Private Afternoon Sunset Cruise

Great sunset sail with an incredibly fun and friendly crew. Pecho, Adrian, Kenneth, and Leslea were attentive and made sure we have everything we needed. Fun snorkel adventure to a local island followed by a lovely sail back with a sunset backdrop and great snacks.

It was a pleasant afternoon out on a boat. Is it a sailing tour? No. They put up the mainsail for a few minutes for show but I don't think they ever plan to really sail. Sunset was nice. Crew and fellow passengers were nice. Snorkeling is in cloudy water on our day. Not much to see.

We had a fantastic afternoon aboard Seabird Sailing Excursions… The crew was absolutely fantastic and made the day a phenomenal experience for my family. Kuka, Gojito and Miguel the captain were very entertaining and were great hosts for the afternoon. It was one of the best experiences of our family vacation… I would highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys a beautiful afternoon on a fantastic boat.

My girlfriend and I did the private sunset tour, which lasted about 4 hours and included some great snacks, drinks, snorkeling, beautiful views, and most importantly a wonderful crew. Pecho was our captain, and Kuka and Chebo the crew -- we couldn't think any more highly of them! Kind, caring, helpful - they truly checked all of the boxes and made our sunset tour so great. Outside of how great everyone was, we had an absolutely beautiful sunset. It was a perfect afternoon, and I'm happy to say we made new friends! Also a special shoutout to Eric and Leslea, the owners who helped set up and coordinate everything so seamlessly.

We had a great time on an afternoon snorkel & sunset cruise. It ended up just being our family of 5, the boat owner, her son & then 3 crew members. You get into a water taxi from the beach so expect that you may get a little wet wading into the water. You step from the taxi onto the sailboat which may be a challenge for some individuals. We had no issue with this or the reverse process to get back to shore but may be good to know for those expecting to step on from a dock. The crew was incredibly nice. They brought us lots of drinks & provided delicious snacks. The ocean was beautiful & we had dolphin friends alongside our boat for much of the trip to the island. Because of a strong headwind, we were a little slower getting to the island than expected so we were a little rushed getting to snorkel & explore. Fortunately we had snorkeled before because instructions weren’t clear. There was a little communication issue there. Unfortunately it wasn’t very clear snorkeling so we didn’t see much. That wasn’t the highlight of the trip. The sunset was beautiful & it was a great trip., just not the best snorkeling.

Our return to Guanacaste had to include a return trip on the Seabird. Eric, Captain, and crew were fantastic from the moment we boarded. The boat is comfortable and it was like a dream as we sailed to a spot for snorkeling and swimming. We came back to fresh snacks and of course any drink of our choice. Thank you Eric for hosting a wonderful day.

The staff were very kind and knowledgeable. Excellent service and attentive. Highly recommend doing this over a catamaran if you have a small group.

Leslea and her crew took great care in making this a beautiful experience! We loved being on the water. While snorkeling, a sea turtle and a puffer fish were spotted. The food was delicious and the sunset unparalleled! We’d do this again in a heartbeat!

We went on a private afternoon cruise yesterday and just fell in love with Sea Bird! From the snorkeling and drinks to the sailing and sunset, this classic sailboat and her crew helped create some great memories. From the time we got on the boat, Captain Valone made us feel at home with his friendly, relaxed demeanor. He explained right away what we would be doing and made us one of the boat's signature cocktails. We motored out of Coco at a comfortable pace and took in the views of Coco and Playa Hermosa. We passed a tiny island that looked just like a silhouette of a gorilla head, and eventually wound up in an area with a small beach and coral reef. He took us out snorkeling personally and showed us where the coral was, puffer fish, and a stingray! After that, we had some snacks and the sails went up. It was fun watching the captain and his first mate Melvin work together to hoist the sails. Never having been on a sailboat, we really enjoyed watching the process. The boat itself is older, but renovations are being made and I anticipate seeing the final results, as we will be back to see her and go sailing again. She's a beauty with great character, and her owner is putting a lot of love into her. Usually there are dolphins that like to play around the boat, and we enjoyed watching schools of fish leaping out of the water and also the birds on the hunt. We were lucky enough to get some clouds near the sun as it started to set, and we toasted with another signature cocktail, the "Tequila Sunset," as it went down. Coming back into Coco was beautiful, with the beach all it up with strings of light and the water appearing inky in the dusk.

Booked a sunset cruise for a group of 8. It was great to work with the boat owner, Leslea, to plan a special afternoon/evening that included a marriage proposal. Crew were very accommodating and made sure we were having a good time. It was really a special evening. One of our guest unfortunately left a purse on the boat. It was quickly located and Leslea made a special effort to meet us the following morning with the purse.

A little pricey, and the boat definitely needs some TLC, but we did have the whole boat to our party of four, like a private cruise!The local crew were very friendly and helpful. The wind was a bit strong initially so we motored up the bay to a beach, but not good snorkeling, shallow and murky. They need to find a good sheltered rocky snorkeling area. The winds died down approaching sunset and with a little encouragement to the captain, we had a good sail into the sunset on our way back. We enjoyed the sailing part the best ( the reason we chose this cruise). Overall a good afternoon on the water and some great sunset shots!

Our group of 6 really enjoyed the private afternoon sunset cruise. Captain Andre and his crew member were great - very knowledgeable of the area and made sure we got to explore the area. This was worth the price and would highly recommend!

This was the most relaxing day of our trip. The sunset was beautiful. The beach was great and the crew was outstanding. Captain Andrew was knowledgeable of the area and pointed out sights and gave us interesting information on the area. Sidney took very good care of us and kept the food and drinks coming. This is a cruise I would recommend for everyone!

Excellent personalized service, communication and performance. Dave and Wendy run a very professional service and went out of their way to make our sunset cruise sail trip special. We cannot say enough good things about the entire crew. Captain and Sidney were extremely friendly and helpful. The fresh fruit and beverages were all wonderful. The Costa Rican coastline and the sunset were breathtaking. Aside from the natural beauty which words can’t fully describe, the friendliness and professionalism of the entire outfit stands out. Can’t say enough good things. Pura vida!

Andre, Dave and Wendy were great. Had a nice sunset sail and visit to a local beach with great views from a cliff and a cool cave where the tide rushes in. Red tide made snorkeling not really an option. Lots of drinks, watermelon and pineapple that was awesome. Andre went the extra mile and put my daughter on the helm for a bit. Wendy met us right at the beach and was very helpful with everything we needed to know for the trip. Thanks for a nice evening!

This was greatest Sunset Sailing Cruise experience I've ever had. Wendy greeted us at the beach which was very nice. She gave us all the details about how to remain safe and what to expect when sailing. Dave and his crew were extremely courteous and provided us with everything we needed to enjoy every moment. All crew members were exceptionally knowledgeable of all the landmarks which provided us insight for future visits to Costa Rica. Dave and his crew kept our thirst quenched and provided us many different options for drinks. Additionally they provided us with fresh cut watermelon and pineapple that was amazing. The price of this trip was perfect and with all due respect, worth more!!! The crew navigated us through areas that gave us unbelievable pictures of whales, dolphins, schools of flying stingrays, and the most perfect sunset. We will definitely return to Costa Rica with a plan to book this sailing excursion again. Thank you Sea Bird Sailing Crew!!!

This cruise was awesome!!! We could not have asked for a better experience as Wendy, Dave and crew did an awesome job and made this cruise the most memorable experience we had in Costa Rica. We wanted to get married out on this cruise at sunset, and they made it happen. Wendy went way above and beyond to make sure we had a cake, flowers and champagne and Dave memorized our script and was our officiant! The crew helped us out to pick the right spot to say our vows and the whole thing was amazing! Could not have turned out any better and could not have asked for anything more! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely fantastic ! This was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted the true sailing experience and Sea Bird delivered. We finished the trip with a beautiful sunset and then sailed back with a full moon. The captain and crew were top notch. Great customer service! Thank you for making this a very memorable trip.

We opted for the full-day private cruise. We had an amazing time! The crew was very kind, attentive, and knowledgable. I felt like I was on an episode of animal planet. When we arrived at a beach swim area, we had a family of white-faced monkeys come for a visit. Our kids were able to feed them some pineapple and we were all absolutely thrilled to get so up close and personal with the local wildlife. On our ride back into Playa Coco we saw a family of Dolphins chasing flying fish across the bay. When we arrived back there was a rainbow waiting for us. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this tour. If we are ever back in this area we would go again!! Thanks Fabian, Andre, and Volan!

An amazing day -- we were 2 families with 4 teen-agers between us. Wendy, Dave and the crew made our day so perfect. We enjoyed a great sail to beautiful beach, with sea caves, a hike to view a cliff and plenty of snorkeling. Dave took the kids snorkeling and showed them fish, sea urchins and blue starfish. We had an incredible lunch served to us on the beach. On our way back we popped into another cove to visit another beach and along the way we just happened to catch a tuna - which Andre cut up and served to the crew -- freshest sashimi ever! 4 teen-agers + NO complaints + NO phones = PERFECTION! The sunset was truly a sight to behold -- if you are in the Playas del Coco area - do not miss this gem!
