Reviews
Staff were extremely friendly and very punctual. We got to stop at 3 different beaches and swim while riding in a UTV in between spots
Great fun for the whole family. The beaches were beautiful. We were not experienced with ATVs so the guide was patient with our group. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer at the beaches.
The absolute best thing we did in Tamarindo. The guide was excellent and the tour was so fun. At Playa Viejo, we saw the howler monkeys. We brought along 2 kids (14, 18) and everyone had an absolute blast. 10/10 recommend. Would absolutely do again.
I booked this tour for my family for our trip to Costa Rica. I was asked by the guide if I wanted to make the trip private so we could take our time and they would even provide snorkel gear. He told me how much more it would be and a day later I said ok. After I said “ok”, he told me the price he gave me was wrong and then almost doubled it. I should have tried to cancel the tour right then and there, but we were eager to go. When I finally worked it out with them (still more than they originally said), and paid the extra for the private session, he told us to arrive at 8:45 am when on Viator the arrival time said 8:30 am for a 3 hour tour. When we got to the place, our guide was nothing special - no personality very little english and no conversation on the ride. Each time we stopped he seemed bored and anxious to leave. Additionally, there was no snorkel gear as previously promised. Overall, we felt rushed at the stops and that the guide really didn’t have much interest in anything other than getting back. On the way home we drove so fast that It was obvious he had other people after us. We arrived back at 11:20 am instead of 11:30. I know the amount of time may seem minimal, but for already arriving late and paying just under $1,000 for this excursion made me really annoyed that I wasn’t getting what I paid for. Overall, the idea of this tour is great and the beaches were nice if we had a little more time to enjoy them. This tour company was nothing special and honestly, I feel like I was taken advantage of. I am sure there are other tour companies in the area that would do a better job than this one.
What made this a 4 instead of lower is the company, a mother-daughter duo, who were also on the tour with us. First, the equipment was in great condition. Pick-up and drop off at our hotel was seamless. Since the confirmation indicated bandanas would be available for purchase, I was looking forward to that, especially since the weather had been very dry. We've done tours throughout the Caribbean and the operators ALWAYS provide eye and face protection, so this was a disappointment. I communicated this to the guide and he didn't seem to care at all. I understand everyone has to make a living and that is the only reason this review is still a 4.
I paid $100 for a 2 hour ATV and we only short distant and it was not a 2 hour tour, you need to stop lying to people and stop giving them what they paid for will never come back and will tell people how bad this company is,just here to rope people off
I liked the different beaches. The bikes were well maintained. Got time to spend at the different t locations as well. Super nice guide as well and nice refreshments at the end.
The atv tour on quads was alot of fun. It should be longer to spend some more time on the beaches. The tour guide was friendly and easy to get along with. Do not get a smoothie at the little beach bar at the end of play conchol unless you want food poisoning. I suffered for 2.5 days by making that mistake. Bad mangoes, poor food safety or a combination of both. Stick to a bottle of water or coke.
We are a family of 5 and this was our first time in Costa Rica and on ATVs. This was a fun experience and a great way to see remote beautiful beaches. We were there on March 25, 2026. This is the dry season so the ride was very dusty and you get really dirty. The dust is my only complaint. Next time I would take a face covering. The ride to and from the beaches took about 20 minutes on the ATVs going through a town, past schools, and where locals live all dirt roads which was not our favorite but the beaches were beautiful and all very different. You will get a chance to swim at each stop. The guides were very nice and made us all feel very comfortable and safe. Water and pineapple is offered after the tour so take a water with you.
We went to three different beautiful beaches north from tamarindo, each one so unique. The second one we stopped a bar/restaurant that was so peaceful, picture perfect. The third beach had beautiful white sand with an incredible view. The dirt roads cause a lot of dust to fly up, so make sure to cover your mouth and your eyes well! Only thing that would have made it five stars for me personally, was since there was only 2 of us, going faster would have made it a lot more fun.
We had a great time. Our tour guide ED took us through the back road to visit three beaches. We had a lot of fun. Thank you again.
Great guides! three beach locations very nice! easy to learn and very fun! this was our second trip and will do it again! staff was great!
Guides made us feel comfortable on the ATVs even though some of us had no experience. The beaches were beautiful and we got to see and hear some howler monkeys! Enjoyed a delicious smoothie and the guide took many photos and videos of us!
Such a great trip. So many beautiful beaches and great ATVs. Great guide as well. Would recommend to everyone.
We had a great time exploring the area. We loved going to the beaches and in the ocean too. Great family owned business that we’re happy to support.
We had a good time and the ATVs were basically new and very nice. However, although we paid for a 3 hour tour we were only gone 2 hours. We had stopped at two beaches for 20 min each and at the last beach I asked if we got to stay there and swim since it was so beautiful ( near Conchal) and finally a swimmable beach since the others had huge waves and he didn’t say yes, he responded with saying we would go somewhere else and asked if we wanted to stop and get a drink. We said that we don’t want to stop to get a drink so we started driving again only to return back to the office. I asked why we were only gone 2 hours and he said that usually we get 20 min at the last beach and then 20 min to stop for a drink. If I had known that when I asked if we could swim at the last beach, we could have stayed there for 40 min! I feel like he purposefully didn’t tell me how much time we could spend there and feel scammed. I suppose it could have been a miscommunication but I have a feeling he knew what he was doing. Just pay attention to the timing and specifically ask how much time you have in each location.
We booked kayak and quad the next day. Both experiences were very good. We could discover the hidden gems of Tamarindo, swim in the wild beaches, discover beautiful animals in the middle of the jungle. Each time, guides were very good and talkative. The booking process was swift and flawless with precision and reminders via emails and text
Traverse through the trail to the coast on an easy to operate ATV. It get a bit dusty so a bandana/face mask is recommended. The ATV is easy to operate. The guide will take you 3 difference beaches where you get to spend a little bit of time at each location. It's a fun experience for everyone.
Good rainforest/ beach riding- through 2 rivers, top of a mountain, and onto 3 beaches- one we swam at for a few minutes. Prepare to get dirty…fun time even so! My only issue is that we paid for a 3 hour adventure but it was cut short by 40 minutes- we had done another ATV adventure a few days before for $70 a person for 2 hours and it lasted exactly 2 hours- and included everything we did on this one. Paying $125 per person for this tour- 3 hours- wasn’t what we expected because of the time that we booked for the price we paid versus what we actually got. Our guide wasn’t interactive and seemed impatient. He did take a few pictures for us though and shared…the pineapple and water at the end were a good refresher too!
Gilbert was amazing!!! He was full of energy and also patient with the tour. The tour took the entire ace we saw so much of the countryside and the beaches.
We had the best time on this tour. It was even more fun than we expected. The ATV's were really nice, our guide was fantastic, and the beaches were absolutely incredible. Pickup from our hotel in Tamarindo worked out perfectly with easy communication from the company. I'm so glad we took the time to do this one and highly recommend it!
A great ATV trip that takes you to beautiful secluded beaches. The staff is so much fun (Jason, Lorenzo & Gilbert)! We loved the calm beautiful scenery at the beaches we visited and would never have been able to find without this great team.
Been crazy since being back from vacation so my review is a little late and don’t remember names but… We had a great experience. They picked us up from hacienda pinilla- totally worth the small fee for us We had private tour- guide, me, my husband and son. We each had our own atv. I was the least experienced rider but it was easy enough and super fun. We visited I believe 3 beaches- all beautiful and seemed private cause there were very little people. One beach we parked our Atvs and walked a small trail to get to the beach- I felt like I was in a movie. The area was gorgeous , our tour told us so much about the area. You can see sea urchin in the rocks and we even saw a little octopus underneath that was eating a crab. He was pretty much on our time frame - and we were not rushed at all. At the end we greeted with fresh pineapple and water . And they had sinks to wash your face from all the dust. Would do again!
We had a very fun ride with stops at some great overlooks! Loved riding on the beach. My family said this was a highlight of our trip!
Awesome experience, great service and beautiful views! My four wheeler found a deep spot in one river crossing and flooded. They had a replacement there ASAP!
Hands down, this was the best ATV tour ever! Well worth the $$$. We drove super fast through mud puddles and stopped off at 3 beautiful beaches. My kids loved this! We did an ATV tour last week in LaFortuna w a different company-twice the price, half the time and not even fast. Totally recommend this tour!
Gustavo was the best guide I recommend requesting him. He made sure my friend and I learned about the sights during the tour and always ensured we were safe during the excursions.
Probably the most fun we had on our trip. Prepare to drive through some water and mud if you are there in the rainy season. This was part of the fun. We visited 3 beaches where we could explore, take pictures, and get in the water. They are mostly visited by locals instead of tourists. We saw howler monkeys and stopped for photos. The tour was just the 3 of us. We were on single driver ATVs. The ATVs were in very good working order and easy to drive. The shorter 2 hour tours seem to be more popular. I am an experienced driver however my family is not. Most of the tour was limited in speed but I managed to get above 40 kph in a couple of spots on straightaways. We stayed on dirt roads more than 90% of the time but there are other cars occasionally as locals will use them. Some of the roads are residential. I would have loved to go for even longer than the 3 hour tour.
Beautiful scenery as we drove through the forest and the farmland. Three beautiful beaches to stop at. A great guide! We all loved our ATV tour!!
We had a blast on this adventure. We saw howler monkeys, 3 secluded beaches—which were all incredible—and got to get dirty on our ATVs. You can stay as clean as you want, but I chose to power through the mud and puddles to get as filthy as I could get. All skill levels can enjoy this trip.
Our guide picked us up then took us to get the ATVs and ride through the province on dirt roads to 3 different beaches and through the forest and some local residential areas. It was a great experience overall. We had fun on the ATVs and seeing the different beaches was so beautiful. We can’t wait to go back!
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and let us take our time to explore and enjoy the water at the beaches we stopped at. We got Casco and Javier as our tour guides and we couldn’t be happier! They spotted out various animals and identified them to us. Made sure we were having a great time and were safe. Worth every penny!
Boolked this for a Sunday, and for some reason I was the only one on the tour. Which was good for me! Roberto was the guide and he was excellent. I had fun "bull riding"on the bumpy roads. The advertising photo is misleading, however, because it shows ATVs on a beach. You cannot ride them on beaches in Costa Rica, because turtles rule! The directions to get to the meeting point were unclear and linkup didn't go as smoothly as it should have. Plus, tour was supposed to include pickup at hotel, but I stayed at JW Marriott and it is isolated from Tamarindo..
This was the best experience we had in Costa Rica. Our guide was super professional and friendly. I highly recommend this tour.
Nice shuttle driver picked us up in time and we laughed the whole drive. Easy checkin and nice ride. It is dusty, but they give you goggles. We only went to two beaches because the sun was setting and we liked the second stop at pirates beach.
Very fun time! So glad we got to see those amazing beaches! Our guide Jason was great and very attentive.
We had a great afternoon on our ATV tour - memorable, adventurous and fun! The route was a perfect way to see the mountains, small towns, remote beaches and countryside. It's the best way to get on the backroads of Costa Rica. Be prepared to get really dusty - I would recommend bringing a bandana. The guides did an excellent job keeping out group safe and together but they seemed a bit overwhelmed as our group had 25 people in it of varying driving abilities. When I booked the tour they promised me there would be a maximum of 15 people so we were a little disappointed. It would have been better for them to break the group into two smaller groups. Our family recommends this adventure for sure!
This trip was not as advertised. We never left the dusty back roads on the ATV. The beaches while secluded, were full of people and there was no way to ride the ATV on the beach. On the Native Way website this tour is advertised as "3 Hour ATV Secluded Beach & Snorkel Tour". There was no snorkeling offered, and cold water was the only beverage. To top it all off we waited about 45 min for the equipment to come back from a morning excursion in order to complete the equipment needs of our group. All and all we would not recommend this trip.
NOTICE: The picture on the website and the description are misleading. You are not going to ATV on a beach. You are going to take a dusty road to three beaches that you can drive to in your car. You are going to be hit up to buy drinks and food at the first two stops. On the positive side, the staff were very nice and the ATVs are new and well maintained.
We had a great time with Roberto as our guide. The beaches were gorgeous and there was a lot of variation between each one. We saw a snake and trees full of Howler Monkeys along the way. I highly recommend this tour!
We had a great experience with Jason, our guide, visiting three beaches on the ATVs. We brought along our 11 YO and 9 YO boys to ride with myself and husband. They loved riding the ATVs and then playing in the water at each beach.
Really enjoyed visiting the beaches, particularly the smaller, lesser known ones. Also enjoyed traveling between the beaches and the local neighborhoods.
Our group of 8, all had a great time riding through rainforest and stopping at the beautiful beaches! We went swimming in the warm water and it was amazing. The BBQ chicken kabob was so delicious at the local beach stand on one of the stops. Jason, our tour leader was so nice and professional!
Great tour to off the beaten path beaches we would have never experienced otherwise! They were beautiful spots! The ATVs were very easy to use, first timers do not be intimidated! Our guide was very cool, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend this tour
We had the most wonderful time - thank you, Kenneth! This was a wonderful way to see a wide variety of coastal Costa Rica. From roadside communities to offroading in mud in puddles to margaritas on the beach, our tour had it all. Our tour guide (Kenneth) took us to four of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen, took our pictures at prime lookout spots, and let us jump in the water at every stop. Lots of wildlife as well! Iguanas in the trees, horses and Costa Rican cows around every corner, a friendly pot-bellied pig, and ocean-swimming dogs. 10/10.
Unfortunately this tour was not as advertised. The “chance” to see wildlife were only a couple of dogs along the side of the roads that the trip was really on. It’s not off road at all apart from crossing a couple of puddles and there was no commentary at all. It was basically a procession from one beach to another. The ATV equipment itself was 1st class and the guides were friendly but overall it was fairly boring and no wildlife was seen at all.
Such a fun day and took us to some beautiful beaches. We booked through natives way but 506 transfers is who did the actual atv tour.
The trip to the beaches was fun. We drove our ATVs through small side-streets and neighborhoods to get to the beaches! There were beautiful beaches and lovely water but there was a LOT of dusty travel to get there!
The tour was so fun!! We got to drive around town seeing the culture and got to see and hang out at beautiful beaches that were hidden away. Our tour guide was awesome and even stopped to show us monkeys and different sights on the way! Richardo is the best!! Also our driver was super nice and picked us up from where we were staying and dropped us off!
