The place was beautiful. Our tour guide was amazing. The walk was a nice easy walk. Some hills and pallets but steps built to walk up and down. Would recommend the experience.

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful and private 4 hour hike of Sensoria’s rainforest, thermal pools, and waterfalls. Steeped in the history of the’Old Woman’s Corner’, our guide Issac shared his knowledge of the flora and fauna, while showing us things we would have never uncovered without his keen eye and experience. Pablo Palacious our driver and guide, was also great in sharing the local experience of coffee and baked goods on our journey. He spotted a number of birds and wildlife as we made our way to Sensoria and back. The staff and facility were very nice. Best adventure we had on our first visit to Costa Rica 🙏. Would highly recommend. Must be mobile and active to enjoy this experience as there is climbing and descending on man made trails.
Ib=ncredibel trip. Our guide, Joaquin was outstanding. So knowledgeable about the area, plants, animals. amazing! He set the pac e to accommodate our group very well. Got back from the hike a bit hungry and a fantastic lunch awaited. Clean shoes, bathrooms and changing rooms. Great time
Pablo was our guide and was very informative and patient with having 2 of us being very slow hikers due to health issues, he made sure to stop along the way to show us as much wild life as possible so I highly recommend this tour.
It was a beautiful experience. I have limited walking and they accommodated me. I swam in 3 thermal pools with a short walk between each one. The guide was awesome, beautiful facilities, excellent service and delicious food.
Our private Sensoria tour was unforgettable. From pickup to drop-off, our guide Pablo was friendly, knowledgeable, and inclusive, letting us set the pace while sharing insights about the rainforest’s plants and animals. Sensoria itself is stunning - lush jungle, well-maintained paths, beautiful waterfalls, thermal pools, and plenty of wildlife (we spotted birds, lizards, snakes, and fresh animal tracks). Pablo’s expertise brought it all to life, and he made the whole day seamless and special. Thanks also to Johnny at the resort for helping coordinate on site. Highly recommend asking for Pablo!
Great rainforest Well kept facilities Beautiful naturals pools and the hot water pool The view from the platform was amazing The drive up here is a bit tricky though - you absolutely need a 4x4 if driving by yourself The trip was well worth it though
Truly an immersive experience in the rain forest. It’s worth every dollar. Our guide was very kind and knowledgeable. Food was very good!
We took the walking and thermal pools tour with Daniel as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the rain forest and eco-activities being done by Sensoria to maintain that balance. He pointed out several animals including toucanet, capuchin and spider monkey, iguanas, and flora along the trip. The walking tour is a very moderate tour, with only some elevation gain as a small challenge. The waterfalls and pools are simply breathtaking. We spent considerable time just absorbing the experience. We stayed at Blue River Resort just a few KM from Sensoria. The trip in was a slight challenge as ~ 30km of the trip is on unpaved roads full of pot holes. But the experience is well worth the effort. Highly recommend the experience and Daniel as a guide.
What an amazing experience. Sensoria is absolutely beautiful. The land is breathtaking. It rained for the first hour of the tour which added to the experience. Our guide, PABLO, was so amazing. He is super knowledgeable, and able to spot things that without him, it would have been just any other walk in the rainforest 😋 and we would have missed seeing any learning about all the amazing creatures. He was also our driver from the resort and he was able to spot wildlife outside the window while driving and would stop to let us view them. PABLO is the best!! On this tour we saw monkeys, a sloth, eyelash vipers, white bats, a helmet headed iguana, and many other insects, flora and fauna. What an amazing day! Thank you!!
This was an amazing tour. Out guide, Joaquin, was very knowledgeable and explained all about the plants and animals in the rain forest. Our driver, Paolo, stopped along the way to point out toucans he saw in the trees. The bakery before and lunch after was also excellent. Would highly recommend this tour.
The most amazing experience ever! This place was so beautiful! The waterfalls were amazing, the water was amazing, and the rainforest was amazing! Big thank you to our tour guide and driver Pablo! He was knowledgeable, respectful, kind, and even helped us take some pictures. He answered all of our questions and helped make our trip amazing! I would 100% recommend this trip as a must see! The pictures I took were straight out of a fairytale.
Our rainforest tour with Sensoria was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Costa Rica. Pablo our guide was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made the three-hour drive to the rainforest fly by with his engaging conversation, sharing stories about the local culture, history, and environment that gave so much more meaning to our trip. He had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife and took the time to explain the importance of everything we saw, from the smallest insects to the tallest trees. We are so grateful we had Pablo as our guide and would highly recommend Sensoria to anyone looking for a deeper, more meaningful way to experience Costa Rica’s natural beauty.
Joaquin was a great guide for the rain forest hike. He was very knowledgeable. He did the hike at our pace. It was a wonderful experience if you go to Costa Rica. The meal was delicious after the hike.
By far the best experience we had while in Costa Rica. On the way to Sensoria we stopped at Merisal’s Bakery, they made us coffee and pastries. They were so friendly and engaging. When we left the bakery we headed to Sensoria, the road is low mainland very rough. Sensoria was absolutely beautiful. The guides were great with our two girls ages 5 and 9. The hike is beautiful. There are lots of stairs and some steep inclines down and back up, as long as you take your time and watch your steps you’ll be fine. The waterfalls and thermal pools were stunning. Crystal clear water but with beautiful blue tones. The walking steps up to the tree house are scary, super high up and the stairs sway back and forth with the movement. We never felt rushed to keep moving, it was very leisurely. My legs are definitely sore today!
Wow, what a remote and beautiful place! We had a great day with Daniel. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He also adapted the trip to meet the needs of our group. Thanks for a great experience.
What a magical, unforgettable experience. From the second we stepped foot on to the property, we were blown away. The entire property is *stunning* and everyone is so nice. The man who greeted us gave us a beautiful backstory and made us feel welcomed. Our guide, Joaquin, was SPECTACULAR. He explained so much about the forest and his passion was transmitted to both me and my boyfriend. The thermal pools were so beautiful. When I say magical, I mean it was life changing. To be in a volcanic thermal pool in the rain forest in Costa Rica! I felt so blessed. Thank you to everyone who works at Sensoria. Thank you Juaquin. Thank you, Magical Rain Forest. Do yourself a favor and don't skip this one. The forest has too much to learn from.
We had the wonderful opportunity to experience this truly magical place! Every sense came alive here—from the pure, refreshing oxygen in these lush forests and the breathtaking panoramic views from the treehouse platform to the soothing contrast of warm and cool water pools and the vibrant colors of the rivers. The sound of the waterfalls was like nature’s symphony, the food was absolutely delicious, and the kindness of the staff made everything even more special. This place is a true treasure, and we’ll carry these magical memories with us forever.
Nice short hike through young rainforest between 4 waterfalls with swim pools. Learned about the rainforest through the knowledgeable guide, felt safe, second guide at the back of the group. Lovely but advertised as a ‘senses experience’ but despite being in a small group it felt rushed. You walk from one waterfall to another (short hikes), and have 10 min to dip in, change, move on. It would be best to walk and see the waterfalls first and then swim and relax in one. Wonderful spot, great guides, lovely lunch and owners really care about this place but it did feel rushed, especially for the $205 US per person. They provided hiking poles and towels. You leave dry clothes in a provided locker.
Booked our tour through Amstar at Dreams Las Mareas resort in El Jobo, Costa Rica. Had the pleasure of meeting PABLO, what an amazing friendly down to earth good guy!! Very knowledgeable and provided us with in depth information about the all the beautiful wildlife at this paradise. Stopped many times along the way to provide photo shot opportunities in the moment. Made this day so special 🥰 it turn out to be our engagement! Highly recommend PABLO for great guiding service make sure to ask for him by name!! Dan & Fran

Our excursion with our wonderful guide, Pablo Escobar, was amazing. We had an amazing experience taking in all the sights and sounds of the rain forest thanks to Pablo’s great knowledge and experience. He took the time to make sure we saw all the animals and sights we could see. He went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful time with his recommendations. We loved seeing the beautiful country and would highly recommend Pablo as your guide.
The park, hikes and river entrances and overall experience is amazing. As a local from Costa Rica this is one of the most unique places I have visited.
This tour was everything we wanted it to be. Educational, peaceful, beautiful and fun. Our tour guide, Pablo, is the best guide we could’ve hoped for. He was quick with useful and interesting information, he clearly cares about and enjoys his job. I’m glad we took the tour. We also stopped at a local bakery on the way and the shopkeeper was lovely. She gave us a meal and the best coffee I’ve ever had. The waterfall was a great experience. There’s a blue hue to the water. Oh, and there are friendly cats in the main house. The pools are gorgeous, the trails are safe to walk on and we were cautioned against anything hazardous. I never felt unsafe or bored. The very last pool is the best. As someone who hates being cold, that water was the perfect temperature. Very warm. I was having some medical issues and Pablo was quite patient. When we got back, they had a meal waiting for us. It was excellent. We will be back.
This was a gorgeous/once in a lifetime experience. If you enjoy nature, this rainforest guide is for you. The hike was beautiful, the warm pools were sensational and the wildlife was breathtaking. It looks just like the photos. Pablo, our guide, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about Costa Rica and all the natural preserves. He showed us a slice of local life when we stopped at a local cafe and we enjoyed authentic Costa Rican cuisine. We could not have asked for a better guide! Ask for him by name!

We don’t think it was worth the drive or the money. This is a remote area with very bad roads. In comparison to other parks, we saw less wildlife and had better guides. Our guide was very distracted talking on his walkie talkie instead of focusing on us. Many times he was way ahead of us on the trail. It was disappointing. We felt like we were a burden. Place does have few swimming pools which are gorgeous and very refreshing. Lunch was delicious. Actual hike wasn’t too strenuous and we finished in 2 hours including swimming.
Sensoria is a beautiful and I highly recommend going. Joaquin is wonderful and enjoyed his passion for the forest. Amazing experience.
Our guide, Joaquin, did an excellent job making us feel comfortable and teaching us about the rain forest. He was refreshingly honest about what wildlife we could expect to see because, let’s face it, the wildlife is there to live in their habitat, not entertain us. He did not rush us when we went to the Buenos Aires waterfall and 3 different pools which were all AMAZING! The lunch afterwards was delicious and my favorite so far. Be aware that the road to Sensoria is rough at times but I can assure you it is 100%worth it.
The trip was as expected. The hike was not taxing and we finished everything in 3 hours. The driver Pablo was great as was the guide J who was great also. The volcano was visible at a great distance. The roads were brutal to get there.
Absolutely fantastic experience! Probably the highlight of our week long trip to Costa Rica. Our driver, Pablo, picked us up at our resort and was so friendly and knowledgeable. He shared a lot of interesting information on the ride to Sensoria. He even spotted a sloth on the way and pulled over so we could take photos. Our guide at Sensoria, Joaquin, was incredible! He was extremely knowledgeable and so passionate about sharing the beautiful rainforest and its flora/fauna with us. The pools were amazing and definitely an added bonus. We couldn’t have had a better day. Thank you Pablo and Joaquin!
We had a wonderful experience on our tour with Pablo. He started out as our driver, then unexpectedly also became or tourguide at Sensoria as well. He took time to show us toucans, sloths, monkeys, snakes, plants, and trees along the way. He was our own personal photographer and took excellent photos of our experience. The views, waterfalls, pools, and hikes were beautiful. All the provided food was also great. Pablo spoke English very well. I would recommend this tour for anyone looking for an authentic Costa Rica experience.
Our tour of Sensoria was led by our guide Joaquin. He was very knowledgeable, informative, and had a great sense of humor. Everyone we came across on our journey was kind, professional, and seemed to have their own deep connection to the land. Our private tour was tailored to our physical abilities and our safety and comfort levels were a big priority amongst Joaquin and other staff members. We felt as if the tour was specially crafted for each of us, opening our eyes to the true beauty of the Costa Rican rainforest. While bathing in the volcanic water and hot springs you can feel the healing energy of the land, it is a surreal experience like no other. I highly recommend this tour and cannot wait to travel back to Costa Rica so that I can book another experience with Sensoria.
The rainforest was breathtaking. Our guide Joaquín was so knowledgeable and caring about the forest, and would point out plants and animals we never would have noticed ourselves. We felt so lucky to have picked this excursion while we were in the country. If you want to experience and learn about a real rainforest, this is the way to go. The area is conserved, so "the forest is not here for you; it's just here."
Hi there. Kristina Diaz here. Thank you so much! Isabella and I had a wonderful time with you today. It was a very memorable experience and we will always remember our day in the rain forest and especially the sloth, the snakes and the white bats. Thank you for your incredible knowledge and for being so patient with us. We will definitely come back! We wish you much luck accomplishing your goals!
Amazing experience. Incredible place. Walk in the rainforest, we went to waterfalls, natural pools, and an amazing lunch. Just be careful in case you have limitations, I have bad knees and got worse because of the steps. But this is not on them, just my body that cannot handle.
What a fun experience! By husband and I took this tour during our honeymoon and just couldn’t get over it! Joaquin was our tour guide, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and fun to hike with. It was rainy for most of the hike, but that didn’t bother us at all- although I would recommend quick dry clothes. The thermal springs were gorgeous and the food at the base was excellent- our favorite meal from the trip (get the chicken and rice!!).
Prepare to be transported!! From the moment you hit the dirt road, your journey will be unlike anything you have done before! Our guides were incredibly attentive, the preparation and equipment were top-notch, and of course the snacks and sights were remarkable. For our family outing of eight, they split us into two groups; one more leisurely, and one more strenuous. It was absolutely perfect! For the oldest member of our group, the steps proved to be quite difficult and our guide was more than gracious to help! We were still able to see thermal pools and a waterfall at a more relaxed pace. Our family ranged from age 7 to age 80. The experience of being in this spectacular rainforest will not be forgotten! Must haves: aqua sox/keens or similar for the waterfalls and thermal pools, and loose fitting/ very lightweight hiking pants to pull over a wet bathing suit. Note of caution: the last 45 to 60 minutes of the drive are INCREDIBLY rough road. It seems that the Sensoria shuttle/ transportation is not adequate for the roads. It would be an amazing investment to have a higher clearance vehicle with larger shocks, struts, and off-road tires-or at least some thing all-wheel-drive just in case you get stuck!!
I will start off by saying that the actual Sensoria Land of the Senses is a beautiful and extremely well run place. If you can book with them through your resort, I would probably do that. I booked through here, a private tour, which cost over $700. That's a lot of money but I thought it would be worth it. Our booking was forgotten and when I tried to contact the operator, the number was invalid. Eventually, after roughly two hours, we were able to get contact and they sent a driver. The land of Sensoria nature guide told me he was informed last minute about our reservation so I know we were forgotten about. It greatly delayed our day and we spent the morning waiting around to be picked up and also trying to sort everything out after we realized what was happening. I'm not one to get upset, but this is the last thing I wanted to do on my Costa Rica trip. I probably should have confirmed my booking prior, however, it's not my job to keep up with it. Especially with how much money it was. You'd think we'd get some compensation but only excuses. Like I said, book through your resort if you can. It is an amazing place with amazing people.
Wow, definitely tell the best activity and experience we had so far in our Costa Rica trip this year. Pablo our tour guide was super kind, knowledgeable and great with my five year old. If you’re looking for a custom private tour to see waterfalls and pools of beautiful water so clear you can see the bottom at all times this is the place. A slice of heaven on earth. Thanks for a great memory, Pablo and Sensoria showed us bit of heaven on earth today. Thank you.
We had a tour guide all to ourselves! Joaquin Matarrita, Head Experience Creator, was so knowledgeable and fun! We had great conversations and learned so much about the rainforest. He had such a great eye for spotting creatures throughout the space! He was so patience with us as we needed to take extra breaks due to a person in our party being older with some health issues. He made the experience even more magical!
This was a fantastic hike in the rain forest. We traversed 4 miles, and went up and down 1300 steps. We cooled off in four different pools with waterfalls. The last one was actually a mineral spring with the waterfall pouring into it. We were fed a traditional Costa Rican breakfast snack on the way with pastries and the best coffee in the world. Our dinner was excellent. The best part of the trip was just being able to experience the rain forest. We saw Congo monkeys, white-faced monkeys, sloths, and several different varieties of venomous frogs. Isaac and Herberto, our guides, we’re very diligent. Everything ran on time, and they took good care of us. I would go back in a heartbeat.
This was an absolute highlight of our visit. We did the luxury plus tour and spent the day walking through a rainforest seeing a variety of animals like toucans, snakes, sloths, monkeys, etc. It was spectacular! Our guides Pedro & Issac were wonderful and very knowledgeable. The waterfalls did not disappoint. Thermal pool swimming was my favorite. We had a lovely lunch by one of the pools. We didn't get to do the lookout tower due to cloud cover, but saw so much else. We were picked up in Tamarindo and one thing I will say is to plan for a 12 hour day if you do this. 6 hours of driving, minimum depending on where you are. We were partially prepared for this, but thought it would be closer to 2 hours. I would suggest saying in Liberia and doing this tour from there to cut down on transit time and fully enjoy the pools and experience more. We might have stayed a little longer if we weren't facing a 3 hour drive home! But, all in all we are SO happy we did this and if we come back to Costa Rica we will absolutely stay in the rain forest more and explore there more as it was by far the highlight.
This place is beautiful. We saw tonnes of wildlife and the guides are incredible at picking it out. The pools are beautiful too. We also love the eco credentials and ethics of the place!
We drove rather than taking the shuttle and that added some extra adventure. The roads are largely dirt and rocks for much of the way and you will think you are lost, but it is worth it. The waterfalls and pools are amazing. The hike is not for those not in shape, but the rainforest is incredible and you get a view of the volcano from a platform above the canopy. The chicken and rice meal was also surprisingly good and make sure you try their coffee.
We had a very good time at Sensoria. The rainforest, waterfalls and scenery were beautiful. Our guide was a bit quiet but helpful and accommodating. We saw two waterfalls and were able to walk in them. The volcanic soils create the most clear and blue water we have ever seen. There were two plunge pools we were allowed to go in, as well as one thermal pool. Unfortunately the only wildlife we saw were some exotic birds and snakes (poisonous!). The property is in a type of land trust so it will not be disturbed with development, and they have motion cameras showing the wildlife within the park. The one downside is the ride to and from - horrible roads, very rough ride.
Sensoria was truly a highlight of our recent time in Costa Rica. The beauty and magic was elevated by our outstanding guide, Isaac. Thank you Isaac for making our visit remarkable. You are the Best!
Pablo and Johnny's vast sharing of knowledge with us was amazing. It was a living classroom. Once in a lifetime experience. The wildlife and the waterfalls were incredible. Our family all agreed the tour was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica.
The tour was so interesting and our driver/guide, Pablo, was so knowledgeable and helpful . His assistant was also excellent and the two of them really added the enjoyment of this beautiful place. The hike was a workout but worth it. Highly recommend.
This experience exceeded my expectations and it is all thanks to our amazing tour guide Isaac. He was very excited to show us pretty much everything the rainforest and the nature of Costa Rica had to show us. We saw THREE sloths the day of our tour in their natural habitat. He said we were very lucky....it's rare guests even ever see one! He knew so much about the water, the falls, the trees and every plant and creature. He truly is a nature lover and the best tour guide for us to really take in the whole experience. He was very patient with us and it was literally like we had the rainforest to ourselves. The food at the end was also delicious. I would have to say Isaac is the best tour guide we have ever had for all of our years of travel, and if you are a nature and lover, you will love this excursion! This exceeded our expectations. Thank you for a lifetime of memories. Pura Vida!
