Catamaran Sailing & Snorkeling From Playas Del Coco

I had a great time on this tour. There was plenty of food and a ton of drinks to go around. The sights were spectacular. I had a great time swimming in the water and tanning on the catamaran. I would definitely book again when I’m in Costa Rica.

Still thinking about yesterday’s snorkeling adventure with Captain Dilan am his amazing staff 🐠 What an unreal experience. They guided us through the most beautiful underwater spots, helped me capture everything on my Insta360, and made the whole experience unforgettable. Grateful for the memories, the videos, and the chance to experience the underwater world in such a special way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our catamaran trip. The crew were friendly and helpful, always checking if we needed anything. Snorkeling was great, saw many stingrays and on the way back we saw jumping dolphins which was amazing. The lunch was delicious and seeing the sunset as we came back to the bat was memorable.

I had an amazing time on this beautiful ship. The ship was clean, the crew members were friendly, and the good yummy! Every little detail had the guests comfort and experience in mind. I saw this most beautiful sunset on the ocean and dolphins were swimming next to our boat. What an amazing experience. Highly recommend!

Great way to spend the afternoon! On a boat, with an open bar, potential to make new friends, snorkeling was nice with a guide there to point out things you might miss, and yummy food for after the snorkeling. The guys on board are great! Luis, the bartender, is quick at keeping up with the delicious cocktails. You can’t go wrong- book the tour :)

This was one of our kids top events from our entire trip. They had a wonderful time snorkeling, and while we didn’t see any whales, we did see several pods of dolphins.

The snorkeling part wasn’t the greatest as far as seeing a lot of fish..but the time you have swimming, jumping off the boat, or relaxing on the beach was still worth it. What made this trip a five star (would give it a 10 if it was out of a 10) was the dolphins we got to see, the sunset, and the entire crew on the boat go above and beyond to make sure you are safe and having a great time. The lunch was delicious and the drinks were flowing.

It was a lot of fun being on the water in perfect weather! One thing is that transportation to and from the venue should be offered as an option.

This was the highlight of our visit to Coco Beach. The crew was very professional, there was plenty of room for everyone to move about, change seating areas, and the food was pretty good. There was a long stop in a beautiful bay area for snorkeling or floating around on noodles -- really spectacular! And (!!) a whale was sighted about an hour into the trip. We thought the music was too loud, but overall, this was a great experience. You will take your shoes off on boarding.

Great experience! The crew was amazing and very tentative. They always made sure we had a drink in our hand the whole time. Price was reasonable and we found the experience very worth it.

Amazing experience supper nice staff always ready to serve the guests and supper friendly. The view was amazing.

This is a must if you are traveling to the Guanacaste region. They will tender you to the boat, provide ample seating. Bring a cushion if you’re not comfortable sitting on hard surfaces. The boat takes off and we saw humpback whales, dolphins, and beautiful coastlines. They will take you to a cove to swim , snorkel, or even tender you to the beach for a hour and a half. During this time the chicken and sides will be put out. Food is pretty good it was chicken , rice, beans, pico de gallo, and chips. They also make chocolate chip cookies and fruit. The bartenders are great and they will make almost anything you like. A lot of pina coladas and margaritas were going out. They even stop for the sunset and will take photos of you. Truly worth the price and a great way to see the coastline of Liberia.

This was a very laid-back, fun vibe. When you get to the snorkeling/beach they let you go completely free or spend time jumping from the boat. Great meal, music, and crew. The sunset was absolutely breathtaking and seeing it perfectly in the horizon, watching for the green flash, was a top tier experience!

Fun afternoon on the water. 75 guests which was more than I anticipated. Staff were very friendly and hard working. Beautiful sunset. Lots of drinks but no craziness. Snorkeling was ok —lots of little fish but the coral is dead.

It was a lovely trip. The crew was great. Food was absolutely brilliant. 4.5 * because snorkel was faulty and I could not snorkel.

Left my damn brand new camera and one of the crew members must’ve pocketed it :( Beware of leaving things on board!

Really terrific experience. Very low key, staff on boat were very friendly and took great care of us. We were a family of 5 with 3 kids in their 20's. We all had a great time. We've been on several different snorkeling excursions and this was one of the top!

Service and drinks were incredible right off the start, snorkelling spot was well chosen and we saw many colourful fish, an eel, and an octopus. Beautiful sunset on the cruise home.

Marlin del Rey Sailing tour exceeds our expectations. They crew delivers ! From pick up at Playa del Coco to the Catamaran and back went smoothly.Accommodating and friendly. And this is by far they best sunset cruise I have ever been. A stunning vibrant colors in the sky as the sun deeps into the horizon.

The attention from staff was lovely. Best Costa Rican version of a bloody Mary I've ever had. The trip to the snorkeling area was beautiful and the breadth of sealife seen was amazing. We were treated to a pod of dolphins following us and playing with their babies. The facilities were clean and plenty of space to go below deck when the sun became too much. Overall a fabulous experience.

This was a fantastic excursion beginning to end! The staff was amazing, the boat was so fun, scenery was beautiful, we saw sea turtles within 5 minutes, dolphins swam alongside the boat, snorkeling was fantastic. So much wildlife to see. Highly recommend the morning trip for the turtles and dolphins. The drinks and food were delicious, lunch prepared by the staff. Such a fun day!

The staff was amazing. They provided a brief safety overview and they were prompt in getting us underway on time. The boat had a men’s and a women’s bathroom (1 stall each). The boat was equipped to handle well in wind and choppy water. The captain was very good. The experience was fabulous. Memories to last a lifetime.

The boat ride was nice and the workers were nice as well, but if you’re expecting a snorkeling experience, I wouldn’t recommend, all I saw was branches. I didn’t see any fishes and the beach was dirty. if you’re looking for a nice boat ride with free drinks and food go for it.

My wife and I had a great time very nice boat, attentive staff and the food was surprisingly good. Also a nice snorkel spot, head over to the rocks. Thanks guys

Amazing! We’ve done a few boat tours in other countries and this one was the best. Staff kept offering drinks and good vibes. Highly suggest the sunset tour. The ride home was 10/10 We saw whales, marlins, and caught fish on the way

The catamaran has lots of different spaces to sit both in the sun and in the shade. It is very clean and safe. The crew were all very friendly and helpful. The drinks and food are amazing. We went to a private bay with a beach for snorkelling and swimming. On the way back we saw a pod of dolphins swimming and one of the passengers from our tour caught and released a fish. We watched the sun set and then were taken back to shore. It was well worth the cost and would highly recommend this tour

The best day! Loved the secluded beach and snorkeling area, very beautiful and private. Delicious drinks and lunch on board. Sailing back at sunset was so pretty! Staff super helpful and friendly! A great way to spend an afternoon.

The crew was amazing and helpful. The food was great as well as the open bar. Cocktails were freshly made and delicious. Prepare yourself with some sunscreen and prepare to have a great time.

Everyone was very kind and fun to spend the day with. We had 3 people in their 70’s and one child and we had a blast. The food was amazing and the beach and views were breathtaking!!

Awesome experience well worth the price. The crew was attentive and had great customer service. We got to experience Costa Rica at its finest.

It was a nice trip. Several of the crew members were extremely helpful and friendly. The drinks and food situation was good. The music was better suited to a late-night club, and most fellow guests were happy drinking and sitting in the sun. It was beautiful. The snorkeling was OK - I don't get the impression it is the strong suit of this area. My main disappointment was that we did absolutely no sailing, even though "what to expect" on website said "After lunch we pull anchor, raise the sails and casually motor sail across the bay and back towards Playas del Coco." I love sailing so missing that was a major disappointment.

The cruise and the crew were great! The bartender was awesome and the lunch delicious! We caught a beautiful sunset as well. I didn't snorkel, but heard it was great too. Highly recommend this tour!

Great crew. Too crowded. There were three full shuttle boats to the ship. Two was enough. I can understand it is more profitable but at the expense of being more enjoyable for the tourists.

Great catamaran sailing trip, and best bloody Mary's hands down! Perfect sailing day and beautiful sunset. The crew was great and had a nice buffet. I gave 4 stars but would give 4 1/2 and this is only due to snorkeling.... I realize its not the Caribbean, but I did expect a little better snorkeling- Overall it was a nice cruise and drinking excursion.

Fun. The staff were really helpful and accommodating. Made the trip fun even though the water was really murky and I didn’t see many fish.

Even though there were 70 of us on the boat, it never felt crowded and there was space to move around freely. The bar was well-stocked with named brands and the staff were very attentive wandering around the boat, spotting empty glasses and taking them away to be refilled! The beach where we anchored for the snorkelling was beautiful, though the visibility once in the water wasn’t great, but that’s nature of nature I guess! The food was tasty and plentiful and when we spotted dolphins on the return leg, the skipper spun the boat around so that we could go and see them again. The sunset was beautiful and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Definitely recommended.

BEWARE this tour does not leave from the location indicated on the address. If you cannot find the correct location, causing you to be late, the boat will leave without you, despite chasing it down with a jet ski and will not issue you a refund.

The experience was seamless, the boat ride was lovely, food and drinks were good. Experience will change with the weather so try to coordinate on a good weather day. We had lots of wind and not much of a sunset. The island time was super fun, we wished it was longer.

So beautiful and what an experience. We wanted a catamaran tour with free drinks and fun and we definitely got that. The drinks were flowing, the music was great, the views were amazing, and the food was excellent. We went swimming and snorkeling for a bit. The water was calm and you could stand halfway from the boat to shore. Such a great experience. We met great people and would definitely do this again.

I booked this with a group of friends and we had an amazing time!! Everyone on the boat was extremely friendly, we had a great time snorkeling and we caught an amazing sunset on the way home. It was a great value- We took full advantage of the open bar and the lunch was perfect. Would definitely book this again!

Great hosts and company aboard the catamaran. The whole family enjoyed the day even if we did get a fair bit of rain. My daughter enjoyed the ride on the catamaran and did a small amount of snorkeling with kids sized equipment.

First let me say the crew was fantastic. The women's bathroom had an awful smell that if you sat on the that side it smelled horrible and because it started raining and thundering really bad everyone was forced to stay inside so it was not an enjoyable time. We didn't get to snorkel for long because of the weather so I did not have a good time.
