Catamaran Snorkeling & Sunset Sailing Tour

Wonderful trip! Meeting location was described in booking and they will send you the location via maps. Easy to get to. The crew were so nice and knowledgeable of the area. They helped point out wildlife and landmarks. We saw sea turtles and dolphins from the catamaran and puffer fish while snorkeling. Would definitely recommend to others.

Everything was spectacular from the initial meeting instructions, cruising to the snorkel spot, snorkeling, meal spread, sunset cruise (with bonus rainbow on shore), to disembarkation. Highly recommend!

Great crew very helpful and attentive. Lovely scenery, wonderful views of nature stingrays, turtles and fish. The food was delicious. Luis the bartender makes excellent drinks even virgin ones for the kids and non drinkers. This is a must do!

This tour was a great experience. The staff was attentive and made sure everyone had what they needed. As a solo traveler, I felt comfortable going by myself. There were other solo travelers too. There was plenty of food to eat and it was pretty good. They made sure everyone had plenty to drink as well. The tour ran a little bit long, but it was fine especially if you’re enjoying the experience. Many people enjoyed the snorkeling and swimming I opted to stay on the boat and enjoy the views. The trip was well worth the money for families, couples, and solo travelers.

Awesome day and experience with the Marlin Del Rey crew. They were highly professional and kept things fun, safe, and highly hospitable. We went out cruising and stopped at a swim spot where we snorkeled and looked at fish on a small island. Once it was time to board the boat again, a delicious feast awaited us and it hit the spot after all the swimming. Then we set sail back to the mainland while taking in a beautiful sunset. The entire experience was highly positive and totally worth it! Thanks MDR crew!

Really nice way to end my vacation in Costa Rica. One of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen! Also we were lucky and had multiple dolphins showing off for us during sail. The crew was great, the food was great, highly recommend :)

We highly recommend this experience! The crew was super professional and handled everything smoothly. It was a fun, energetic vibe throughout. The bar service was fantastic, we enjoyed the break for snorkeling, and the cruise back to watch the sunset was perfectly timed. This felt like a really good value and we left with great memories!

Bring what they suggest. It’s about an hours boat trip to where they take you to go snorkeling. Snorkeling wasn’t all that great, but the boat ride was. Still got to swim and there’s a beach that you can swim too if you want. On the way back we ran across a small school of bottlenose dolphins. After that, we started heading back until just before sunset where they turned the boat do we west and we got to see an amazing sunset on the water. It’s a nice, relaxing day. The crew was awesome. The drinks flowed all day! Well worth the price of admission.

We had such a great time. The instructions were very clear on how to get there and we left right on time. The crew was great, always made sure we were comfortable and had a drink in our hand. At one point the captain guided the boat so we were surrounded by dolphins. We went to a secluded beach and saw many fish and a sting ray while snorkeling. The sunset was beautiful on our way back. We had a great time.

We had a wonderful sunset tour. Less tourists this time and only felt like there was about 25 people on the boat. The fabric straps on the front of the boat appeared more worn than other catamarans we've done. Only notice this because we spent most of our time on the front of the boat. About a one hour motor Cruise out to the snorkeling site. Snorkeling is not super impressive but fun if you haven't done it yet. Great pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris unlimited. Decent lunch after snorkeling which was filling with beans rice fruit chocolate chip cookies and chips and pico. We just cruised straight back and got to see the sunset. Didn't have enough wind for the sales this time.

Absolutely amazing experience. Staff was great - so attentive and helpful. Food was great! Snorkeling was amazing - we saw eagle rays, sea snake, puffer fish, and so many other colorful fish! On the way to our snorkeling spot, we ran into a large pod of dolphins and it was amazing. HIGHLY recommend. 10/10..

Had a great time with this activity! The crew was super friendly, punctual, and real treat! We had a good crew on the boat that was attentive and personable. The drinks were delicious! The food was ok, but filled you up. The snorkeling portion was fun and lasted about 1:20 minutes or so. We had about 1/2 capacity on the boat, which gave us a little wiggle room and space to enjoy. Would recommend!

From the moment we set sail, the ocean felt like a living dream unfolding around us. We spent a perfect day drifting along the Costa Rican coast, where time seemed to slow, and everything shimmered with Pura Vida. The opportunity to swim and snorkel in the warm, inviting waters was pure joy, like slipping into another world beneath the waves. We had an interesting time meeting new people from around the world. As we sailed further into the open sea, dolphins appeared and reminded us how truly magical the ocean is. After swimming and snorkelling, we were welcomed back on board with warmth and kindness, sharing a delicious traditional Costa Rican meal that felt both comforting and authentic, a true taste of the country's heart. And then came the sunset. The sky melted into gold and coral. It was a very memorable and unforgettable day. This tour is a truly beautiful day from beginning to end — peaceful, joyful, and filled with wonder. An experience we will carry with us long after the waves fade from memory. My daughter said it was her favourite tour. Absolutely recommend.

We had an amazing time. We had a group of 9 and it was totally worth it. The staff was incredible and super nice. Never went without a drink in my hand because they were so on it. Would do this excursion again in a heartbeat.

We bought tickets for 4 hours of boating, drinks and snorkeling..this experience went above and beyond our expectations! The open bar made most amazing drinks and quick! With one bartender I wasn't sure but wow! The food- incredible. The snorking was awesome. We went to a clean crystal clear beach where we seen sooo many manterays. Something stung my arm and when I returned to the boat one of the staff got me something on a paper towel that made the marks on my arm disappear. The staff was awesome and even took us to the spots and pointed out all the wildlife - dolphins , sea turtles and more. They were friendly and informative! Can't rave more about this trip! Me and my 3 friends went on many different catermarans(mind my spelling) and we all agreed this one was by far the best! Thank you so much !

A beautiful afternoon in every way. I am a solo traveller and felt very well looked after. Swimming was amazing and being on the water for a sunset cound not be better.

Definitely worth the price. I booked this for two, then found out an hour before the departure time that my boyfriend cheated on me. I broke up with him and went on the boat tour as planned-- it was awesome all by myself! There were probably about 50 people on board, but it felt decently spacious. There are seating options on deck, but also inside if you want to stay out of the sun. We sailed pretty far out from Coco Beach to a smaller beach on a little island. This took about an hour and a half. Then we had the option of taking the dingy to shore or snorkeling. I snorkeled for a bit, but then hung out on the shore for the rest of the time. The open bar is fantastic, the staff were super personable and attentive always asking if they could get you a new beverage. We had a great meal as well!! I would definitely do this experience again as it was beautiful, relaxing, and stress-free; just what I needed.

Spot on from the very beginning, beverages and lunch were fantastic, they were attentive to all guests. Clean and well organized. Good instruction and very safe for small children. Super fun crew.

This experience was ok. Not great. The good parts were that the staff was awesome! Very attentive and nice. There is plenty of room to get out of the sun if you want. The booze is free. The ride there and back was smooth. The bad parts were it's supposed to be a snorkeling experience but they brought to a place with absolutely zero visibility in the water. There were about 65 people on board and probably 20 of us got stung by jellyfish there. I would like to say that that's not controllable but the staff were not shocked at all and had a huge container of vinegar they were putting on paper towels and passing out to people that were stung. So it seems like the worst possible area to be bringing people to get in the water. They also said on arrival "you can snorkel if you want" like that's not how it's advertised. So it just seemed like it was not an ideal snorkeling place as advertised and like they knew that but charge and bring people anyway. It was basically a ride around drinking day, so if that's all you're looking for it's ok.

This was my favorite experience on our 7-day trip! You get great value for your money, and the staff were amazing. Highly recommend :)

We had such a blast!! The boat was the perfect size and not too crowded. The staff and food was amazing! Great hospitality, the beach they took us to was private, and the sunset was full of dolphins.

The snorkeling and sunset tour was incredible. The boat ride was fun and adventurous and the scenery was absolutely stunning. The crew made the experience even better with great energy l along the way. Highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Costa Rica, literally a must see.

Had such a wonderful afternoon on our catamaran snorkel tour! From start to finish this experience and the crew was first class. The relaxing ride, beautiful scenery, open bar with delicious cocktails, fun snorkel, delicious lunch and finally the beautiful sunset made our trip amazing. Far exceeded our expectations! We had the best time on our sunset cruise! The catamaran was clean, the staff were so friendly and fun, the lunch was yummy, and the bar had a ton of options. The excursion was well-organized. We felt safe and cared for. Whenever a whale was nearby, they cut the engine and the music for the well-being of the animals (and this allowed us to observe those gorgeous creatures). We had a perfect afternoon and would highly recommend taking a cruise with Marlin del Rey!

This sailing and snorkeling trip was advertised as "private." It said a group of 5. We paid for 5, even though there were only 3 of us. We showed up and it was a group of 40-48 people. Not very "private."

It’s great fun! Good drinks, music & food! The boat was great / we saw a whale & her baby. If you don’t snorkel the staff took you to the beach on one of the smaller boats!

If I could leave a 10 star I would. My husband and I loved our afternoon! The crew was so attentive and friendly, Luis the bartender was fantastic! The boat was very clean and well maintained. The sunset on the water was gorgeous! The whole experience exceeded our expectations. We’d do it again, no question. I highly recommended it!
