Hideaway was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. We traveled as a large group and stayed across multiple rooms, and from beginning to end, the experience was exceptional. The hotel is tucked away in a beautiful, secluded location that feels peaceful, intimate, and genuinely special. The service was outstanding. Everyone made us feel incredibly well taken care of, and the level of hospitality stood out even among the many great places we visited in Costa Rica. And the food — truly amazing. Every meal was excellent and far exceeded what we expected from a hotel restaurant. The pool and jacuzzis are incredible as well. The kids had an absolute blast, and so did we. It was a perfect place for everyone in our group to relax, have fun, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The spa was equally impressive; we had some of the best massages of our life. Of all the hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica, Hideaway was our favorite overall when you combine the experience, service, food, setting, amenities, and value for money. It’s rare to find a place that gets so many things right. We absolutely loved our stay and will 100% be back. Highly, highly recommended.

We absolutely loved it! The rooms were awesome (in spite of creaky beds), the outdoor shower was loved by my teen boys!, the pool was clean and not crowded. The property is beautiful and well kept! We hiked to the river several times unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there but we did get to dip in the river just before leaving because it was blue! The spa is beautiful and our messages were amazing! The staff are very nice and accommodating and went above and beyond to make me feel special celebrating my birthday there! We loved Paolo and wish him the very best!
WOW! My family and I were blown away by this resort and the service that we received during our stay. I read another review that convinced me to book here and it said "stop thinking about it and just book this resort" and they were correct! We only had the opportunity in our schedule to stay here for 2 nights but wish we had stayed longer. We just came from Tabacon Hot Springs and the service that you receive at the Hideaway is well above what we received from a well known resort that is supposed to have great service. Everybody that you run into at the resort is friendly and takes a moment to say hi or get to know you and your family. They go above and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied and enjoying your stay. We did the night tour which was a lot of fun and had an opportunity to see a lot of animals on the property. My husband and I also did a massage at their spa that just opened in December and that was a real treat. That is such a beautiful facility and I would recommend that you give it a try. The food at each of the restaurants is really top notch and some of the best food that we had in Costa Rica. The rooms are very large and the restrooms are the largest that I have seen! It was also really great to be able to have a large oversized porch with chairs to go out and sit in the mornings and listen to the animals around you. They also went above and beyond for my husband's birthday with a decorated room and sweet treats! Again if you are considering if you should spend some time here stop considering and just book this resort!
After staying at many hotels throughout Costa Rica, Hideaway Río Celeste became one of my favorite stays in the country. The property feels like it is truly immersed in the rainforest. The casitas are spacious, private, and surrounded by nature, making it easy to spot wildlife right from your balcony. During my stay, I saw birds, sloths, frogs, and many other animals throughout the grounds. The highlight for me was the spa. I booked a massage in the signature treatment room, which features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the rainforest. Finishing the experience with a shower in the same room while surrounded by nature was unforgettable. The food exceeded my expectations. Every meal was excellent, and I especially enjoyed the grilled lunch by the pool. The property also offers a great breakfast with both buffet and à la carte options. One of the unique features of the hotel is its private access to Río Celeste, which can be reached via a scenic 10–15 minute hike from the property. The location is also ideal for exploring Tenorio Volcano National Park, waterfalls, hanging bridges, and adventure activities. During my stay, I went bird and sloth watching, joined a tapir night safari, explored waterfalls, walked hanging bridges, went tubing, and participated in a night tour to see frogs and snakes. The bathrooms are enormous and feature both indoor and outdoor showers, adding to the feeling of being connected to nature. The room décor feels slightly dated, although I understand renovations are planned. Overall, the experience, setting, service, food, and connection to nature made this one of the most memorable hotels I visited in Costa Rica.
Beautiful resort nestled in a quiet area near the gorgeous Rio Celeste River! The service here is top notch, the staff goes above and beyond to make you comfortable and happy. We were celebrating 3 birthdays and it was some of the best customer service and hospitality I have ever come across. The rooms are amazing and the amenities outstanding. Our family of 4 took the nature night walk after we arrived, and at dinner all the food and desserts were amazing. In the morning we did a yoga class and then hiked on their private property to the river- it’s breathtaking and so peaceful! This is a great place to stop halfway if you’re driving between La Fortuna and Guanacaste! We wish we had stayed here longer, highly recommended!
