Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River

Absolutely perfect stay for our honeymoon. Every employee was incredibly gracious and the property was stunning. A perfect balance of luxury and adventure. The canyon adventure course had incredible views, and the staff made us feel so so safe the entire time. The professional photographer took so many unbelievable photos too. The food was amazing, the mix it up with guaro class was incredible fun and included a ton of fun drinks. The tubing was cancelled for high water safety reasons, but that’s okay because it made us feel even safer. We saw monkeys at the pool, armadillos, an agouti, and many birds and geckos. As a Diamond member I was even treated to a complimentary upgrade which was so appreciated. We had the perfect honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for better hospitality!

We absolutely loved our stay at Rio Perdido! The location is beautiful, and the property is huge, with so many trails and areas to hike and explore. It's the kind of place where you could spend days just enjoying the surroundings. The thermal springs are amazing, and relaxing in the warm river surrounded by nature was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We also did the canyon adventure, which was a ton of fun. Byron was our guide for both the canyon tour and some of the hiking trails, and he was fantastic. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and really made the experiences that much better. Another highlight was the cocktail mixology class with Cesar. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but it ended up being surprisingly fun and really informative. Cesar was great and made the whole experience enjoyable. Definitely recommend giving it a try! The food was also excellent. We had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed everything. Overall, Rio Perdido is such a unique place. Between the beautiful setting, all the outdoor activities, the thermal springs, great food, and wonderful staff, there's so much to love. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back!

Rio Perdido was absolutely incredible and one of our favorite parts of Costa Rica. From the moment we arrived, the service felt so personal. A golf cart picks you up, your bags are taken straight to your room, and everyone is so kind and welcoming that the property quickly feels like its own little world. We stayed in a Center Bungalow and loved the outdoor shower, the beautiful jungle views, and all the little details in the room. Even the shampoos and hand washes smelled amazing — definitely use everything they provide! The property is gorgeous, with hanging bridges, walking trails, hot and cold pools, a thermal river, spa, yoga, and so much wildlife. We saw monkeys and armadillos right on the property, and the thermal river was one of the most peaceful and beautiful experiences of our trip. The food and drinks were excellent, and the staff truly made the stay unforgettable. Special thanks to Joiner and César at the pool bar, Wilfredo with the golf carts, Eddie, Enjeel, and Maikol at the restaurant, and Camila and Angel at reception/concierge. Angel in the reception made us feel so welcomed and taken care of from the beginning. We were genuinely sad to leave. Rio Perdido is peaceful, beautiful, unique, and incredibly well run. We would absolutely come back!!!

We absolutely loved everything about our stay at Rio Perdido! Tucked away in the heart of Guanacaste, it feels like a private forest sanctuary where you can truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. From open-air dining surrounded by breezy greenery and purple sunset skies to bridges filled with playful capuchin monkeys, every part of the property felt magical. We loved the spa-like pools, the healing waters of the Lost River and its natural hot springs, and our incredibly relaxing sound bath experience. The service was wonderful, from our concierge, Francisco, to the fabulous bartending team. Our accommodations were peaceful and relaxing, with the sounds of local howler monkeys lulling us to sleep and greeting us each morning. Rio Perdido is an absolute dream—we cannot recommend it enough!
