Buena Vista del Rincón was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica vacation. It was a full day of adventure and everything was very well organized. The zip lining was a lot of fun, the jungle water slide was definitely one of the highlights, and finishing the day with the hot springs and volcanic mud bath was perfect. The scenery throughout the property is beautiful and really gives you the feeling of experiencing Costa Rica. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone in our family felt comfortable and safe throughout the activities. Lunch was also very good and a nice break during the day. If you’re staying in Guanacaste and want to experience adventure, nature, hot springs, and some of the Costa Rican countryside all in one day, I highly recommend Buena Vista del Rincón. We would definitely do it again.

Our guide and driver, Carlos, took care of us like family. The zip line was very cool. Horseback ride was pretty short, but that was ok with me. Slide is cool. Thermal springs/bath were great.
The Mega Combo Zip Line and Volcano Hot Spring tour was a blast! Our guide Fabian was very friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed at the Andaz and round trip transportation was covered and very comfortable. The excursions were all at one place which was very nice to not have to spend half the day traveling to other spots. The zip line had fantastic views. The horse back ride and slide were also a blast. Lunch was very good and filling, a buffet style so plenty of options. The sauna and hot spring were absolutely STUNNING. They were very hot and well maintained. We came across a snake, raccoon, and plenty of iguanas when driving to the hot spring. Lastly, my boyfriend and I were the only ones with Fabian so we got through everything at our pace and were able to make it to places before some of the other groups.
Fun day experiencing a variety of Costa Rican activities. Fabian was an excellent guide and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed zipping, and the thermal pools the best but the whole day was great.
What a day! So much fun with Steve and Stewart our bus driver and guide. Horseback riding was easy and the horses calm. The zipline experience was absolutely insane! So much fun! An absolute to-do. The guides on the zip line are amazing, funny and patient!
Santos was our private tour guide and he was AMAZINGGGGGG!!! I would give him 100 out of 100 stars if I could!!! He made our adventures SO fun and SO memorable. He pointed out wildlife we would have missed on our own and Despite there being big groups at this same site at the same time as us, Santos helped us avoid all the lines and pack all the fun adventures we wanted to do into our day. He was FANTASTIC and I HIGHLY reccomend his private tour of Buena Vista!!
I enjoyed a great tour with my daughter. We had a private shuttle driver, Fabian. We were picked up at the Dreams Resort. Our tour included zip lining, horseback riding, mud baths, and hot springs. Fabian was our tour guide through all experiences. I highly recommend this tour. He also took pictures for us. Great time!
I had the private transportation from the airport to the resort. We did the mega combo excursions which consist of Zipline, jungle waterslide, horseback riding, and the hot springs. It was a nice experience. Fabian our driver was great. He was very amicable and pleasant. Helpful throughout whole experience. We recommend.
We had a busy and fun day! The zip line was amazing! The hanging bridges get you right up in the trees and saw a variety of birds and many spider monkey in the canopy from them! We didn't realize that you can't get in the water at the waterfall area and it's a bit of a walk, so that cool water would have felt great. The hot springs were relaxing, and we spied some more monkeys while we enjoyed the warm water. The resort are was very clean and the employees were friendly. Our tour guide Aaron was kind and helpful.
What an awesome day. Jose picked us up and we drove 2 hours to Buena Vista el Rincon Adventure Park. Everyone there was so nice and friendly. The zip lines were awesome, water slide was so much fun and horseback riding was the perfect amount of time. Have to do the tsunami on the water slide! Lastly it was a perfect ending in the sauna, mud bath and hot springs. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere which was so relaxing. Jose was an awesome guide. He never rushed us and gave us the option to do whatever we wanted. On the way back to our hotel we stopped at a souvenir shop. It was a perfect day and a great family adventure.
My husband and I are in our honeymoon and decided to do this trip based off the reviews it got. It was AMAZING! They arrived on time picking us up at the Westin Hotel. The drive was longer than expected, around 2 1/2 hours but our guides were super nice, fun and helpful. We started with zip lining where we thought it was just one long zip line but we ended up doing 7 of them! At times my husband and I even went on together! After that was horseback riding which was about 30 minutes. This ended up being a great amount of time because it was pretty hot and humid when we went! After that we went on the water slide which was super fun! You can choose how fast you want to go and can always opt out of doing something if you or someone in your group doesn’t want to participate. After every activity you’re able to go back to the car to get water, re-apply sunscreen or grab your clothes/bathing suit to change into! After water slides, you keep your bathing suit on and eat a traditional Costa Rican buffet lunch! Afterwards, you take about a 20 minutes tractor ride to the hot springs/spa. This was our favorite part. You hop in a sauna then put a natural clay mud mask on your body, you once it’s dry you wash it off then enjoy the five different temperatures naturally hot springs. Afterwards you take the tractor back to the really nice Mercedes van and get dropped off at your hotel! We loved it!!!
We had such a great time! The zip lining was a blast and let you see the beautiful landscape. The slide was exhilarating and the lunch buffet was delicious. Our guide, Eric, took great care of us and made sure that we had everything we needed every step of the way! Definitely worth it.
Everyone NEEDS to do this tour. It was an 11 hour excursion with hiking, zip lining, giant water slide and the beautiful hot springs spa...not to mention the delicious lunch. Also a vigorous hike to an amazing waterfall. But the difficulty of the hike is medium but optional. Our guide Walter was fantastic! PURA VIDA!
We ran into friends of ours at the hotel and they told us about the Mega Combo Zip Line Tour. We were excited enough to book the tour. I texted the company and they booked us over WhatsApp. They even sent us a link to pay for the tour. Our driver, Jose' stayed with us for the entire tour and kept us moving along so we didn't get lost or left standing around. The Zip Line is the best part of the tour. I don't know why some people get scared. It's very safe. The water slide is nice but it might need a cushion to sit on while sliding down the chute. Girls have a God-given advantage. The horse back riding is also fun but not very long.
Wow! What a great tour! Santos was the best tour guide we’ve ever had. Lots of fun and laughs. And that was just the tour guide. The tour itself was an incredible experience as well. Everyone was so polite, and the facilities were clean. Great family outing. Would highly recommend this tour! You won’t be disappointed!!
Our tour guide Aaron was wonderful. He provided just enough information and not too much to be overwhelmed. The zip lining was exhilarating for my husband, and terrifying for me as I was not aware of how high up I would be but I survived, and it was great. Hanging bridges was a cool experience we got to see some monkeys, but regrettably no toucans. Following the bridges, we took a small horseback ride, which was lovely instructors were very helpful and friendly. After that we went on a waterslide which was fast and fun. I think goodness for the leather bottoms they had for women to wear as the bottom of the slide is not very smooth. Do you need a good body and not control not very suitable for young kids. After the slide we had a wonderful Buffay lunch was so delicious. Then we finished off in the Hot Springs and all I can say is WOW!!! It was spectacular!
I believe it is the first tourist expedition that we didn’t feel ripped off. From start to finish it was excellent. Jose our driver made us feel incredibly comfortable. The staff at the attraction were very professional. The zip line was much longer than we anticipated and very mechanically secure. The horses were in excellent shape and then the water slide … wow! Lunch was very tasty and then off to the baths we went. Sauna, mud and then pools to relax completely. Best experience ever. Kathy Eddy
Great overall experience- all day event 7-4 basically but you get in everything CR has. Different parks basically offer same thing just a little different. This park has everything you need to explore here. Wouldn’t change it for anything. We only had 3 days here and got everything I wanted to see and do except the volcano and sloths exhibit
It was a full day trip. 730-4 exactly or a little over. We hit up everything on the list and more. Our tour guide Eriik was awesome. Did everything we asked and went above and beyond for us. We had enough time for everything I wanted to do , it was a great experience/ adventure! I highly recommend doing this if you have only a few days in Costa Rica and want to get all the activities out of the way and done.
Unreal! The entire experience exceeded our expectations. Our guide Jose Fernandez picked us up at the hotel right on time. We stopped along the way for souveniers, coffee and food before making the rest of the journey to the adventure park. Jose never rushed us, everything was on our time schedule. He was fun and knowledgable as he led us to each of our activities. The zip lining through the jungle was one of top experiences of my life. Although it wasn't raining you could feel the mist flying high over the trees. Unbelievable. The horse back riding through the jungle, mud baths, mineral pools, the hanging bridges - it was all magical. Jose's timing was perfect. Since it was just my husband and I we had a private tour, and we would arrive at the hot springs, zip lines, etc all before the big groups. I'm definitely coming back with the whole family and booking through Guanacsate Viajes and Tours again.
Edgar and Jose were amazing guides. The experience was exceptional amd as advertised. The zip line amd water slide were really fun.
By far the best price for this tour. The zip-lining wasn’t really thrilling but the scenery was beautiful. The rappelling isn’t true rappelling, More so just a straight drop and not very far down. The guides will help pull you up so no worries about climbing back up the rock wall. Horseback riding was Ok. The hot springs were nice. The best part was definitely the tubing. Our driver, Jose, was amazing. Very knowledgeable, patient and flexible. I would definitely recommend this company and the tour. Keep in mind, if you’ve done other zip-lining, this part may be under whelming.
This excursion was a great experience. Aaron was our tour guide and was kind enough to take us to see a waterfall on the premise, which wasn’t part of the original description. The views while ziplining are breathtaking. The lunch was a nice touch. It was great to taste a traditional meal. And we truly appreciate that the transportation was included with the price of the activity. We stayed at Dreams Las Mareas, for reference. Highly recommend!
We definitely saved the best for last! We had a wonderful time. On Friday, Jose picked us up from our hotel and drove us an hour or so to Borinquen. He showed us notable landmarks, businesses, and schools along the route and did an excellent job navigating up the mountain. The views were beautiful. When we arrived, he led us around to the different activities. We did the zipline first. It was a bit scary but the guides made us feel safe and helped us along each step in the process. Next were the horses, which was probably my favorite part because I could really take in the scenery and we even heard a toocan. When we arrived back, Jose led us to a pavilion to learn about sugar cane and coffee. On the way, we saw a family of coatis crossing the trail. Next we did the waterslide - the medium was pretty fast but the slide was fun and didn't bruise me up like I had expected. Finally, we took a dip in the hot springs. I could have stayed in the hot springs all day. This place really has something for everyone and I can't recommend it enough. Also--lunch was great. That day was perfect and I'm so glad Jose was our guide! Thanks Jose!
The mega combo zip line tour was one of the highlights of our trip in Costa Rica! Fabian was our tour guide and he was AMAZING! He stayed with us every step of the way and was extremely attentive. We were a family of 4. Two adults and two children, ages 9 and 12. My children had never zip lined and lived it! We loved the short horseback ride as well, you don’t need to know how to ride, the horse knows the trail, it’s super easy. The lunch was also delicious. We also did the slide which was SUPER fast but fun and the hot springs. Everything about this tour was great! If you only do one tour in Costa Rica, this is the tour to do! Thank you Fabian for a wonderful time!
First of all our guide Arron was excellent! I faced my fears with the zip lining and horseback riding. Then we got to cool off with the river powered water slide. Lunch was delicioso. The volcanic mud bath and hot springs was an excellent end to our adventurous day! Ask for Arron, you will not be disappointed.
What was our favorite part? That's a tough question! From the on-time pick up, Jose's graciousness as a guide, the beauty of the location, and the fun of the activities...it is easy to say we really loved it all!
We had the best time on this trip. Steven was the best! We learned so much about Costa Rica. En route to the adventure park, he was able to spot troops of monkeys and even toucans, we would have never spotted them. He gave us information about the various species of animals and flora and that was just on the way there. Steven set up the order of activities so we never had to deal with crowds or lines. The zip lining was great, (I am afraid of heights but did it for my daughter). The views make you forget you are that high. The horse back riding a lot of fun, we rode to the top of a hill to some pretty awesome views. The water slide was a lot of fun. FYI it is either fast or tsunami- there is no slow speed and the water is cold. We had a Costa Rican lunch then did the mud bath (hot) and relaxed in the hot springs. We booked a group tour (there was 4 of us) and we ended up with a private tour.
Manuel our tour guide was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable about Costa Rica. I felt very welcomed the entire time. Thank you for a great experience!
My husband I took a private tour and it was worth every penny. Our tour guide Aaron was great and very friendly, he also was very knowledgeable about the Costa Rican environment and climate. The zip lines are so much fun and the views are even more amazing. The water slide was definitely an adrenaline rush. The people of Buena Vista are very kind and accommodating. And last but definitely not least, the food!!!! The food was to die for, a definite taste of Costa Rican cuisine. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Costa Rican adventure.
Carlos was an awesome guide. Zipline was great. Hot Springs were the best part of the combo. The lunch was THE BEST! Food was great and delicious. We did not do the horseback riding. Waterslide was fun too. Be sure to map the location from your hotel. Transfer was about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
This is a great private day tour. Steven was wonderful and full of interesting knowledge about the country, the wildlife, and the eco-park. The 7:30a pickup from Papagayo is perfect to arrive before the crowds. Make sure you are prepared to walk uphill. It's not difficult, but it is a workout. Ziplining is fun (7 lines total, varying height and length), horseback is short but enjoyable nonetheless. Lunch was a delicious buffet of traditional foods - killer rice and beans! The waterside is fun, if you don't like going fast and getting sloshed around (which I loved) ask for medium or slow speed; and listen to Steven when he tells you how to hold the tube. Lastly, the hot springs were a delightful way to end the day, you can also order drinks (must pay cash). We didn't do the mud bath, but I heard other people enjoyed it. Definitely worth the price for a private tour with this number of activities
I did the excursion solo. I felt safe and I enjoyed every moment. The tour included everything mentioned. I did pass on the water slide and walked to the waterfall and omg was it worth it. The walk was 8-10 mins from the waterfall sign. It did rain, but it felt great. I would recommend a waterproof jacket or umbrella just in case. I wore a stretchy athletic outfit and it was perfect for zip lining and horseback , with my swimsuit underneath. Wear tennis shoes, but bring slides and towel for sauna and hot springs pools.
Steven was our tour guide and he was AMAZING! He made the experience so much better. He took pictures for us during each activity, answered all of our questions, and told us about the history of costa rica. Definitely a must experience.
Santos was our guide and he did a fantastic job! We were not rushed at all, but he kept everything moving and ensure we were first to each experience. This allowed maximum time to enjoy every aspect of this trip, and provided a smaller/private setting. I would suggest this excursion (and Santos) 10 times out of 10!
Awesome excursion! From our amazing driver, Santos, who stayed with us the whole day to the zip lining (7 lines), water slide, horseback riding, and th mud bath/hot springs. Zero complaints. We'll worth the price tag.
Steven was our guide and he was really great. I would definitely do the tour again. We all really enjoyed the place and highly recommend this tour.
Steven, our guide, was a great choice for an ambassador for Costa Rica. He was informative, congenial and was very attentive to our needs on the day’s events. There were 4 of us, two in our 70’s, and he took the time to slow it down or speed things along. He stopped to show the wildlife as we spent the day in this beautiful area. The staff at the site was so kind to us. The entire experience so worth it!
We had a blast. Thrill seeking as we were so far up in the trees we were unable to see the ground at all. Memories forever
We had a great experience on the Borinquen Combo Tour with Santos. Santos arrived at our hotel on time, and we arrived at the eco-lodge in roughly 2 hours. We had an amazing day zip lining, horseback riding and enjoying the hot springs in a beautiful setting. It was also a private tour, which was unique and relaxing! We also have to give a shout-out to Santos - he was the best guide we've ever had! Throughout our drive to and from the lodge, Santos gave us tons of information about where we were driving, what we were looking at, and stopped to point out animals we would have missed. He even acted as our paparazzi when we were ziplining and horseback riding - we didn't even ask - and now we have awesome photos from our day! Seriously, Santos even stopped and used my boyfriend's phone with his personal binoculars to get photos of the animals at the lodge. He was unreal!
Amazing excursion with this great tour company. I spent most of my tours with Santos but all 3 drivers that I had were great. Lots of laughs and great times had with them. When I come back to Costa Rica I am definitely using this service again.
Our guide Santos arrived at out hotel on time. It was a 2 hr ride to the resort where our day would be filled with fun and excitement. Santos talked to us about Costa Rica it’s people, culture and patiently answered our endless questions. When we arrived at the resort we received instructions on what our day included. We then received our helmets and got on our horses. The horses were very docile and knew where to go. Our horseback riding guide talked to us about the flora and fauna along the way to the base of the volcano. We stopped along the way to take pics of the volcano and landscape. The weather cooperated for beautiful pics. At the top we met our guides for zip lining. They were great and took care of 2 very scared ladies. This was so exciting and zip lining over the gorge was breathtaking. When we reached the bottom we ate a normal Costarican lunch. This was just ok. We then went to the hot springs for a sauna, mud bath and a soak in the hot tubs. Things to know: need insect spray- the mosquitoes were abundant, take tip money for tips for the resort staff, we didn’t know this was needed, you don’t need to bring water, Santos brought a cooler of water bottles, We were the only 2 people on this tour and it was not cancelled. We appreciated this since our other tours we had scheduled with a different tour company were cancelled at the last moment because of low numbers. Santos was a great guide and he stayed with us the whole day taking care of us.
Overall experience with Guanacaste Viajes was a pleasure. We booked a private roundtrip airport transfer and the private Borinquen Combo Canopy Tour for (2) people. The prices for both reservations were very reasonable. The trip to and from the airport with Fabian and Carlos were smooth sailing. No complaints with the transfers. They were punctual to pick up at the airport (Liberia Airport) and at resort (Dreams Las Mareas). Only complaint is that our excursion reservation was made for the 7:30AM, we weren’t picked up until 9AM by Santos. I had to call Manuel Duarte (company owner) for confirmation that the excursion was still happening. He apologized for the mix up, but now I’m not sure how much that international call will cost me. Anyway, Santos was EXCELLENT. He spoke English very well. He was very equipped to answer any questions regarding the tour, Costa Rica, or general questions. I appreciate that he was eager to point out and make stops so we could photograph some of the wildlife (toucans, parrots, lizards etc). With that said, we REALLY appreciate that he also served as our photographer. He took excellent pictures with our personal phones and our professional camera. When heading back to the resort, Santos was able to make a quick call to advise Tico Souvenir shop that we were on our way. Since they were closing right when we were wrapping up with the excursion. I believe there would have been ample time to shop if the tour started promptly at 7:30AM. The complete experience with Guanacaste Viajes was great and we would 100% recommend them for any one travelling solo or in a group to Costa Rica.
Our group had a fun trip doing the Vandara tour during our stay in Costa Rica. Our guide, Juan Carlos, and driver, Jose, were wonderful! Juan Carlos welcomed us warmly and pointed out places of interest along our drive from Papagayo. He was happy to answer any questions we had. Unfortunately, it was very windy that day and we didn't get to do the full zip lining course, but the parts we did were a lot of fun. The farm demonstrations was super interesting and the hot springs were relaxing. Highly recommend the Vandara tour during your trip to Costa Rica!
This service was excellent, timely and professional. Our guide Juan Carlos was informative, friendly and incredibly kind. He exemplified the Costa Rican philosophy of Pura Vida. He gave us a nice tour of the city on our way to Vandara Hot Springs and even took excellent photos of my sister and I. I highly recommend using this service and especially Juan Carlos.
Had a great time from the moment Santos picked us up and dropped us off. The Borinquen area was breathtaking. The horse ride had amazing views and the wind and rain didn’t even dampen our spirits. The zip line was a blast, especially the scenic waterfall line—wow! It is not for the height sensitive though. One in our group couldn’t finish (because of the height) after the two short practice runs and they were understanding and kind and took her back to the resort area to wait. The lunch was delicious and the mud pots were an experience. What made the day was Santos, our guide, who was a wealth of local flora, fauna and culture.
We knew it would be fantastic as soon as we met our driver and guide for the day, Juan Carlos. He is a native of Cocoa Beach and was a wealth of information. After our tour he took us to a coffee tour and gift shop that was fantastic and not included in the tour. We started with refreshments at the Borinquen resort then headed to the stables. Our horses were very calm and knew exactly where to go and our guides were excellent. If you are a novice or newbie, the horses are perfect for you. After the ride to the top, we met our zipline guides. They explained everything to us and were a lot of fun to be with. The views are absolutely amazing! After the zip lining, we were treated to a delicious lunch and a concert by the local howler monkeys. Just seeing and hearing them was worth the entire trip. Then steam bath, mud slinging and hot springs finished out the day. I highly recommend this trip and if you can request Juan Carlos as your guide, your day will be complete.

Great tour guide. Easy transitions and very little waiting time at the zip lines. A great way to cover a lot of ground in one day.

My wife and I had an amazing day..... The people were outstanding. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable, patient and really enhanced our outing. The Cowboys and the Zip Line guides at Borinquen were also fun and friendly and accommodating... the Zip lines were so fun and the scenery was beautiful.... Most surprising was also how much we enjoyed the Hot springs, mud bath, and hot tubs after. We can't recommend this trip any higher... great day.

A great choice if you want to see some great landscape and sometimes some really cool animals if you're lucky! Great guides and activities.
