Our guide was phenomenal and was instrumental in delivering us an experience I will not forget. I found the trip fun and educational. Muchas Gracias Arturo

Itinerary
We will take you to the city of Arandas in the Altos de Jalisco region. This region is known for its famous tequila brands such as: Patron, Don Julio, Hunters, etc. First we will go to know the agavero fields so you can see how their process and their elaboration is. Then we will receive you in La Fabrica Camarena a prepared drink and by one of the members of the Camarena family who will walk you through the factory, describe the processes of tequila and tell you the anecdotes of his family to get to form that incredible factory. When you finish seeing the factory we will ride on horseback on the charro canvas that is inside the facility so that you can live with these beautiful animals and you can take pictures. Then we will take a 4-course tasting of tequila taught by a professional to know the correct form of its tasting and in the end, if you like, you can buy products of the brand.
We will go to eat at the most famous restaurant in Arandas: "Carnitas Jaimes" (food not included) and then we will walk through the city center to know its Church and the second largest bell in Latin America.

We had the pleasure of having Arturo as our tour guide. He made the entire experience incredible from pick up to drop off with his amiable demeanor and thorough knowledge of the area and factory. He provided a wide variety of different tequilas and taught us how to properly drink and enjoy tequila. We feel far more informed about tequila than I ever imagine. After touring the factory we had an incredible dinner with Arturo with great food and conversation. The entire day was a blast from start to finish and we truly feel as though Arturo was our friend by the end and he is more than welcome to crash at our place, anytime. He’s the best and we cannot recommend visiting Jalisco Heights with him more!
I’m super glad I went on this experience with Arturo and his brother. Arturo was super knowledgeable about the tequila making process and he was there to answer any questions I had. The experience was superb with the horseback riding, tour of la fabrica, tequila tasting and late lunch with some yummy tacos! I highly recommend this unique experience as a solo traveler, with friends or with family. I wish I could do this experience all over again! Thank you Arturo for a great day!
Great experience and service! Edgar was always very respectful and funny guy. Also we was very patience and knowledgeable of Andres Jalisco history. Thank you!
The whole experience was so valuable. I learned so much, I felt comfortable, had so much fun. The guide was personable and knowledgeable and I enjoyed the whole experience
I was fortunate enough to be able to book this tour last minute as many other companies canceled because of the world cup. This was such a well planned day and really enjoyed the company of the guide Benji. He was knowledgeable on so many levels, but also personable and was able to slightly alter the tour to my preference. We started the day at a really lovely family run Bistro in town and the owner was so hospitable. The food and beverages are excellent and I highly recommend going early to enjoy something there. I was then picked up by the guide Benji and we departed on a long drive to get to our first destination. The drive was 2 hours but it went quickly as Benji is super personable and knowledgeable about the area and provided a lot of information along the way. His English was perfect and appreciated the ease of communication. We arrived at the tequila factory which was absolutely breathtaking. The agave fields are picturesque and the grounds are immaculately maintained. It looked like a beautiful destination for a wedding or high-end event. We learned about the tequila making process, the family and history of that particular factory, and then got to horsebackride on the trails on the grounds. The horses were calm and lovely. There were also free roaming horses that joined us on parts of the walk, a mother and baby foal that were so beautiful to see. There was an option to do a tequila tasting- but for me, I am not a big day drinker, so instead, we then headed to the nearby town to see the church (which was a spectacular sight). There we learned of some history and had a chance to eat. The church really surprised me by how beautiful and stately it was. I was not expecting to see such an impressive monument. I was the only on of the tour and felt very privileged that the host did not cancel because it was a smaller group and that he took the entire day to show me the site's and teach me the history. I would highly recommend this tour for any horse lovers (beginners as well as more advanced), anyone interested in unique history and historic sites, as well as anyone interested in seeing a unique tequila factory that isn't as mainstream and trying something you probably won't ever get the chance to again.
Accommodating, kind, knowledgeable & fun! Arturo was a great host. He went above and beyond to make sure all of us could have the best experience. It all felt very personal and private. Definitely a good tour that isn’t too strenuous if you’re traveling with an older group but also fun for a younger crowd. 10/10! ⭐️
We enjoyed a highly personal and authentic experience ! It was deeply educational about the tequila making process, and you got to go deep within the factory to see all the machines. The horse ride was on the beautiful grounds surrounding the factory, followed by the tequila tasting, then the best tacos for lunch in the nearby town. The group was small but we all left as friends, and shared plenty of laughs! Highly recommend this tour.
This experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The tequila tour was fascinating, and Benji was incredibly knowledgeable about both the tequila making process and the history of the area. The horseback riding added a fun and scenic adventure to the day, making it even more memorable. To top it all off, we finished with the best carnitas I’ve ever had...truly the perfect ending. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an authentic, well-rounded experience.
Arturo went above and beyond to accommodate me for this tour. I was the only one to book, and 2 people were needed for the tour to take place. Instead of cancelling my tour, or asking me to pay for an extra person (which I offered in advance), he still took me. The trip to Arandas took about two hours from my hotel. Once we got into the tequila factory (Camarena), he explained the history of the factory , and the process of making the tequila. Afterwards, we headed to the barn inside the factory, where a horse was ready for me to ride. Instead of riding in the fields, I got to ride in the arena instead, which was perfect for me. I got to ride for about 30 minutes, and trot and canter as well. I felt bad that Arturo didn't ride with me, but he happily watched while I enjoyed my ride. After the ride, we were supposed to do lunch downtown, but knowing he had a busy schedule, we agreed to go directly back to my hotel. Once we reached my hotel, he let me sample some of the tequila from the bottles he had from the factory. It was delicious! I felt very guilty as he had to change some schedules to accommodate me. Yet, he still took the time to pick me up from the hotel, take me to the factory, give me a nice tour, ride the horse, and let me sample the tequilas back to my hotel. While the tour was quick and a bit rushed, I did exactly what I wanted and got back to my hotel early to relax as well. While it took 2 hours each way, the drive was very nice and we enjoyed the American music while talking to each other on the way. He let me spend as much time on the horse, but I wanted to be respectful of his very busy schedule, as well make sure I wasn't overworking the horse. Arturo does an amazing job taking care of his guests and explaining the factory and history. It's a must do when visiting Guadalajara, especially if you enjoy tequila and horseback riding.
Edgar was an excellent tour guide, From the moment we met he was warm and friendly. Extremely knowledgeable in the Tequila making industry. He made us feel welcome and comfortable from the get go. He really made us feel like family in a very short time. Professional in every way. I would definitely recommend this tour without hesitation to anyone traveling to Guadalajara Mexico you will not regret the experience. Absolutely outstanding!
Everything excellent, Arturo super friendly
We were in Altos de Jalisco in Arandas, we went to Hacienda Camarena, where we did a short horseback ride around the factory, we toured the factory facilities where our guide Mr. Arturo explained to us step by step the entire ancient and modern process for making tequila, then we did a tasting of 8 types of tequila and finally we went to eat at the Carnitas Jaimes restaurant, everything was very delicious. We had a good time.
I loved the experience in Arandas, the super nice place and horseback riding wow I highly recommend it!, our guide super good vibe:)
It was a lot of fun, Edgar made us feel very comfortable, safe, trip with a great friend and we loved the tour, we learned a lot about how they make tequila, we spent a pleasant afternoon on horseback riding and the place to eat the super-rich roast meat 🥰
It was a very nice experience! It fulfills all that it announces, because you know the process for tequila, tasting and horseback riding. The guide is very friendly and always explains everything you need. Just keep in mind that it is an approx 1.5-2.0 hour journey outbound and another just as return, but the realm time is worth it.
100% recommended tour. The tequila factory is very nice, the interesting tequila process and horseback riding is something that complements the ride very well. Edgar was very friendly and fun all the time, it really felt like going with a friend.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!! Excellent host, the walk is complete, as advertised, informative, fun, wonderful views during the transfer, perfect duration, the visit to the factory very well carried and the tasting a whole learning. We have done several tours of wines and tequila and we liked this one very much! It is very worth knowing the location and the village and make the ride as a different walk. We enjoyed it very much, FULLY RECOMMENDED!
It has an affordable price, the explanation inside the tequilera was excellent, a very pleasant tour and great quality. The tour on the horses was spectacular for the views and helped me quite a lot for the surprise I gave my partner, certainly a must stop. And especially very cheerful.
Very pleasant treatment, friendly and the guides know a lot about the places. It fulfills exactly what the itinerary presumes.
I am a local of Arandas and still learned many things and had an amazing time. In addition to knowing and exposing a little of the city as well as learning about the process of tequila and the history of this tequila family, I made new friends and the group behaved as if we knew each other from time ago. Highly recommended
The attention from the organizer was unbeatable, it makes you feel like it was a tour with friends, Arandas is beautiful and the tequilera is very nice, I would definitely take the tour again!
Excellent tour to know the Altos de Jalisco, they were always attentive and answered all my doubts. Go with your best outfits as there is beautiful scenery and lends itself to amazing photos
I had an amazing time with suki and mauritius, they talked about everything about their family and how to make tequila. The factory is super big and interesting. Plus I loved horseback riding. 100% recommended to go with friends or couples.
I loved this walk of Arándas explained in a very pleasant way the elaboration of tequila we were attended to the best in personal I had a better time than in Tequila since we came with very nice photos because the place is charming. Edgar and his daddy are excellent hosts, responsible and above all very funny make you feel like friends
The factory is very nice and its gardens dream, we took pictures riding horses, and above all they gave me a family attention, we met the family that has been making tequila for more than 100 years. The museum is full of stories and legends.
