Private One Day Adventure Tour In Tequila And La Fortaleza Distillery

We had such an AMAZING day with our guide, Ricardo! From start to finish, he was incredibly kind, friendly, professional, and punctual. He took us to the Fortaleza Distillery, showed us around the beautiful pueblo, and made the entire experience so much fun and memorable. To end the day, he took us to Cantaritos El Güero, which was the perfect way to finish an already incredible day! Ricardo truly went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. We felt comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. If you’re looking for a guide, we HIGHLY recommend Ricardo! We would absolutely book with him again. Ricardo is a great guide. He picked us up at the hotel and took us to two distilleries in Tequila. He showed us everything and his English is great. He knows everything, has a lot of local merchant contacts, and was very very helpful as we shopped. We enjoyed it so much that we booked him for the next in Guadalajara.

Our tour guide was Eduardo/Lalo. He was a great guide! Very informative, took us to the distilleries we wanted (Los Abuelos/Fortaleza which has a beautiful property, cave tasting room, and gave us the full spectrum of tequila making, and one other with a broad assortment of tequilas), had a good meal at The Camel Restaurant (Los Camellos Agave), and drank and partied at Cantaritos to end the day. We did the tour as part of my birthday trip and Lalo was right on point with where he took us. It was a perfect day. If all their guides are like Lalo, I highly recommend!

The Fortaleza tour is intimate and authentic. Beautiful grounds, and I highly recommend staying to enjoy their fish tacos and drinks—we could have stayed there all day. The distillery also offers non-alcoholic drinks, along with coffee, at the end of the tour. Don’t rush-that distillery is gold! I suggest bringing a hat and comfortable shoes. The tour guide at Koyote was great: knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate. He tailored the rest of the day to our needs. Highly recommend!

If you’re going to Tequila, Jalisco I would highly recommend getting a private tour. The experience was 10 out of 10 as there were all pro’s and no cons, based on our experience. Based on experiencing Tequila for the first time and on everything we saw, I would highly recommend booking a private tour. Jesus, our tour guide, made the experience simply amazing!!! Jesus communicated to us the itinerary the day before giving us ample time to prepare for the day. Jesus spoke perfect English and along the way to the city of Tequil, educated us on the history of tequila (the city and drink), how to drink tequila, and how tequila is made. Jesus ensured we were all doing good at every point of the tour and ensured everyone in our group had everything we needed ( water, snacks etc.). Jesus prepared us mentally on every step of the tour. He was quick to ensure the group did not get bothered by other tour vendors while in tequila, which was pleasant as there are an exaggerated amount of vendors at tequila. He gave us amazing food and tequila recommendations. Furthermore he always verified the group was having a good time. His attention to detail, and tentativeness was exceptional! It felt like we started the day off as strangers and left like family based on how well we got to know each other. Hands down, when booking with Koyote tours, request Jesus as you will not regret it!

Not what I was expecting but a great time nonetheless. Less of a tour, more like booking a driver for the day. Very friendly, great driver, a little English (to match our little Spanish). He took us to Fortaleza (a must-visit, absolutely outstanding) and then let us do what we wanted. We had an appointment at Arette (must go) and then he took us for lunch and drinks at a roadside spot. Delicious molcajete. Then back to Guadalajara. We loved the freedom and were comfortable with limited English, but if you’re looking for a structured day this may not be for you. It was definitely for us - highly recommended.

This distillery makes tequila the old fashioned way and it shows. The tour included the entire distillery the blue agave fields and a climb to a fabulous lookout viewing the entire property. Our guide Estrella spoke both English and Spanish and was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the Sauza family now making tequila like their ancestors did 100 years ago. It shows in the quality and taste of their product. As a side note I was particularly impressed with the fields of corn and other vegetables as well as a stock of chickens, ducks and sheep used to support the diet of the employees and their families.

Jesus was a phenomenal tour guide!!!! I learned so much about Tequila history of jalisco. Other tours were passing through while I had plenty of time to ask questions and sample Tequila. Fortaleza did not disappoint, you'll learn about the family's history and see what separates their products from some of the larger brands. You'll definitely leave with an appreciation of their process. Although its one of the higher priced tours, I got more than my money's worth.

I can’t say enough good things about this tour company and our guide, Jesus. We booked the Fortaleza distillery tour, which also included a visit to a second distillery and ended with a stop at Cantaritos. From the start, Jesus was punctual, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. On the drive, he gave us a fascinating history of tequila that really set the tone for the day. The second distillery was a hidden gem—Jesus gave us a private tour and walked us through their entire process with such detail and passion. After the Fortaleza tour, he took us into the town of Tequila, where he showed us the main historical sites before we stopped for a delicious lunch. Cantaritos was a blast, and thanks to Jesus and his local know-how, we skipped the long lines and got right in. When my husband mentioned he was hungry later, Jesus made a quick stop at a taco spot that served some of the best tacos we had on the trip! I highly recommend this tour company—especially Jesus. When we return to Guadalajara, we will absolutely be booking another day tour with him!

What an amazing day! Our guide, Jesus, was so friendly and informative. We started out the tour listening to him explain the different types of tequila processing, how to properly taste tequila, and a little about Guadalajara. Our first stop was at Fortaleza, one of the most beautiful properties with a very rich history and artisan distilling practices. Highly recommend! After that, Jesus took us to a larger tequila distillery, Tres Tono’s, which produces many more tequilas, under different labels, and much bigger distribution. Very interesting to see the difference between the two. We then visited the town of Tequila, had some delicious food, walked around a bit and talked more with Jesus about Mexican culture. We finished our night at Cantaritos el Guero, a crazy but quintessentially Tequila experience! We had such a wonderful day and we cannot recommend Jesus enough - he made it even more memorable!

Juan was the most amazing guide and this was a truly amazing excursion! The drive to Tequila was a bit challenging, but Juan did a great job of driving and pointing out all the points of interest along the way. The Tour of the Forteleza distillery was very informative, entertaining, and truly amazing. Our guide Eunice did an excellent job of educating us on the history of the history of Tequila (the town and the spirit), the Forteleza company, and the Suaza family. The Tequila tasting was delicious and the food after the tours was great. Overall one of the best tours we have ever been a part of. If you enjoy great tequila and value history, then you must book this excursion!

This tour was perfect, our guide picked us up at the place we were staying and took us out to El Arenal fist for a smaller distillery and then to Tequila for Fortaleza. Fortaleza was amazing. Last stop was Cantaritos El Güero.

Driver was great extremely accommodating. After our distillery reservations he was extremely flexible with wherever we wanted to go or do . Fortaleza distillery was my favorite tour also felt very private tour guides were extremely knowledgeable.Had a great time and felt safe traveling back and forth from Guadalajara.

The rather long program shows the visitor two tequila distilleries: one that produces for international export and one that produces one of the highest quality tequilas in the world. Both included tequila tasting with an expert guide. The first distillery showcased the traditional way of tequila-making, while the second detailed the phases of quality tequila production. The walking involved was more than anticipated, and some of the distillery rooms had a very strong smell, but I guess this is part of the experience. A fantastic program overall. The visit to the town of Tequila had a surprise for us: we were lucky enough to see Voladores de Papantla (indigenous men flying around a pole)—an ancient ritual recognized as a UNESCO cultural heritage.

This was the best tour experience I have ever had! Our tour to Tequila was lead by Jesus Agustin and we couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. He made sure we received the best experience. We got to go to the Don Valente distillery, which is a tequila that can only be found in Mexico. It is by far one of the best tequilas we have had. We ended up buying a few bottles to take back to the U.S. Also, the Fortaleza distillery was absolutely amazing. Upon entering I literally felt like I was entering Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory, the experience is something I highly recommend to anyone that enjoys a good tequila, and Fortaleza is definitely one of the best. We also bought some bottles at their store - Just an FYI, they were only allowing one purchase of the Añejo per tour group and luckily we scored one. We also got to walk around the beautiful town of Tequila and eat some of the best food I have ever had…so much flavor! Also got to go to Los Cantaritos which is a MUST! Over all this tour was a 10/10! Highly recommend! Jesus Agustin was outstanding! Thank you again.

We were initially a little reluctant because there were not many reviews for this tour. But we booked anyway. And we are glad we did. Our guide was Jesus (named Jess here by a mistake made by the company). Jesus did a phenomenal job taking us around. He speaks excellent English and Spanish. We got picked up at our hotel on time and he spent the day with us. We made stops at 3 distilleries and two restaurants. This tour is private, so it will only be your party and your driver. You will run into other groups at the distilleries but the tour you book here is private. You still get the same attention at the distilleries as if you were on a non-private tour.

La Fortaleza is an incredibly impressive distillery. They give you a thorough and highly informative tour, showcasing every aspect of the process. There are numerous photo opportunities that you absolutely shouldn't miss. Additionally, they took us to Don Valente where the tequila was delicious, and we ended up buying a few bottles. The viewpoint offered breathtaking views, and the town of Tequila itself is a wonderful place to visit. I highly recommend taking this tour. The transportation was private, and our driver was exceptionally accommodating.

trip was great... we left our liquor and other stuff in the van when we got dropped off. I got my stuff back, but it took a little time. Things out of my bag were not there and later the driver found it saying it fell out. no way it fell out. It was our fault we left the stuff in the van at the end of the trip, but they didn't reach out to let us know till we called them the following day.

The rich history, impeccable craftsmanship, and incredible tastings made this visit an absolute highlight. A must for tequila aficionados seeking an authentic and unforgettable experience, plus the visit to Tequila Downtown, and The Mirador was truly exceptional!

This tour was great! Despite the inaccurate description, we went to 2/3 tequila tastings and 1 attraction not 3 distilleries. La Fortaleza is an amazing tequila distillery and would go again! Wear covered shoes. Having a private driver was the best thing about this tour aside from the tequila! They assigned us Eber, he was a local who didn't speak much English but was very attentive and made the experience smooth and comfortable. It was very hot so it was really nice to have a private car waiting for you outside of every tour. Overall experience was great for our first time to Tequila! Would totally recommend this tour.

This tour was absolutely amazing! We started off with a tour of Fortaleza's distillery. You learn so much from the guides and it's evident they love what they do. We also went to the columpio extremo and it was fun! We got to see so many other things but the Fortaleza tour was the best part. I definitely recommend!
