Elena provided us a wonderful tour despite the congestion around the World Cup Fan Fest. She taught us so much about the city and was a wealth of information. This was great for us to do in the late afternoon on our arrival day to Guadalajara. Excellent value!
Wonderful! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. We learnt so much about the history & culture of not just Guadalajara but of the entire region.
Our tour with Alex exceeded our expectations! He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and the culture. He was able to show us several places that were not on our radar nor could we have gone into them without him as our guide. It was a very delightful experience!
Thiago was great! He was very knowledgeable about Guadalajara and its history. We would definitely recommend this to anyone!
We really enjoyed Elena. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Was totally worth it.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided us with a great overview of Guadalajara and some of the main highlights. We very much enjoyed it.
From start to finish, this tour was nothing short of phenomenal. Tlane is an absolute gem. She is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what she does. Her energy, insight, and genuine care turned a great tour into an unforgettable experience. Every moment felt thoughtfully guided and deeply enriching. We learned so much, had a lot of fun, and left with memories we will cherish for a long time. Thank you for making our experience so special, Tlane. We would recommend this tour to all. P.S don’t eat before you go!! The food tour and tasting was the best food we had in the area.
Guide was on time and shared a lot of good history. The suggested meal locations was nice, but I’d note which ones were in the historic center vs a taxi ride away.
This tour was extremely helpful for an orientation on the city for our first day. Our guide had valuable restaurant recommendations and shopping advice. Her love for Guadalajara was convincing. My group liked most her explanations of the meaning behind the outdoor sculptures in front of the Cabanas Museum.
If your looking for a stroll around the center of the city with plenty of historic information, this is a great economic tour to take! Our guide was amazing, very patient even when we were running very late and he proceeded to wait for us. Thiago was the best! Really knows his stuff, and even made stops that we requested and really accommodates on our necessity. 5 star service even for a simple walking tour. Thank you!
We took our tour with Tlane. She is very knowledgeable and showed us a fun time. We were able to see so much and get great pictures. I recommend booking with her!
The whole tour was fun. Tlane our guide was great, she is a tapatia that certainly loves her city, her state and her country and it shows. She was very entertaining, enthusiastic and full information. She was great!
Tleni had a definitively youthful perspective on history — one from middle class Mexico. If I had written this on the day we took the tour, I might not have been as generous. 3 days later, I’ve had time to process, see some art, walk through the streets, experience some national holidays, etc. I can begin to see how my own cultural values might have caused me to have a somewhat myopic interpretation of events. Good on Tleni for daring to offer the government line and an alternative perspective. So glad we visited the Museo Hospicio Cabañas the next day! With context came understanding! Great tour, Tleni!
Carlos was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the history of the city. He was so kind with answering our many questions. I would give him 6 stars if possible. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
We took the tour with Tlane who was a great guide, she has a lot of knowledge and makes the explanation very interesting.
Carlos is a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable, great English, affable. Would highly recomend. Tour was a perfect length and provided a wonderful introduction to Guadalaja.
Everything went perfectly from pick up to drop off with my guide Juan Carlos. He was very informative and even gave me tips for places to go eat and drink around town. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a private tour of Guadalajara center!
Our tour guide was Tlane and she very lovel and outgoing . The places we went to were very nice and the history behind it even better .she help us also by recommending spots to eat and other places must see or try. Will recommend this tour if u are looking into this tour.
It was a great tour 👍 She is very knowledgeable about the city and told me interesting stories behind each buildings and streets. And she knows where to get some real local coffee and delicious tacos 😋 Wish I could stay longer and explore more next time when everything opens up!
We (4 of us) learned a Coles Notes of Guadalajara history and helpful explanations of life in the State of Jalisco and the City of Guadalajara. A tidbit of information about the Cathedral helped put all the show and glory of the interior in perspective and the explanation of a 5-piece grouping of statues encapsulated the history of Guadalajara up to the present day. Thoroughly enjoyable young woman.
My mother and I had a wonderful experience on this tour with Tlane as our guide. She was insightful and engaging with stories and facts. I highly recommend taking this tour.
We participated in the English speaking your today but had difficulty understanding the tour guide as we were only English speaking. There was also a couple of non English speakers on the tour so the guide would try to explain what was going on in English and then revert back to a Spanish explanation which made the tour lag. We finally left after about 45 minutes into the tour as we just weren't able to understand enough to get anything out of it. Interesting enough we took this same tour last year but had another guide and it was one of the better tours in which we have ever participated . I'd say it's a hit or miss depending on the guide.
I looked for the pink umbrella. The tour guide was timely since I arrived a few minutes early. She was very informative about the history and legacy of the city central. We walked through out the city for two-hours and there was never a dull moment. Would definitely recommend it. They only receive tips and recommend two hundred pesos about ten dollars.
We had the best free Walking tour in Guadalajara! Our Tourguide Carlos knews everything about the city and showed us around. After the tour you know the city, the culture, the history and even the food! Becase Carlos took us to a foodmarket and we tried different stuff there. Thank you for this amazing tour !
My wife and I always try to do these where ever they are offered. Very informative and given by local guides who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable of their city. Carlos our guide was no exception. A fairly large group of about twenty of us with 5 English speakers and the rest Spanish. He spent equal time with both groups in such a way it did not take away from the experience of the tour. Not only did we get a wonderful tour of Guadalajara Cento but he also helped my wife and I locate other sites to see and direct us to where we would see great mariachi music. Highly Recommended. Yes it is free, so please tip the guide generously, it is still a much better deal than if you booked a paid experience with a tour company.
The tour that was supposed to be an English - speaking tour was changed to predominantly Spanish - speaking because a couple accidentally arrived for the wrong tour.
Clane was a wonderful guide for our walking tour. Her love of her city and her pride in its history and art was delightful and we considered ourselves very fortunate to have had the benefit of her sharing it with us!
If this is your first time in Guadalajara's Centro Historico district, THIS is the tour you want to sign up for. My husband and I booked this tour for the morning of our first full day in Guadalajara. We were lucky that there was a light rain the morning of the tour and the others who signed up for the walking tour did not show up. But our guide, Carlos was right there on time with his pink umbrella and we had him all to ourselves! Lucky us! Carlos was a fantastic guide full of knowledge about the city's history and the significance of its architectural delights. We most admired his enthusiasm, passion and ability to share his historical knowledge as a back drop for more contemporary issues the city is facing. This walking tour was laid out perfectly and it really helped us get oriented to our surroundings and to some of the sights we knew we wanted to go back to for further exploration. We also asked our guide about places to eat certain foods and all of his recommendations were spot on! Carlos was an exceptional guide and a great ambassador for both his city and his country. Well versed in both English and Spanish, well-traveled, passionate, funny and insightful, and genuinely enthusiastic in welcoming visitors. THANK YOU!
Great tour. the information shared was really helpful for me and I could understand a lot about Guadalajara history. Real facts, and curiosities. Really interesting
For next three days says trips sold out/cancelled..what a shame!! Help! I really want to go on one of these
It is a great introduction to the sights in Guadalajara in the walking area of plaza de armas. You can go back to the areas of interest another day to go inside and shop the markets or museums that we visited on the outside. He did go into the cathedral. Carlos was a very good guide and we would recommend it to a start of a visit to Guadalajara.
Great atmosphere ..very relaxe and for a free tour Our guide provided a lot of information also all the additional questions he was able to answer ..very kind guy ...thank u Diego I learned a lot and you was great :D
Our guide was very informative and friendly abd the historic centre is not to be missed; we will have to go back to delve into what was dabbled in. The historic centre should be divided into two walking tours as two hours was somewhat tiring and there wasn't enough time to stop at what we saw and had to rush through. This was partly due to the fact that we had signed up for a tour in English and the group to.which we were assigned were Spanish speakers, so the guide obliged us with translations.
My daughter and I enjoyed this walking tour with Carlos a lot! First of all, we were running about 5 min late and were pleased to easily detect our guide and a small group in a crowed central square by the bright pink umbrella! Carlos is a charming, cheerful, well spoken and a very knowledgeable guide, with perfect English. He showed us all the places of interest around the city center, with perfect amount of information about every one of them (quite a lot but not boringly overwhelming or dry), mentioning historic events as we progressed, describing local and national customs, cultural traditions, telling us some interesting legends. We walked through the interiors of several churches and strolled through the colorful Liberty market (our pace made it possible for us to buy things along the way). His tour is very lively and informative. His ability to draw his audience's attention to the points of interest and make stops at the best viewing positions is very professional. He also was able answer all of our random questions :), and made many great recommendations about places to see, places to try various foods and drinks. Highly recommend this tour and Carlos!
On our first day in Guadalajara at 10:00 am we had a great walking tour with Carlos, our guide. It was easy to spot Carlos as he was carrying a bright pink umbrella at the plaza as stated in the description. People in our group spoke both Spanish and English so our guide would explain each new location, statue, etc. in both languages. He was both informative and interesting. We walked a lot for a little over 2 hours and I would strongly recommend comfortable walking shoes. Since there was no fee charged we gave Carlos a well-deserved tip at the end of the tour. I would strongly recommend this tour to get the lay of the land in central Guadalajara.
Tlane did a great job explaining in both English and Spanish. The pace was great, as you had some time to listen and walk and also shop if desired. Thanks Tlane!
We did the walking tour of the Centro Historico with Carlos - all I can say it that he was excellent. His knowledge was incredible and his passion for his city was obvious. He was funny and charming and we got a true sense of place and culture. I work in tourism and he honestly was one the best local guides I have had.
Tlane was amazing! Her tour really gave us an idea of what to do and she personalized it for my daughter and I. I would 1000% recommend her tour to anyone. Definitely try the tejuino!
I took this 2+ hour tour with Tlane (our guide – a very nice ± 30-yr old woman) and 3 other people. You meet at the Plaza des Armes beside the Cathedral, at the perugla right at 10 AM. The tour hit all of the main sights in the Centro Historico, and Tlane really know her history and spoke excellent English: she was always able to answer questions and fun to get off-topic at times. She also shared with us some of her favorite haunts – for coffee, chocolate, etc.
The guide Valeria was friendly, described things in an easy way to understand, asked us about our doubts and gave me a nice experience knowing Guadalajara.
English: We had the best time! Our tour guide was Tlane and she was extremely attentive with me and my family, always checking in with us and letting us set the pace of the tour without falling behind on schedule. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about every place we visited. We learned a lot about Guadalajaras city center. Viewing the historical center of the city through Tlanes eyes and words, you get to see a piece of the complex cultural richness of the city and of Mexico and how it has affected the people, politics and way of living. At the end of the tour Tlane took us to a local taco place where we had a delicious meal and neatly tied up a tour of getting to know part of this beautiful city. 100% recommended! This guided tour with Carlo I can recommend to all travelers. It is not only interesting but also entertaining and entertaining with the opportunity to take a look behind the facades of the city. It is worth it! 😎😎😎😎😎😎
We found it an excellent tour, with a very cheerful guide. Excellent. We toured good places, well explained with good energy.
I really enjoyed the tour, Yolanda the Guide excellent, very friendly. A lot of history, there is a lot of valuable information, it is a great opportunity to know the sites in such a detailed way. They're very kind. They don’t get paid, but it’s important to value the work and tip well.
