that we did at least one excursion. We selected the Relax & Rejuvenate: Waterfalls and Hot Springs at Rincon Volcano excursion so that we could see a couple of different things. Well, we made a great choice!!! Memo was our guide and he picked us up right at 7:20am at the Ritz Carlton. During the drive to the waterfalls, he shared so much amazing information about our day, his country and all kinds of other facts. We already felt like we had known him for years. Needless to say, the waterfalls were breathtaking (both view and temperature :-). After that, we had a 10-minute drive over to the hot springs where Memo explained the hot springs process and let us know that there was also a mud bath there. The springs were so relaxing, and the mid bath was actually kinda fun! We finished the excursion with a lunch full of local cuisine. We are not buffet people, but the lunch was outstanding. The fruits and salads were so fresh and the chicken and pork was incredible. One tip.....don't eat too much of the pork so that you don't have room for the Arroz con Leche. It looks like I made a rookie mistake. We continued the conversation with Memo on the way back to the hotel and couldn't believe that our excursion was over. I highly recommend this trip and thought that the whole Costour team did a great job with communicating and executing. I would totally go back again!!!!!

Had a great trip to the volcano. The tour guide was fantastic and made the trip even better. The hot springs were a family favorite. The lunch was great. Highly recommend.

LOVED THIS excursion neither my husband or I have ever been to Costa Rica and this was an amazing thing to do to see different parts of the area.

Alberto picked us up at our hotel right on time and even though we were just two, he said we were still going. The van is nice, clean, and comfortable. Alberto gave lots of interesting facts on the way to Rincon. The hot springs and mud are great. Perfect temp and just beautiful. We then walked across the road to see a series of small waterfalls before heading to the big waterfall. It was gorgeous but wow the water was cold. Lunch at the open pavilion restaurant was tasty and plentiful. Several other groups stopped there as well. We travel often and Alberto and Cos Tours were TOP NOTCH, so good in fact, we decided to take another tour the next day! Highly recommend!

We just did the zip line and it was great. The staff was very patient, professional and hardworking. The setting where you start the zip line is beautiful with great views, a perfect place for friends and family who are not zipping to hang out. The zip line was an amazing experience, highly recommended.

It was an amazing, personalized experience! Kevin had great communication through the app leading up to our event. Our tour guide, “Mamo”, was our personal driver and he took very good care of us. Picked my daughter and me up from our location in the Costours van, talked with us about notable sights and life in Guanacaste. He carefully guided us through the trails down into the waterfall and then through the hike to get to the hot springs and mud bath. The buffet lunch in the main hacienda hotel was good. The changing and bathroom areas were clean and comfortable. Mamo made a stop for us to shop for souvenirs on the way back to our friends home. It was a perfectly curated experience!

Guillermo was our driver and guide, very friendly and accommodating. The waterfall was so refreshing! And the thermal pools were relaxing. We didn’t want to leave either one. Highly recommend

The itinerary was very well thought out, combining leisure time with activity and not-to-be-missed opportunities to swim in the Waterfalls and Hotspring! We had 6 of us traveling with our guide to the waterfall and hot springs. It was such a great experience! Great drive telling our group about Costa Rica, stopped along the way for photos and souvenirs. Costour was responsive, helpful and clear on pricing and what was included in the tours. It was really fun doing something so different and enjoyable. Our tour guide Isabelle really knew so much about the country and about our tour. She translated for both the English and French speakers on the tour. We had a great time.

I spend alot of time here in Costa Rica and here in Playa Del Coco you can find "middle man" scammers (the guys on the streets) and while the price might be lower, you get what you pay for. I can promise you. I spend 3 months a year here in Coco and have been scammed and toured with some very professional companies. Cos Tours is TOP NOTCH. Yves or any of his tour guides speak excellent English and make your trip feel extra specials. I was on a trip to the Rincon where we did the waterfalls and Hotsprings and we had Guillermo and he was fantastic. Also another note that he doesn't pack up his bus so it's uncomfortable and the buffet at the Rinco was AMAZING. Sometimes you go on tours and if it's cheap...better pack a lunch as you will get a cheap rice and beans lunch. Take my word for it...these guys are honest and professional and you will never have to worry about getting scammed. Kiki Berg.

I don't even know where to begin!!! The tours we went on were absolutely amazing !!!! The service we received from the guys makes me speechless !!!! They truly love what they do and share what life really is like in this beautiful country!! From boat rides, to fishing, to typical meals, to the beauty in the culture and in the wildlife this company is who you want to take you on a tour !! They speak English, French, and Spanish !!! We were staying at the RIU Guanacaste for a week in January 2018. Our group of 14 booked all our tours through this fabulous company. There tour guides were knowledgeable, courteous, professional, punctual, and accommodating. Our group booked the Hot Springs, Palo Verde Boat tour, half day fishing and the conservation area tours. Everyone loved everything about these tours. You can book in advance or while you are there, but I would get on board any tours, especially in high season, prior to going. DO NOT BOOK ANYWHERE ELSE or your tour just won't be all it could be.

Discover threesome tour with our excellent guide and driver Alberto who speaks very good French. Great day! We saw the fumes and even 2 kinds of monkeys during our first game. Swimming very refreshing at Oro pendulum Falls. Dinner. Then a swim at the hot springs. Small catch! Do not wear a jersey with white if you are coating mud. It's still stained, but it was up to me. In short perfect day and well balanced.

Great day at Oropendola Falls at Rincon Volcano and the volcano hot springs. Wonderful day, the scenery is breathtaking. Hot water springs are a great experience with children. Very good dinner at the restaurant and an unparalleled accompaniment with Kevin all day! We loved it!!! Thank you!

Magnificent tour, very competent guides, lots of explanations and answered all our questions about the country, they even took photos for us on their personal cameras and sent them to us. Very nice ride to the hot sprints of Rincon de la Vieja. Enchanting site surrounded by nature, different natural pools with different heat intensities. Hiking for if render is accessible to all with blue butterflies as a bonus. Thank you Costour for this beautiful discovery, great Service 👍👍
