Half Day Of Fun Filled Private Deep Sea Fishing - Evil Panda Boat

We had a great time with our family. The captain and crew were friendly and knowledgeable. The captain took photos and sent them to us via WhatsApp as the day progressed so we could focus on fishing. We also got to go swimming for a bit, and they were flexible with our kids about how much fishing or swimming we wanted to do. Snacks at the end were delicious!

Went out with them they overcharged us. They took over half our fish. They expected more money. They said we had to tip eachcrew member $100 on top of the $850 trip. They are scammers. They stole our fish and then when we went back and confronted them, they admitted to stealing our fish. I would never recommend these guys I would not go with them. I would blacklist them if I could. They take advantage of tourist they weigh overcharge them. They think you’re stupid and you’re not especially when you own a fishing company and you know how it works.

Absolutely amazing. The Evil Panda fishing boat and crew were great and I highly recommend this activity. We caught 8 black tuna, saw whales, dolphins, turtles, jumping fish. The crew cleaned our fish and served us ceviche on the boat and had the rest ready for us to take back to our resort. If I am back in that area, I will book this again!

We only caught one fish but saw several whales and had a wonderful time. The two man crew was fun and very hospitable. Only concern was coordinating the meeting spot so ask early for confirmation.

Felipe and Jose were exceptional hosts in board of the evil panda boat. They were incredibly accommodating, hospitable, and fantastic. We had a party of 5 people and it was literally the best day of our lives. We went for fishing but instead got greeted by probably 10 different whales on our journey! We also saw a baby whale, a sea turtle, and several dolphins! I highly recommend this tour!

These guys were great!!! They made it fun and easy!! They also had a great snack for us of fresh fruit and salsa prepared a few hours in. It was fabulous!

We had the most AMAZING fishing experience with Juan Carlos & Filipe!! We caught Mahi-mahi, tuna, and a massive Sailfish! The fishing incredible but in addition to that, the hospitality was 5 stars all on its own. They served some of the fresh catch as ceviche, fresh fruits, chips & salsa and many different types of beverages (the ceviche was honestly the BEST thing I ate during our entire two week trip.) If you want to go fishing in Costs Rica don’t use this company. I want to give zero stars for this company. My family of six booked this fishing excursion 6 months before our trip to Costa Rica. They contacted me once 6 months ago when I booked it. I tried to reach out on this app and their office number to confirm one week prior to our trip and again the day before. We had no response. We waiting at the meeting point for 2 hours and no one showed up. I called their office 4 times that morning and no response. My kids had waited 6 months to go fishing in Costa Rica and they were in tears when the boat didn’t show. It was the last day of our trip so there was no time to book with another company. I understand things come up but the company could have let us know a week ago that the trip wasn’t going to happen so we could book another excursion. Please don’t use this company. There are a lot of other fishing companies in the area with great reviews.

The crew was amazing and we enjoyed our time with Evil Panda. The boat was very comfortable and the cookies, cocktails, beer, patacones and salsa, and fruit platter were tasty! The fishing wasn’t popping, but they worked hard to get us all to catch some fish and took us to multiple areas to find where the fish were biting. We ended up getting tuna, snapper, trigger fish, and grouper and ate well that night! They also made sure to point out the wildlife and we got to see dolphins, mating sea turtles, flying fish, and pelicans. They were great with my kids, answering their questions and helping them to have a great time. It was a highlight of the trip for sure and we’d go back to them again if we are in the area.

Our family of 7, age 20-70, had the best day on the Evil Panda! The crew picked us up right on the beach closest to our accommodations, asked what we hoped for the day, and delivered on all our requests! Juan Carlos, Nicholas, and Carlos made us feel like family! After a 3 hour fishing trip, they brought us in to snorkel while they prepared a tasty lunch. We highly recommend this excursion! Thank you, Evil Panda for such a memorable experience.

A fun day out on the water with Nikolas and Juan Carlos aboard the Evil Panda! They were so kind and fun, working hard to find us marine life and fish. We didn’t get many bites, but when we did, it was exciting and we reeeled them in. We caught a Spanish Mackerel, a small black tuna and a beautiful Mahi Mahi. Nikolas filleted the Mackerel and made a delicious ceviche dish for our lunch. Music, fishing, sunny skies, we were never without a drink in hand and a great crew made for the perfect last day of our trip. Beware - Nikolas has a heavy pour and those drinks may sneak up on you 😜 We had part of the Mahi grilled by a beach side restaurant after we docked and sent the rest of the filets home with the guys to share with their families. We definitely recommend this trip!

I booked this excursion on June 23rd. I reached out on July 11th to confirm the excursion and confirm our pickup or meeting point and the tour guide immediately started trying to change our plans. Apparently someone “Double Booked” and even though I booked first and I was on his calendar he immediately went to accommodating his new customer “Vanessa” and asked if we wanted to do a evening excursion instead. I insisted on our original plans for my group since it would be our last day in town. Fast forward to July 14th, the company won’t answer txt or calls via WhatsApp and wouldn’t answer calls from Viator either. I WARN YOU, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS CHARTER. I think he chose his other customers because they may have paid cash in his pocket instead of using an agency, he tried to encourage me to cancel via Viator and pay in cash. I sent all the screenshots and correspondence to Viator. This company should be banned from listing on Viator or any TripAdvisor owned website. They’ll also tell you they can’t guarantee a catch, which I understand, but when you have a group paying you for an experience you should be more optimistic. Luckily as we walked back to our Airbnb, we ran into a guy offering excursions and he found us a captain and fishing charter immediately. We caught 3 yellow fin tuna, they filleted them, and even came to our airbnb and cooked us dinner. Best part of the trip! They also took us to multiple other beaches and we saw and fed monkeys, looked for lobsters, and enjoyed the beaches… there are better tours out there on the beach.

Got picked up at beach by our hotel. Everyone got to reel in fish (red snapper and grouper). Great snacks and beverages provided. Saw turtles mating and dolphins. Wonderful experience with Evil Panda crew!

Our charter boat experience was absolutely incredible. From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew made us feel welcome and at ease. Their expertise and knowledge of the area meant we were reeling in fish in no time. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, with plenty of space to relax between catches. Lunch was surprisingly delicious—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying after a morning on the water. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a beginner, this crew goes above and beyond to make the trip enjoyable. We laughed, learned, and brought home dinner. An unforgettable day on the water!

Zero stars. Failed to show for a confirmed booking. Booked four days ago for three kids and two parents, got up two hours prior to get ready, everything was confirmed but we never got picked up. Called and was told to cancel on our side. We did talk to someone who told us the third party booking company over books. If this company doesnt want to be listed on a 3rd party remove yourself. Horrible experience for us waiting doays on availability of the vendors calendar and they missed showing up. No chance to rebook as we leave tomorrow. Generous cancelation policy for the vendors with no refund 24 hours prior but nothing for the customer when they fail to do their job and show up for a booking.

We had a great half day fishing with Evil Panda. The crew was very friendly & helpful. Caught a big tuna & lots of red snapper & some smaller tuna. Enjoyed fresh fruit & tuna sashimi prepared by crew on the boat.

Amazing day fishing with this super fun crew! They picked us up right off the beach from our resort. All 5 of our party caught yellowfin tuna and mahi mahi. Dolphins swam all around us. So cool. Then the crew prepared a delicious snack with our catch. We totally recommend Evil Panda!

What a great group of guys. We had so much fun. They provided us with great food and drinks and were determined to get us on some great fish. My husband caught a sailfish and could not have been more elated. Best fishing charter out there!

Juan Carlos gave us an awesome experience fishing in the Pacific. A ton of Red snapper was caught but more than that a memory for my husband and son.

We caught 7 Black Tuna that they then cleaned and we enjoyed snacking on the fresh catch. They were very family friendly as we traveled with our 11 yo. Definitely recommend!

The crew was very nice. The size and success rate was less than expected fishing in Costa Rica. The crew seemed more excited about fishing themselves, than making it an enjoyable experience for the customer. Maybe we expected too much.

From first communication to the end of our trip, Evil Panda Fishing was exceptional. Great communication, great direction, great guides, everything was top-notch. We had a wonderful day of fishing, although we did not catch what we were trying for, mahi-mahi, we caught Blackfinn tuna, Red snapper, and grouper. Nickolas and Juan Carlos did not disappoint. We saw many whales, dolphins and sea turtles so it was a great day all around. We were very lucky to have Nicholas chop up some of the tuna and make a carpaccio that we enjoyed on the boat. I would highly recommend if visiting the area and looking for a fishing adventure you go with Evil Panda Fishing.

The evil panda fishing team was delightful to travel with. They were excellent guides and made certain we were very comfortable and provided drinks and some fruit for us. They helped us catch some lovely red snappers that we ended up having cooked at our resort which tasted incredible! Would recommend.

Juan and Nickolas were great tour guides. We weren’t very successful fisherman today. We could a few and it was fun. We also do a whale, dolphins, and turtle.

What a wonderful day of fishing! Wonderful crew who knew where the fish were and cleaned and fileted the mahi mahi and tuna that we brought home. Wonderful communication with the owner of the boat made everything about the day very easy. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing experience on the Evil Panda fishing tour. Waters were a little rough for fishing and only got one mahi mahi but we still made wonderful memories! We ended up going to an area to snorkel, paddle board and feed the monkeys. We were spoiled on this trip with great drinks (especially the pina coladas), snacks and they even prepared our mahi mahi for us as sashimi with chips, beans, salsa and delicious fruit. The crew was incredible and played fun “Costa Rica” music for us. Even though the fish didn’t bite, we loved every minute of our tour. Would highly recommend this company!

My family had a 4-hour morning boating experience in January 2024 with a snorkeling and beach trip. Our guides - Juan Carlos and Nicholas - were knowledgeable and friendly. They provided excellent snacks and drinks. They took us to multiple beautiful locations for snorkeling and provided us with all of the necessary equipment (masks, fins). Our snorkeling guide helped us to see many types of fish, sea urchins, turtles, and dolphins. We went to a nice beach that had very few other people and was a great location to have a drink and relax. It was the highlight of our family vacation to Costa Rica! I would highly recommend Evil Panda Fishing for a fantastic experience that you will remember for your lifetime!

Nicholas and captain Juan were absolutely accommodating to my family. They treated us like kings and queens. We got to snorkel, fish, tour sea caves, have a delicious lunch and got to view the beautiful coast near playa hermosa. I highly recommend, the boat was beautiful and comfortable. We had an absolute blast. My 9 year old son, his dad and myself loved our time on the evil panda fishing boat.

Our fishing guides were OUTSTANDING! Their friendly and fun personalities made this trip memorable along with their expertise. They were able to get us close enough to see four hump back whales, dolphins, a sea snake, and manta rays not to mention catching A LOT of fish!
