I enjoyed it tremendously being able to walk the city, learn the history of the city, and eat great food. It was a perfect mix and it did feel as it was tailored for me.

For me, the experience was unique and wonderful, seeing so many historical places with our guide Noemí who showed us every corner, even the food we tasted was delicious
Noemi was wonderful! Her love for Guadalajara is apparent in every word she speaks. My husband and I learned so much about the city's history and were treated to amazing food that we wouldn't have tried otherwise. A must do tour if you are new to the city, and looking for a robust overview to ground yourself in the culture. It was fantastic!
We had an incredible experience on this full day tour with our amazing guide Noemi (Mimi)! She brought Guadalajara’s history to life with warmth, humor, and fascinating local stories. From a delicious birria breakfast in a historic mansion to the vibrant murals of Orozco and hidden legends of the city, every stop was a highlight. The tour ended perfectly at a 105-year-old cantina where we sampled 3030 tequila — the perfect toast to an unforgettable day. Highly recommended!
Naomi was great. She made contact right after booking to arrange pick up and to talk about what I wanted to see eat and so. Entire day very interesting and the food was great.
I always try to do a Viator in each city that I go to with a local tour guide. Naomi was great and I contacted her a few days before and she found out what I wanted to do my interest and she tailored my day tour. She was on time met me at our pick up Location and was professional and knew the city.
Ive traveled around the world and this tour now rates as the BEST tour experience I’ve ever had. Noemi had an abundance of knowledge that catered to the specific interest I preferred. She was also very accommodating in adding more time to preferred locations and shortening others as needed. I felt the tour was planned properly to exhibit key locations in Guadalajara. The food location she has selected are very unique to the area and promote the culture. The value she brings to this tour is unrivaled I spent the entire day with her and she provided breakfast, lunch, snacks, treats, drinks and music. Noemi also made me feel safe but more so like a friend you know very well that you haven’t seen in a few years. Yes you will walk and yes it’s the best way to enjoy Guadalajara! 100% recommend this full day tour. If I get the opportunity to be part of another tour she offers I will do so in the future.
My adult daughter and I just finished our tour with Noemi and it was by far the most enjoyable tour we’ve taken. We learned so much about the local food and history of Guadalajara and Noemi was so entertaining in her stories of the past. She has a great sense of humour and is so knowledgeable about this city. We tried many different drinks and food! Her English was excellent and we strongly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning more about this incredible city from a local who is passionate about her culture and city. Thank you Noemi for an incredible day!!
An amazing tour! Noemi was an outstanding guide—her love for Guadalajara and its history shone through every stop. The food was delicious, the cultural insights were fascinating, and the whole experience felt personal and meaningful. Highly recommend!
This tour was the highlight of our 3 night stay in Guadalajara. Noemi was a delight to be with touring the city highlights and food stops. You can tell she is very proud of her city and her knowledge reflects that passion. She is very professional, has a great sense of humour, and seems to be well recognized by staff at all the sites visited. My wife and I, and our friends thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Be prepared for a full day packed full of culture, history, meals, and snacks brought to you by the most engaging guide and host ever! Incredibly worthwhile, could not recommend more highly.
We had a magnificent time, and Noemi was a fabulous host, she is a remarkable ambassador for Guadalajara. She is passionate about the history and culture of the city and it's founders. The day of our tour was the same day as my birthday. Noemi had a small, tasty little cake for me, it was so nice and thoughtful, and even ended with another little cake at the end of the tour. It was a fantastic day, and I didn't think it could have been better Noemi was very patient, she explained everything to me in English and what my friend didn't understand she would repeat to him in Espanol with no problem. She is a wonderful person, and I felt very safe and comfortable walking everywhere with her.
This tour only includes two restaurants and does not provide an abundance of food to sample from a variety of restaurants. The majority of the time was spent on a walking cultural tour in the heat. This tour is not recommended.
This is not just a food tour. This is a celebration of the food and culture that make Guadalajara what it is and Noemi is the most enthusiastic and informative guide. The food is wonderfully paced throughout the tour and takes advantage of fresh seasonal specialties, fresh pitaya is an experience. The tour provides ample opportunity to try food from preferred street vendors as well as dishes from restaurants that have been generational institutions for families in Guadalajara. Noemi won’t just take you to get birria. She will take you to get birria from the best birria spot in the best birria neighborhood in town and when a local asks you where you went they’ll usually mention that that’s their favorite spot too while nodding approvingly. If you have the opportunity to try Tejuino go for it; so refreshing! Providing breaks from eating there is the culture part. While walking around Guadalajara you’ll visit churches, museums, and the odd government building, if you’re lucky. Together they, with Noemi as a translator, tell the story of the history and people of Guadalajara from the very beginnings of the city to the present day. Again I can’t think of a better way to spend a day in Guadalajara. You get so much from this tour. The food is amazing. The drinks are amazing. The culture is amazing and Noemi is by far the best ambassador Guadalajara could ask for. Do yourself a favor and spend a day falling in love with Guadalajara.
I thoroughly recommend Noemi’s tour. Her passion for her city and culture are infectious. I came away knowing more than I ever imagined I would about Gaudalajara and wider Mexico in terms of history, culture, customs, art, music, food, and more. Noemi has clearly put a lot of work into planning the tour. We visited all the major sights in the city centre, plus a whole lot of other less well-known things and small details that I would otherwise have missed. We tried a wide variety of different food and drink. The tour aided me in getting my bearings in the city, and Noemi’s advice really helped me make the most of the remainder of my trip. Throughout the whole day Noemi had boundless energy. She is a gold mine of information, all delivered with humour, warmth and of course in absolutely perfect English. I had a wonderful day. Thank you Noemi!
An incredible walking tour! Naomi was nothing short of an amazing tour guide. Being a "Tapatios" she is not only proud of her city but a wealth of knowledge be it history, places to visit as well as where to eat. I had an amazing day eating my way through the cultural sites of Guadalajara. I highly recommend booking this tour with Naomi.
Highly recommended. Great mix of history, art, culture and cuisine! I was a solo traveler so this was a great way to see the sights with insights.
I'd like to write this review in English so it reaches as many people as possible because Noemi really deserves much more attention. Her tour was the best experience we had while visiting Guadalajara. She is knowledgeable, caring, detail-oriented, and from the moment you book a tour with her, you can see how much she loves her city and what she does. She told us she wanted to create a tour that she herself would love to take, and I believe she has succeeded in doing so. My husband and I spent the entire day learning amazing facts about Guadalajara, trying on some of the most iconic beverages and dishes from the city, and getting to know little corners and details that made us feel like locals. We came back to a few of the places she introduced us to during the next couple of days because her recommendations are spot on. Take it from a Mexican couple who sometimes struggles with these kinds of experiences: just book her tour. You'll be delighted, exhausted, and completely glad you did it. I think she single-handedly managed to make us want to come back to Guadalajara for a second visit.
Noemi was such a great guide! My boss and I were in town for a couple days on a work trip and only had one day off to explore Guadalajara. Since I had never been I really wanted to make the most of it and see as many major sites as possible, experience the culture, learn, and try a variety of local food. And this tour truly delivered in all aspects. Noemi knew so much about the area and was a true pleasure to spend the day with. One of my favorite things about her tour is that it was not like the typical super tourist'y tours you often get while on vacation and it was clear that there was no back end deals with merchants and restaurants. This is her own small business where she clearly put a lot of work and study into planning a fun and informative route where she takes you to her own personal favorite food spots and stands (all wonderful with a nice variety) but also allows plenty of room for customization: say your more into churches and want to focus more time on that or want to shop a bit while in the huge market: she was very accommodating... The one potential negative (as mentioned by others) is to be ready for a long day... We did over 16k steps and didnt get done till close to 7pm. But it was all at a casual pace that most could handle. Anyways, very highly recommend this tour!
The food and historical tour was awesome. Our guide, Noemi Castillo, a native to Guadalajara was very informative and personable. She guided us to the best food, snacks and market. We really loved her expertise.
We received an excellent overview of the city, it’s history, culture politics, art, and great food. Neomi was friendly and charming and generally wonderful. Very highly recommended. This was more of a general tour of the city than specifically gastronomic. There definitely was discussion (and eating) of some wonderful food, but also murals, history, churches, neighborhoods. It is a significant amount of walking - ours was 7.3 miles (12k). But it was slow and mostly flat walking. Our tour began at 9 am and didn’t finish until 6 pm.
Noemi was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, genuine, and knowledgeable. She gave us an overview and history of her beloved city. She did whatever she could to make the whole experience enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Amazing tour! Naomi was so great. She gave use a tour of the city, food, sites and history of Guadalajara! Be prepared to eat tons of food! Be prepared to walk! Our 82 year old mother was able to hang in there the entire tour. This was a great way to get to learn about the culture, food and history! I highly recommend this tour and worth every penny! Thank you Naomi!
Noemi’s Gastronomy city tour was excellent! I couldn’t ask for a better tour guide on my first and a very limited time in Guadalajara. We started at 9 am and didn’t get done until around 6:30 pm. It was worth the money I booked for a solo tour (the introvert in me). Noemi was very knowledgeable and an amazing planner. Starting the tour with an amazing breakfast then museum then so on was just what a foodie and a traveler like me needed and wanted. I don’t really know much about the history of Guadalajara but with Noemi’s tour and knowledge it was a great learning about the city itself experience. Highly recommend for those of you who has never been to Guadalajara to book Noemi as your tour guide. You will never be disappointed. I can’t rave enough the food and history of the city. Oh and make sure to bring a water bottle and umbrella in the event that it rains or it’s too hot for you to go around town. Almost importantly keep an open mind and come hungry to the tour! 😬
Trying the best chivó birria, trying pitahaya ice cream. Meeting the creator of this fantastic ice cream. The San Juan de Dios market where we stopped and had lunch and shopped. Museum Cabañas was amazing. Noemi was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We both enjoyed our day with her. I recommend her and her tour.
Naomi was a great host....very informative and her enthusiasm for the city is contagious. The food was fantastic!! Thank you Naomi.
I did a private tour with Noemi on April 20th. It was a very full and enjoyable day. (There was a lot of walking involved. I consider myself to be in excellent condition and I was tired before it was over. ) Noemi is a real history buff and a lover of Guadalajara. She told me the history of everything we saw and made it much more interesting than if I had been looking at it on my own. The food we ate was also delicious and plentiful. (I passed on a few treats because it was just too much for me.) I highly recommend her tour - especially if you love history and want to see as much of Guadalajara as possible in a short time-frame.
This has been one of the best tours we have done in our various travels over the years. Noemi is passionate about her hometown and all it’s culture. She did a fantastic job hosting us for the entire day (early morning to night). Her energy was felt from beginning to end. The food spots were delicious and authentic. The museum tours were educational, especially the “ladies bridge”. I have been to Guadalajara several times in the past and have seen many areas. Noemi added to my experience by providing in-depth and first hand history about the city. My husband really enjoyed her enthusiasm and personality. Our 10 year old son really took to Noemi and didn’t want the tour to end. Do not hesitate to sign up for the tour. It is worth every penny.
I totally recommend this tour. It’s a fantastic experience. Noemi is so professional, she knows very well the city and has a plenty knowledge about history, also we enjoyed the food breakfast , lunch and snacks were so delicious . She is very open to your interest and where do you want to go and learn about the city
Noemi picked us up at our hotel and we ubered into the center of town. We immediately went to a restaurant for a yummy breakfast at Birrieria el Paidano and then started our walking tour of the city. We started at the Lady's bridge which is an amazing underground bridge with five arches. Then we walked through some neighborhoods and through the TOW churches. We visited the Journalism museum, Cathedral and catacombs, Instituto Cultural Cabanas, and, and... We experienced so many places there are too many to list here. But when we went back and look at the top 15 things to see in Guadalajara, we basically hit them all with Noemi and this tour! Noemi is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her hometown, Guadalajara!
Noemi is a fantastic guide, not simply because she knows all the places to take you and all the best food to eat, but because she is so knowledgeable and charming. She and I literally spent the entire day together poking fun at each other, while she taught me about the city and bought me all the local snacks and food I could handle. If you’re after a very genuine tour where your guide won’t just passively lead you through the entire experience, then this is the one to book.
I had a great time eating local food in a restaurant, market, and from a street vendor. I enjoyed the meals and very much appreciated the explanation and background information provided by Noemi Castillo. This tour also included leisurely stops at heritage sites. Ms. Castillo’s expert commentary helped me understand the city’s history and current transformation. There’s nothing better than discovering a city and its culinary tradition with the guidance of a native who loves and honors her birthplace. This tour offers huge bang for the buck. Unlike some tours, it absolutely has no hidden agenda to pressure you to buy souvenirs at designated places. I highly recommend this tour.
This is the perfect tour! It’s a great way to get an overview of Guadalajara’s history, people, and traditional foods. Noemi is incredibly enthusiastic about sharing her city with her guests and tailors the tour to your interests and needs. Highly recommend!
Noemi is an exceptional tour guide. I highly recommend her food tour. She is extremely knowledgeable. She made the tour both informative, but fun. I highway recommend you take her tour 😋
This tour was Great! and its well worth the price! Noemi keeps it to a personal tour no matter how small, (in my case 1) your group is. She is VERY knowledgeable AND passionate about showing you and sharing "all things Guadalajara" If you are lucky enough to book this tour, get ready for a full day. She packed in everything I wanted to see and more. I got to taste truly authentic local cuisine, She answered all the questions that came up throughout the day and she was very patient with all picture taking. I whole heartedly LOVED spending the day with Noemi and thoroughly recommend it. She's a local who understands her country and is proud to share.
This tour was absolutely wonderful! We had an amazing time with our guide Noemi who was both a consumate professional and extremely knowledgeable. Our tour had a minor mix up (not our guides fault) and she handled everything with such ease and consideration to all parties that we were all able to have a very fun and safe tour. Wear comfortable shoes and get ready for lots of lo cal food and fun.
Our guide, Noemi, greeted us in a beautiful traditional dress (see picture below) and started our day with breakfast in a historical district restaurant. While we ate, she told us the significance of the buildings and area. The food was outstanding! What we loved about the tour is learning the history and culture of Guadalajara and how it’s tied to the food and drink. Noemi is very knowledgeable and has a sense of humor! We highly recommend this walking tour of the downtown area of Guadalajara. I’d rate this tour 10 stars!! We will remember our time with Noemi with smiles! The day flew by before we knew it! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes because you’ll need them.
A very thorough tour of relevant and historically interesting aspects of Guadalajara. Naomi was very knowledgeable, fun, and sincere! Naomi loves her city and it shows in the passion she brings to the tour. She also handled our tab everywhere we went which was nice (it's included in the price). Her English was great and was able to answer all of my questions. If you are interested in history, architecture, and a little culinary curiosity, then this tour will be good for you.
Noemi’s “Knowledgeable” areas of town were on point. My family and I had a blessed excellent time touring and were shared detail time lines that helped us visualize as Noemi was explaining it to us.
We love spending the day with Noemi. She loves her city and super excited in sharing her knowledge about it. She’s happy to answer our never ending questions about life in Guadalajara and tailored our tour a little bit on the go based on our interest. Highly recommended!
This is a fabulous tour. We covered a lot of ground and got to see so much we would have missed had we not had Naomi leading the way. We started the morning at a classic restaurant that is written up in travel magazines. Then visited the newly opened Ladies Bridge, various historical buildings, and the market for lunch. The tour was private and Naomi was so kind allowing us to tailor the tour to accommodate our desires and physical abilities. We highly recommended this tour. Naomi is passionate about GDL, it’s history, and food.
This walking tour was fun because it was a combination of food, architecture and history. Noemi picked us up on time and we started with a nice breakfast. There were too many stops to mention but it was great having someone to guide you around. It made our visit more meaningful. Noemi was super knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed sharing her love of the city. I would book a tour with Noemi again.
It's good place, I loved the cathedral of guadalajara, the food is very good, I tried the cakes drowned are delicious and the tacos would do it again
