Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica

The resort itself is stunning: beautiful beaches, gorgeous pools, and a real sense of calm the moment you arrive. We had a private pool with so much space, which made the stay feel even more relaxing. The food was good throughout, and the staff assistance was excellent from start to finish. What really stood out was how they treated our daughter. She was gifted stuffed animals, given a little tent to play in, and the bath products were all set up for her. She even had some of her first foods during this trip. The staff were attentive to her the entire time, and it made the whole family feel genuinely cared for. She’s 18 months now and still carries around her Costa Rica sloth and coati everywhere, and we still color in the coloring book they gave her. One note: the resort is very much its own bubble of luxury, removed from everyday Costa Rican life. If you’re looking for an immersive local experience, this isn’t quite that. But as a beautiful, relaxing family getaway, it delivered completely.

Stayed here in April and had the most incredible time! Staff was friendly and the property was just gorgeous with so many amenities. All of the food we tried was great. The wellness shala is a MUST. And we did an easy wilderness hike and our tour guide Eric was so knowledgeable, friendly, and great!

We absolutely loved our stay at Four Seasons Costa Rica. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and incredibly well maintained, but what made this trip truly special was the people. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for. We also completely fell in love with the people of Costa Rica — everyone we met was so warm, friendly, and wonderful. We have traveled to many Caribbean islands and stayed at many resorts, but this is the first hotel where we felt completely satisfied with both the service and the overall experience. Even though the weather was hot and humid, the room always felt cool, fresh, and comfortable. The service throughout the resort was exceptional — golf carts would come quickly whenever we requested one, so we never had to wait long, and even the shuttle to Papagayo Park was available upon request. They really do try to spoil you and make everything as easy and enjoyable as possible. We also really appreciated how family-friendly the resort is. The kids club staff were so sweet and caring, and they made sure our daughter had a wonderful time there. We loved that the hotel has two beaches, and some of our favorite memories were simply collecting seashells and looking for hermit crabs as a family. After this stay, we are officially Four Seasons fans. Four Seasons Costa Rica is definitely our number one resort so far, and from now on we will always try to stay at a Four Seasons property whenever possible. This trip exceeded our expectations in every way, and we are already looking forward to coming back.

If you’re a couple looking for an unforgettable vacation, I honestly can’t imagine a better destination than Four Seasons Resort Peninsula Papagayo. My husband and I chose this resort for our honeymoon, and it exceeded every expectation. We’re in our late 30s/early 40s, enjoy staying active, working out, eating healthy, and occasionally treating ourselves to a good piña colada. This resort was the perfect blend of luxury, wellness, adventure, relaxation, and incredible dining. I rarely leave hotel reviews, but after staying at many luxury resorts over the years, I felt compelled to write one because the service here was truly exceptional. Every staff member embodied the Costa Rican spirit of Pura Vida and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The gym was 2 stories and incredible. Our ocean-view room was beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. One feature we especially loved was the screened balcony, which allowed us to leave the doors open, listen to the ocean, and enjoy the fresh air without worrying about mosquitoes or other bugs. One of the biggest highlights of the property is its location on a peninsula, giving guests access to two completely different beaches. One beach faces the open ocean, while the other sits on a calm bay. On a windy day, we simply moved to the bay side and enjoyed perfectly calm water. The resort also offers an adults-only pool, a main pool, and a family pool, all beautifully maintained. The food was outstanding. We dined at several restaurants throughout our stay, including the Italian restaurant, the Mediterranean beachfront restaurant, and Nemare at the golf course. Every meal was excellent, but Nemare was truly unforgettable. Earlier in the day, I met the chef while he was displaying freshly caught fish on ice. I selected a red snapper that had been caught that day, and later that evening he prepared it for dinner. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. From the appetizers to dessert, every course was exceptional, and the chef even stopped by our table to say hello. Since we were celebrating our honeymoon, the resort went above and beyond with thoughtful surprises and special touches throughout our stay. Those details made us feel genuinely valued and helped make the trip even more memorable. We also enjoyed a massage and facial at the spa, which was wonderful. The spa uses Biologique Recherche products, which was a huge bonus for us. One thing I wish I had done earlier in the trip was the staircase trail connecting the bay side of the resort to the ocean side. The trail winds through the jungle and was one of the most authentic Costa Rican experiences we had. Along the way I saw monkeys, deer, lizards, birds, and even a snake. It was both a great workout and a beautiful nature experience. My advice is to ask the concierge for directions because it’s easy to wander farther than intended. My husband is an avid golfer, so we spent a morning on the Arnold Palmer-designed golf course. The course is stunning, with a unique combination of ocean views and jungle scenery. We even saw monkeys during our round. Since I’m not much of a golfer, I booked a nine-hole lesson with Michael, and it was absolutely worth it. He made the experience fun and helped me enjoy golf more than I ever have before. The service on the course was also excellent, with complimentary snacks, drinks, cold towels, and fresh coconut water. Beyond everything else, the activities available are endless. Whether you’re interested in jet skiing, boating, fishing, snorkeling, hiking, golfing, or simply relaxing on the beach, you’ll never run out of things to do. I honestly don’t think I ate a single thing that wasn’t delicious during our entire stay. Combined with the incredible service, beautiful setting, luxurious accommodations, and endless amenities, this was one of the best resort experiences we’ve ever had. We left already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommended for couples, honeymooners, and anyone looking for a truly special Costa Rican getaway
