One of the coolest zip lining experiences in terms of the views - going through the canyon in the second half with the waterfall was awesome! It was also very convenient because it started and ended at our resort (hacienda guachipelin). However, it felt much more like a zip lining factory than a tour or experience. We had 4 adults and 4 young children zip lining for the first time. On other zip lining tours I've done, we have. A dedicated guide and a small group of 10-14 people max and you felt safe and not rushed. This experience was more like a zip lining factory where we lined up and were rushed through each line. Most of the time we started the line before the person ahead of us was even off. There was 1 worker at points doing both the push off AND take off, sometimes missing people coming in from the Tarzan swing. It felt understaffed. We waited on the other side of the Tarzan swing for a long time with scared kids while apparently waiting for someone to come man the next zip line. Although it was really cool, I didn't feel like it was completely safe.

This is an amazing experience. The staff is terrific, the facilities superb, the food is superior. It's our Third time. It's never enough.
The whole day of adventures were well organized and ran smoothly!
An excellent experience and we always felt very safe and secure.
Length of the tour was only 1 hour But the promise was for 2 hours You guys lied for the sake of money Should refund half my money
It was the best zip line tour we’ve ever done! It was super long, beautiful & fun!! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they told us not to bring our cell phones & then tried to sell us a photo/video package.
We stayed at the Hacienda Hotel Gauchipelin for a few days and on our last day we signed up to do the Canyon canopy tour. Because it was late in the day it was just my son and I on the tour. Three guides Edward, Brayan and Harroll were excellent! They pointed out animals to us, they were patient and we had a lot of laughs. They encouraged us to zip upside down and hands free! My entire trip to Costa Rica, I kept saying “this is amazing” but this small group of canyon canopy tour was truly the most amazing part. Adrenaline pumping, great views and doing something that scares you just a little bit. I can’t recommend this tour enough.
Loved this tour! Unexpectedly beautiful course through a gorgeous river canyon, including a rock climb and rappel, Tarzan swing across the canyon (!!), and 9 zip lines! Wonderful friendly team. A not-to-miss experience.
Fantastic experience! The guides are friendly, helpful, skilled and funny. We also did the horseback ride and white-water tubing and had the same exceptional experience. We would all go back again.
There were a ton of zip lines to enjoy; I think 9 in total! We began with the longest line, and went through several more than just zip lines. There was a narrow 'canyon' in which we rappelled down and then used hand and foot holds to clim back up, as well as a Tarzan swing. My 7 YO son was terrified, so the staff allowed him to 'zip' tandem with me. It was a really fun experience.
Excellent guides and experience! 10 Stars! Everything was perfect and the team was very friendly. This is our second visit to this amazing place!
Amazing canyon views over the river and streams. The guides were great and we didn’t have to wait long in between ziplines. I only wished I would have been able to take more pics. There was a photographer which was nice for pics of our group, but pics of the landscape and water features would have been great too.
My family did the Half Day Canopy Tour as well as the Tubing. We are able to do all that in one day. Tubing was the best activity we did - our youngest was 10 and had a blast! The ziplining was amazing as well - the scenery of the waterfalls, or gorge was breathtaking. Staff was very professional. Would definitely come back!
This is the second time I have gone on this tour. The first time was with adults and teen boys. This second time was with 11years on up, boys, and girls, and adults that weren't in great shape. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the day. It was everyone's favorite day. The zip lining and water rafting were the favorites! Lunch was very good also.
This by far was the best part of our family trip to Costa Rica. It rained heavily during our journey, which honestly added to the fun. The guides were amazing, putting my families safety first but also goofing around with us to to take off some of the edge for those who were a little nervous! You start off over a tree canopy, and then next thing you know your zip lining through a canyon over a river. My family had 7 people ranging from 10 yrs old to 62. Anthony (Tony) was a great guide, thank you ! Can’t wait to come back! Pura Vida!
The zip lines are great here through the canyon it’s beautiful. I highly recommended the tubing. I’ve actually done this a few times with friends and family and love it every time. Horseback riding I can pass on, it’s hot, the horses are hot etc. but the waterfall you go to is pretty cool.
I wanted to give this day and all the adventures 5 stars as there were several pieces that were indeed 5 stars! The guides for the tubing and zip lines are incredible! Knowledgable, patient, friendly and made you feel very comfortable and safe, coming from Boulder, Colorado I can say they use solid equipment. We felt very safe on both of those activities. The horse back riding however was not well coordinated, there was very little instruction and not much time spent on checking that everyone was safely mounted. Noone knew what to do if a horse went rogue which did happen. The environment is very pretty though I had hoped for more colorful landscaping. The HotSprings are a bit over hyped, and the Mud Bath is a definite "pass". The food at lunch was basic though there were good choices for a variety of tastes. The most unfortunate part was you get mixed information from staff, some say do not bring anything with you, no camera, no phone, no snacks etc. This was not the case as several other people had their phones, Go Pros and cameras to capture their experiences. It was upsetting that the only photos you could get of your day is by purchasing them from the dedicated photographers for $50-$60 US dollars. That actually would have been ok if you were allowed to preview your photos (they do show you some from one activity) but if you do not like those they pretty much move on to the next person who is willing to pay sight unseen. All in all it is worth the price to do the all day adventure.
Eighteen winners of a sales contest traveled to Costa Rica for a week. We had a great time on the tour! A full day of fun in the sun. The tour crew was the best of the best! Safety conscious, fun and very personable! The ziplining area was gorgeous while thrilling to fly over the trees and down the beautiful canyon where the river flows. The time spent ziplining was just right! The horseback riding was slow and low key. The horses were a delight and waterfalls beautiful! The hot pools and mud bath were fun even if it was 98 degrees and the hot pools were 98-104 degrees! The mud bath isn't really a "bath", but smearing mud all over yourself was a new experience. The river was refreshing to cool off in. The lunch buffet was good-get there early to avoid the lines. Our tour guide gave us great tips, historical information and provided much needed cold water. We highly recommend this adventure and buy the photo package! They capture all of the fun for you.
this was my first time zip lining and i was really afraid. but the professional staff welcomed you every step of the way, ensured your safety and made the experience thrilling and yet pleasant
Wow, what an experience! The spectacular setting (in a canyon with a river below, within a forest) makes this a must-do if you are in the area. Luis and his team were professional, patient, and put safety first. We booked the 3pm slot which luckily turned out to be a small group of four, which means that we got a private experience. The tour started with zip lining over the forest canopy and then into the canyon. Within the canyon we did the rappel, rope swing, natural rock climb, and more zip lines, ending with walking a hanging bridge. Throughout, Luis and his team were friendly, calm, attentive to our safety, and explained and reminded us what to do. One person in the group who is a rock climber said that this is one of the best setting he has ever had for ziplining. Excellent, highly recommended!
Our family really enjoyed our canopy tour with Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin. I'd been on a couple canopy tours before, and the routes on this one were really well chosen through a beautiful canyon. The staff were very professional and attentive: we felt perfectly safe leaving our children (ages 5 and 8) in their hands, and the guides handled all transitions between cables and platforms, so there's no danger of falling. The only downside was the tour's popularity. I don't know if it's typical, but there were lots of other people (60 or so?) at our reservation time. The guides kept the line moving fairly quickly, but there were occasionally waits. For planning purposes, or setting expectations for kids, in our 2 hour canopy tour there were about 15 minutes of getting equipment on and safety briefing, 45 minutes of waiting in line (mostly at the beginning), and 30 minutes of going through the course. There were seven zip line runs, a swing from one platform to another, a (short, optional) rappel/rock-climb (with artificial holds, doable by anyone who could climb a ladder), and a short amount of walking through the woods.
Everyone working for this tour company is both professional and welcoming. It was obvious to both my husband and I that the employees were concerned for our safety and our enjoyment at the same time. The course is fun and fast! I’d easily do another experience with them if I am ever lucky enough to be back !
The staff was amazing! The activities were all done on sight, it was a beautiful day for all the activities. First was horseback riding, then tubing. Stopped for a wonderful lunch buffet. Continued on with zip lining , canyoning, and Tarzan jump. Great photographers as well. Highly recommend!
Our family of 4 had an AMAZING time on this tour last week. Our one teen was a little reluctant after a not great ziplining experience in Canada, but after the first zipline on this tour, he was so thrilled and loved it! We left early and had the advantage of being just the 4 of us with 2 guides. This felt like a very lucky experience for us, as we didn't have to wait "in line" for a large group. The guides were fun, safe, kind and really looked after us well. We loved the diversity of lines, views, rapelling, climbing and the tarrzan swing and pendulum zip. We have ziplined in many locations , and this was one of our favourite. The canyon is truly stunning and we are so thankful for this experience! Beacuse our group was small, we were finished early, so were able to spend more time at the pool/resport before we headed off to our next adventure. Well done team! A well run operation! We would love to come back and will recommend to our friends and fellow travellers!
Edward and Jose were our guides and they went above and beyond to ensure our safety. They were able to engage with all of us. We had a memorable family trip zipping through the canopy. Thank you to our fantastic guides!
First time doing zip lines 😊amazing experience at the grand old age of 61 ! Our guides Dee & Rye where amazing so helpful and calmed my nerves!
I had a blast on this tour. Our group had about 20 people, but the crew moved through us quickly and we finished a little bit before the two hours were up. You do not need to do the rappel, but you do need to do the Tarzan swing, as it is the only way to get to the next course. Those who did the rappel said the drop was not bad at all; it was the rocking climbing up—the only way to get back up—that was tiring. The Tarzan swing lasts about 5 seconds, so it is not as bad as it sounds. I even got to go upside down on the last course. Be sure to take in the views as you go; they are stunning.
Our family went on this tour and we had a blast, it was the first time ziplining for a most of us and not only felt very safe but we also had a wonderful time. The staff took great care of us from the start, they allowed us to check out the start platform so that we would know what to expect before paying. We then got outfitted with the equipment and were given a 10 min talk about safety and what to expect on the course. After that, we were off to do the course. It took over one hour and we went above the canopy and thru a canyon with a river and a few waterfalls, what a beautiful scenery. This course has some unique experiences like the opportunity to rappel down to a platform 35 feet below and then back up on a rock climbing wall. It also offers a Tarzan like swing from size of the canyon to the other. We were very impressed with how meticulous the staff was at ensuring you were attached to the safety harness at every point, you can see they take safety very seriously. Highly recommend this activity. A plus if you are there is the lunch at the restaurant a la carte, we eat there before and had a great meal with lots of local options like "Casado".
Spent the afternoon zip lining in the most beautiful scenery. The guides were friendly, welcoming, and hilarious. We had a fantastic time.
What a great experience Musta do is come to Costa Rica I really enjoyed it very well organized as well
Our family of 5 (with a wide range of ages: 8,21,50) ALL absolutely loved our adventure! The staff was wonderful -- they were fun and most of all, top notch with safety -- plus they spoke English well. The tour starts out on a less scenic route and gets better & better! Near the end, there's an option to repel down to a rushing stream and rock climb up. I have never been able to rock climb but they helped the whole time (via pulleys) and it was super fun & empowering. There's no pressure but I would recommend doing it! Our 8 year old was too afraid to do the climb and continued ahead of us without any fear -- he was two landings ahead when we caught up -- we were that confident in the crew & their commitment to safety and fun! They took photos & videos of us for only $10 per person - SO reasonable and worth it. They really make everything easy & stress free. This is a GREAT adventure & company to work with!
Our hotel in Playa Hermosa recommended and booked this full-day adventure for us. We did 4 activities: horse back riding, water tubing, zip lining in the canopy and then finished up with a soak in the hot springs. All four activities are a solid 5 stars. **The horse ride could be a wee longer, but the horses were gentle and seemed to be well cared for. Great friendly guides. When I told them it was my birthday, they surprised me later in the day with a horse shoe as a gift. **I've tubed a few rivers in my life, but nothing like this tour! It was so much fun. There were hardly any dull, slow parts of the river. It seemed like one little rapid after another. The guides would spread out among our group and a few would even venture ahead to spot the more treacherous parts of the river. I always felt safe. Also, beautiful scenery along the float. **The ziplining was fantastic. There is one optional part of the course you rappel, tarzan swing and then rock climb. The rock climb was have been impossible for me (never rocked climb before in my life), but the guides use a z-line pulley to hoist you back up. :) There is a rock face that you have to maneuver followed by a tarzan swing that wasn't addressed until we were literally on top of it. This was a huge surprise to my friend who is scared of heights and was not expecting this. She almost didn't make this part of the course. **Lastly, the hot springs were so relaxing. You can sit in the 100+* springs for a few minutes, and then get in the much cooler water of the river. There is a small refreshment stand at the entrance for drinks and snacks. I don't think you can actually take food or drink to the springs though. We treated ourselves on our way out. BEST TIP, buy the images! The photographers followed us on the tubing and ziplining and do an incredible job at capturing your adventures!
Family with 5 years old twins. We were very lucky and were alone with the guides who where really friendly and helpful with the kids. The kids absolutely loved it and so did we. Prefect adventure activity with little kids! They also watched out our car at the reception with all the luggage inside :)
The experience was truly extraordinary and very fun. The Blanco River canyon is beautiful!!!! An incredible place!!! Our instructor was Oliver, who stood out at all times for his great professionalism, he gave us a lot of security and confidence and was tremendously kind. In addition to José and other colleagues who also contributed to making our activity incredibly satisfying. Costa Rica is a wonderful country and its people are welcoming and very kind. Pura Vida!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful country with us🙏🏿❤️🇨🇷
We fell in love with the experience we experienced this weekend with the canopy tour and also tubing. The service was excellent, too friendly all the guys, especially the tubing guys. We had an unforgettable family time.
Sehr viele Leute im Park und lange wartezeiten. Teilweise bis zu 20 Personen auf den Plattformen am warten. Preisleistungsverhältniss nicht gut.
The guide Jovy charged more than requested, misinformed us, we canceled on the spot and he charged us an extra taxi...for me it was a scam.
Excellent experience, with excellent professionals who helped me at all times, I felt very comfortable along the way, thank you Pura vida
Good ride. 1hr20min. It has Tarzan swing, rappelling, climbing, zip line. He's got everything. It's not very fast in itself. Good choice for children and family. It's not for wild adventure. It is nice and entertaining for family. Nice views. You go down to the canyon.
