The Charro experience with Marco was very educational and thorough. Marco lives and breathes the Charro standards and kept us engaged throughout the tour. We practiced lassoing and rode a beautiful horse! In the end, he gave us a insightful history of Mexico and how the Charros originated and influenced the culture. He also shared the Charro principles which resonated with us.
I had the chance to visit Lienzo Charros de Jalisco and learn more about the tradition, values, and heart behind charreria. What stood out to me most was the relationship between the charro and the horse; the trust, discipline, respect, patience, and connection it takes to move together as one. I learned that being a charro is about much more than the clothing or the sport. It represents honor, courage, loyalty, respect, tradition, and pride in where you come from. This experience also made me think about the way I've always loved; deeply, passionately, and especially the women who have been important in my life. Maybe that comes from something rooted even deeper in me. In my genes, I have the heart of a Mexican and the soul of a charro. Being there reminded me just how beautiful and powerful my culture is. There is something special about experiencing traditions that have been passed down through generations and seeing them kept alive with so much pride. And the saying is true: when you come to Lienzo Charros de Jalisco, you leave a more Mexican than when you came.

This was one of the best cultural experiences I’ve ever booked while on vacation! We learned so much about charro culture and history, and it gave me such a deeper insight into Mexico and the Mexican people. The talk was informative, inspiring, funny, and engaging. The lasso lesson and horse-riding was so fun and made me want to continue learning to ride at home. I fell in love with Mexico and the charro way!

I have learned so much from him about the history of charro culture, its code of honor, and its high aesthetic beauty of Charreria. I guarantee after your visit, you will see this sport with a fresh perspective, and bring part of this Mexican culture back home with you. It was not my first experience with horses (since the school where I teach has a strong riding program and I am surrounded with riders and riding teachers), but it was my first time I started to experience the gentleness and especially the mutual trust between the horses and myself (thanks to Marco!). This was an amazing experience! We learned about the rich history and origins of Charrería through engaging demonstrations and hands-on activities, including the opportunity to learn how to throw a lasso. We also enjoyed a tequila tasting and were serenaded with traditional music, which made the experience even more memorable. It was a unique, authentic, and wonderful cultural experience that I would highly recommend.

An amazing experience! I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to learn about charro history and experiencing it for a day. My instructor was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and courteous. The faculty is well maintained, and everyone was nice.

I’ve been interested in learning more about who the Charro is for the past few years and this is the first time I’ve been to anything that answers that and I’d say it was such an interesting experience that I wish I could re-live for the first time again. He covers unique figures in their history, how the sport came to be, let us wrangle a bull and more. I’m very happy this is something I did on my first trip to Guadalajara.

Discovering Charros de Jalisco was one of the most memorable moments of my trip to Mexico. The Entre Charros tour is thorough and engaging, and the hosts share their passion for horses and their heritage with sincerity and warmth. I was so inspired that I asked if it might be possible to get a short introduction to Charrería. After a few lessons, I even had the chance to take part in a cabalgata, sharing truly unique moments. The Charros have an exceptional and genuine sense of hospitality. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something enriching and out of the ordinary.
This was an amazing experience if you are in Guadalajara. The tour is more like an experience through the history of Charreria heritage and Mexican culture in a really fun and engaging way. You have the opportunity to take part in Charro activities which I never thought I’d get to do or be good at but also so much fun. The horses are beautiful and you learn about them too. What’s not to like! If you are looking for culture, warm local hospitality and genuine Guadalajara experience then this is for you! I loved it so much I went back the next day for more. I did a tour with the Entre Charros group and had such a great time! There were about 18 people in the group, and I was the only one who spoke English — but the guides were awesome and made sure to repeat everything for me in English. We got to learn how to tie a lasso, hear about the history of charros, and watch a rodeo. It was such a fun way to experience the culture, and I walked away learning so much. Definitely a tour I’d recommend!

Jorge and marco were incredible hosts, knowledgeable, passionate, friendly, and professional. This was more bang for the buck than I expected.
This was the best experience I could have ever asked for. I arrived as a solo female traveler and met Jorge and Marco which gave us a more than a tour. It was a fully immersive charro experience with rich history and culture. They welcomed me with open arms and made me feel safe. So much so, that I went back everyday during my week in Guadalajara and took private riding lessons with Marco. Marco is very knowledgeable, loves horses, and is a wonderful teacher and friend. I came in as a solo tourist visiting my family’s home town, and left with an extended family and new view on life.
Jorge was amazing! The history of Charros/Charras and how they came to be was incredible. The horses were beautiful and roping with a lasso was a lot of fun. I HIGHLY recommend this adventure. I would do it over again and ask if I could spend time there helping out if I lived locally.

Jorge our guide went above and beyond to provide a truly authentic Mexican cultural experience. His intimate musical performance at the end and the Charreada competition were some highlights of this perfect day in Guadalajara.
Awesome tour! Marco and Mateo did an excellent job, they don't only explain the history and customs of charros, they also let you try it, first with a wooden bull and then with a real one (a well-trained one). Definitely worth it!

My friend and I took this tour in March '25 - what a fabulous experience! Our two guides, Jorge & Marco were superb! We were the only English speaking pair in our group (of about 15) and they catered for us brilliantly - both translating everything for us. They were friendly and approachable and answered every question we had. The tour itself included a talk on the history, a go with the lasso, and a ride on a horse - and of course - Tequila!! We took the tour on a Sunday - this must be the best day as it included a cherraria competition! Jorge explained every part of the competition so we knew what was happening. If you're in Guadalajara - we highly recommend you take this tour!!!
This was a fantastic way to experience some authentic traditions of Mexico. I won’t repeat all the other reviews except to say all of the compliments are true and it is most definitely worth your time. My only feedback is that it wasn’t clear (to me at least) that the tour package did not include return transport to our hotel. Looking back, I see it is mentioned in the description but it also says “activity ends back at the meeting point” so it was a surprise when our driver left us there. However, we had no problem getting an Uber afterward and it was no big deal at all. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience! Having the opportunity to learn the history of the Charro, practice with a lasso and ride horseback in the arena where Charros compete was an experience that will stay with me forever. Highly recommend if you have an interest in deeply-rooted cultural experiences or just wish to spend some time with horses :)
The experience was very nice from start to finish. It started with us getting picked up at our Airbnb which I will admit was a little scary at first but our driver was nothing but nice. We were then taken to Charros de Jalisco where we got to be a charro for a day. We learned how ride a horse like a charro, how to use a lasso, and got to experience our very first charreada and Jorge the charro, even sang to us and gave us tequila. We would definitely recommend anyone to experience this tour at least once.
We were a group of 4. All well traveled and all agree that this tour was one of the very best we've ever taken. Jorge was superb. We learned so much about the tradition of charreria. It was fun— Includes the opportunity to rope and ride and two very special surprises one only Jorge can provide. To say it was special is insufficient yet we have no other words. Don't miss this experience. As an aside were now planning to attend the Charreria on Sunday. Were hooked!

An experience like no other! I learned a lot about the history of Charros, got to practice lassoing (don’t know if that’s a word) a horse, made friends with other tourists over tequila tasting and listening to wonderful story of Jorge our tour guide while he played guitar and sang. ❤️
