My boyfriend and I spent a week at Jardín del Edén to relax and celebrate my 40th birthday. I found this hotel on a whim and so glad that I did. The hotel is in downtown Tamarindo and near all the shops, stores and restaurants. It is about an hour and a half from the Liberia airport. If you need a rental car, it’s next door or you can have the hotel arrange transportation for you. Check-in was a breeze. Leading up to the visit, I worked closely with Sylvia to book excursions and spa services for my stay. I recommend booking the excursions a few days to a week-2 weeks in advance. Eco quest & the catamaran was awesome and food and transportation was included! Everything worked out smoothly and so did my last minute bookings for travel arrangements when we departed. She made it very easy. The service from the staff was top notch and the biggest thing I want to call-out. Dylan arranged my birthday dinner reservations and took care of it for me. On the day of my birthday a fruit plate was sent up to my room along with a bottle of champagne. That was very thoughtful and appreciative. I had two spa services with Mali. She gives great massages, I even fell asleep. But we also chatted a lot, I practiced my Spanish with her. I left behind something for a few days and she held onto it for me. On my birthday she gave me some massage body oil which was very kind of her. The waitresses were always attentive. Kevin at the beach bar made some killer cocktails and was very friendly. I enjoyed partaking in the complimentary wellness activities. For example they offered yoga, Pilates, breath work and salsa classes. Cami was very personable and you can see she loves what she does. The Pilates class was very beginner friendly, that day no one else joined so it was a 1:1 session. The pool was refreshing and maintenance kept it clean. The rooms are large, the bed was comfortable, and we had great hot water and pressure. The AC blasted and kept the room cold on hot days. We did have one power outage but it was fixed within hours, it affected most of Tamarindo and we were out of the room for the day. The grounds are beautiful, you will see howler monkeys, iguanas, the most gorgeous sunsets. The food 10/10 from their restaurant La Plumeria. For breakfast you have the buffet, or made to order eggs, waffles, etc. The dinners were out of this world. Lobster pasta with mushrooms was my favorite. Pretty much any of the seafood based dishes was a home-run and the desserts. The meat/beef dishes, were a bit overcooked. But you can’t go wrong with having breakfast and dinner included. You won’t regret booking your stay here!

What a gem! The thoughtful layout of the property gave us quiet romantic garden pool vibes + infinity pool beachfront along busy Tamarindo boutique shopping area. And the food! Wow. Every morning we had choice for hot and cold breakfast and every evening a literal gourmet meal. We indulged for a room with a hot tub and patio which was a delight in the occasional passing rain. We had the best time exploring the vibrant nightlife of live music and performances. We rented a car on this trip and received free adjacent parking to the property with a locked gate. There are many places to stay in this area but we are absolutely delighted we chose this place. It made for a great week!
We stayed here for 4 nights - the location is great, very walkable to town and the beach. Breakfast and dinner was included - breakfast was a buffet style with made to order egg options and dinner was a set menu each night but had options to choose from. I loved that those 2 meals were included in the price and honestly, the dinner was really good. The hotel itself is quiet and small which is really nice - no kids either! The rooms were a little dated in their decor but were very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it for the price.
A hidden gem — peaceful paradise in the heart of Tamarindo - Jardín del Edén feels exactly like what you’d imagine a tropical resort to be: a quiet, lush oasis tucked away from the noise. The property itself is stunning — beautifully maintained, full of greenery, and genuinely serene in a way that’s hard to find. The hotel has no direct beach access, but honestly, it doesn’t take away from the experience. The grounds more than make up for it. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable — nothing overly flashy, which fits the vibe perfectly. Food is really good, and having breakfast and dinner included is a great perk. The hotel also offers wellness activities almost every day, which is a lovely touch. The concierge team deserves a special mention — they’ll help you arrange any tours and handle the logistics so you can just enjoy your time. Location-wise, you’re right in the middle of everything: shops and restaurants are steps away, and the beach is only a 5-minute walk. It’s not the most dramatic beach in Costa Rica, but the sunsets and sunrises are absolutely worth it. A wonderful place to recharge. Highly recommend it.
My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was perfecto! After a long journey, we were welcomed with cold eucalyptus towels to wipe off our face and hands and a welcome drink. Our room was ready and clean upon arrival. Housekeeping cleaned our room every day, which was amazing. We loved the breakfast buffet. The food was so good unlimited coffee, and the omelette and waffle station was a major plus. Private spot on the beach was amazing. We really loved the shower that was there and the amount of available. Beech shares every day. Tamarindo is beautiful and so is the property of Jardin Del Eden. I’m already planning a return trip next year!
