Guanacaste Snorkel And Sunset Cruise

We had a great time. Everything ran smoothly from being picked up at our hotel, to making on the boat. The food was delicious and everyone was friendly!

Kuna Vela Sailing was a great sunset sail and snorkel trip. The best skipper, Israel and first mate, Andres. we saw Turtles mating, dolphins leaping in front of the boat and got to sail back with 30-40 knot winds. Great time.

The customer service was excellent from the time we were picked up at our hotel, on our water taxi to the catamaran. The crew was so friendly, accommodating, and throughly explained what we’d be doing. The boat was gorgeous, fully stocked with whatever you wanted, We arrived at our snorkeling location, geared up, slid down a slide to get into the water and away we went. The water temperature was great, clear water, beautiful fish, and we saw an El Ray, a shark, sea turtle and it was like watching a Disney movie. As we were departing we were treated to a tasting bbq chicken, beans, rice, salsa, fresh fruit and chocolate chip cookies. This is a must do excursion. Pura Vida

We travelled during shoulder season and this was the best activity. The catamaran had a capacity of 75 and there were 20 of us onboard. The crew provided awesome service the entire time. Not only was it an open bar but they brought drinks right out to us on deck the whole time. The food was fantastic, not your typical excursion type food. The private beach was so neat. Calm water lots of fish during snorkeling even saw a pufferfish which I haven’t seen elsewhere yet. Overall, a great experience - 100% recommend.

We had such a good time. Not only did we have great piña coladas on the boat, but the snorkeling experience was amazing. We were on the most beautiful private beach and saw dolphins, blowfish, stingray, and many other types of fish while snorkeling. The food was good and we met some other great travellers on this experience.

We met Javier on the beach easily. The trip was one of our favorite activities of our whole trip. The whole crew was very welcoming and made the day so much fun. The food was wonderful (a big meal compared to the "light lunch" described). The ride was beautiful. The snorkeling was fantastic, we felt safe and like the whole trip was well organized. The open bar was a wonderful treat, and even my teenage son really enjoyed the smoothies.

This was a wonderful experience! The crew on the boat were so kind and accommodating, they were constantly checking in to see if we needed anytbing. The boat was clean and spacious despite all the people on board. The boat docked at a private beach where we were able to swim and snorkel. I would highly recommend this experience!!

A beautiful trip with plenty of time to snorkel or swim. Food was outstanding, unlimited bar with a huge variety of drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful getting I. & out of the water.

We followed all instructions for meetup and about 30 minutes after the scheduled start of the tour we were informed through Viator that the tour was cancelled. Frustrating to plan our day around this tour and have such a lack of communication and did not even find out until we inquired. Viator did nothing wrong but bummed to not get to experience this as it was too late in the day at that point to schedule a different boat tour.

It was a fun experience and we got see jumping mantarays (?) but the snorkelling wasn't too clear and didn't see much. We had some good drinks on board and had a great time overall.

I had planned to go with a friend but she got sick, so I was solo. I was picked up at my hotel by a lovely driver (Juan) who was very friendly. The boat staff were terrific and we had a good time snorkeling, with a tasty chicken lunch after. The sunset was beautiful and we even saw a whale breach. Highly recommend!

Great crew that takes you on an amazing, relaxing, and beautiful trip. Easy to find and wonderful communication. Snorkeling was so much fun and we saw tons of fish and sea critters. Excellent friendly service, the staff were constantly asking if everyone needs anything. The boat went to a beautiful snorkelling/swimming spot and ended with dolphin sightings and an iconic sunset view. The only thing that prevented a 5th star was that the boat a little too crowded. At the max of 75 it wasn’t easy to move around or get a great spot to sit. That said, I’d still recommend it!.

They don’t give you full information about what the experience will be like. I have taken several boat tours at different destinations and I was expecting to board at a dock. No. You wade through surf to a small boat that takes you to the catamaran. You will be instantly wet from the waist down as the waves crash over the front of the little boat. The message before the tour said wear deck shoes. It doesn’t matter what kind of shoes you wear since they take them from you when boarding the catamaran. There was no safety briefing about life vests locations etc, nor do they mention the stinging jellyfish. It doesn’t hurt that bad but it would be nice to know before. The boat anchored so far from the snorkeling spot that only 2 people out of 40 made it that far. Still, I did enjoy swimming in the ocean but we probably only had a total of 40 minutes to do that. We saw a whale and lots of dolphins, which was awesome until I realized they are luring the dolphins with something on a fishing line they cast behind the boat. Personally I would rather not see them than disrupt them like that. The food was chicken, rice, refried beans, chips and fruit. The drinks were endless.

This sunset cruise was the absolute highlight of our trip! Our group of eight was picked up and dropped off directly from our Airbnb, which made everything so easy and stress-free. The transportation was smooth, and once we arrived at the dock, the experience only got better. The boat itself was perfect- spacious and clean with a very well-stocked open bar, a comfy layout pad, and spotless bathrooms (a huge plus!). The amenities were honestly top-tier, but the real standout was the staff. They were incredible: fun, friendly, professional, and attentive. They were genuinely dedicated to making sure everyone was having a great time. The snorkeling was really enjoyable, and the lunch they served was light, fresh, and exactly what we needed after swimming and sun. And of course, the views during the sunset were unforgettable. It was so beautiful, someone even proposed (don’t worry, she said yes)! Truly an amazing experience from start to finish. If you’re visiting Costa Rica, do NOT skip this cruise! Highly, highly recommend.

Great views, lots of fun snorkeling for all family members. They provided free drinks, for adults and children. One meal and snacks throughout the cruise. The team was very friendly and accommadating to all guests. The kids enjoyed the attention from the crew dancing with them. The sunset was marvelously outstanding beautiful! Enjoyed it all!

It was my wife and I and our 2 kids(8 and 12) ours were the only kids on the boat. The crew were great with them and we all had an amazing time! We saw a school of stingrays along with many other big and small fish. It was great!

This snorkel and sunset cruise was one of the best experiences of our trip! Everything was well-organized, relaxed, and packed with memorable moments. The snorkeling was fantastic—I saw plenty of colorful fish, and then had the chance to go out with Rudy, who helped me find Conch, oysters, and even a sea star! It was such a fun and unique part of the experience. We also got to see bottlenose and spotted dolphins jumping near the boat, which was absolutely magical. The open bar kept the good vibes flowing, and the lunch was surprisingly delicious—way better than your typical boat cruise food. A definite highlight was jumping off the boat with crew members Jesus and Fabian, who brought such great energy to the trip. And of course, the views were breathtaking, especially as the day ended with an unbelievable sunset that felt straight out of a postcard. This cruise struck the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica—you won’t be disappointed!

The catamaran ride was fine. The snorkeling was subpar. Hardly any fish to see. And there was a long wait before we headed back. The food was definitely subpar.the sunset was nice

Such a fun and breathtaking experience! Loved sailing out into the waters and snorkeling — got to see some amazing underwater wildlife. Also got to witness the beautiful sunset while drinking from an open bar, and met some very friendly people. Highly recommend!

Sail and Snorkeling were amazing! Crew was very attentive, lunch was delicious and got to see lots of fish, a stingray, dolphins and a sea turtle. Upon leaving the dinghy from the catamaran to shore, we were the last group to board. Our transport to the hotel left without us and we were forced to pay $60 for a taxi to get back to our hotel. Very bad ending to an otherwise great night.

The sunset cruise and snorkel was the highlight of my trip! We were able to see angelfish, pufferfish, catfish and other fish while snorkeling. I loved that we got to see the sunset while on the boat. The food provided was good and the boat had a full bar with staffed bartenders which was great.

This was a great experience start to finish! The atmosphere was lively, service was attentive and fun, and I enjoyed bonding with the other people on the boat. On the way out to the island we saw jumping stingrays and dolphins swimming directly under the front of the boat. Snorkeling was accessible and fun - not really colorful coral, but tons of cool fish by the rocks. Highly recommend! Lunch was good and drinks were plentiful. I also had a delicious Mango Margarita at the meeting point bar, Alcon.

The whole trip was really amazing. We toad out for about an hour and then snorkeled (or just swam around and hung out in the water) for an hour. We saw tones of cool underwater creature. The food was great too! It’s a party on the boat, which was super fun.

from start to finish the sunset snorkel cruise was absolutely amazing. the crew was friendly professional and attentive, making sure everyone was having a good time. we saw marine life. once we got to the snorkeling spot the water was crystal clear and the beach was beautiful. the sunset was stunning. the food and drinks were delicious.

The catamaran was great, and the crew were helpful and competent. We were able to see dolphins and sting rays. The whole trip was fun and relaxing. The snorkeling itself was a bit underwhelming, turbid water and not a lot to see, but we were warned that February is not the best time for snorkeling so we had kept our hopes low.

There wasn't enough snorkeling equipment. The fact that this tour literally has snorkel in its name, and that they know the amount of people that will be on the tour before heading out, I just can't see any valid reason for this. It's not the end of the world, but when traveling on a budget, every penny spent is carefully planned. Our group got to pick two tours to do during our Costa Rica Trip, and snorkeling was at the top of the activity list us. It was the entire reason for booking this tour. Waited in line to get our snorkeling equipment only to be told when we finally get the front that there is no more, and we and the people in line behind us could have pool noodles instead. If one of the main purposes of your tour is to take people to go snorkeling, you should have enough equipment on board for all passengers.

A great afternoon on the water. Great drinks and food! Staff was wonderful! The snorkeling wasn’t the best because the water wasn’t very clear. But we still stayed in and enjoyed the water for almost 2 hours!

I appreciated being picked up at our hotel for this excursion, however, people from the other hotel that we were picking up from weren't ready on time so we spent quite a bit of time waiting on them. We were dropped off right at the Coco Beach location that we were to take the dingy boat to the catamaran. Food was amazing on board and the snorkeling was okay (just not much to see). The boat crew was very friendly and it was a gorgeous sunset! Super fun experience for my family!

The entire excursion was a blast. The ride to the cove where we swam was relaxing and the views were amazing. Once we got to the cove I snorkeled, saw lots of beautiful fish, my wife and daughter swam and we all jumped off the side of the boat. We met some great people from our home state which was nice and drank margaritas, piña coladas and strawberry daiquiris. The food was good and the crew was awesome. I’d definitely book this tour again.

Great excursion & the catamaran is quite nice. Dillon was awesome & serviced us with drinks around the clock with a smile on his face. I do feel the music could have been better. Only Latin music was played on the first stretch…I feel they could mix it more with R&B, easy listening & pop music. Also the food was quite tasty. Overall a good excursion. Didn’t snorkel so no review on that part, we just chilled on the catamaran.

This was a great way to end our trip to Costa Rica. The crew was fun, the drinks were good on the open bar, and we saw a lot of wildlife.

The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We were in good hands. Snorkeling was very sub par. Don't expect to see much in the murky waters. Sunset was amazingly beautiful though and there was plenty of drink and fun. Food was ok.

It was a very relaxing day, we saw sting rays and multiple colored fish. The captain positioned the boat perfectly to watch a spectacular sunset. The lunch provided was tasty, the music was fun, the crew was excellent! We met alot of people and enjoyed a nice relaxing day together.

Very fantastic. We saw two manta rays, angel fish, a pufferfish and several coral types. The boat ride was beautiful with an open bar and dinner with a sunset view of the various islands. The staff was superb and helpful and overall a grand time on a catamaran. Definitely good value for the overall experience! Thank you gracious hosts!!
