We would 100% recommend the tour to the legendary Casa Herradura in Amatitán Jalisco. By far, one of the best tours we’ve ever done… we learned so much about the history of the old Hacienda del Refugio and the delicious tradition of this amazing elixir… starting with a beautiful sight of the old Hacienda, visited the beautiful agave fields… walked through the amazing smelling ovens baking the beautiful and delicious sweet “piñas”… witnessed the fascinating process of elaboration and bottling… and, visited the gorgeous old factory… which makes you appreciate the process and end-product so much more… and, ended with a delicious tasting of some of their delicious tequilas! Big shout-out to our Herradura tour guide, Alonso, for making this an unforgettable experience. Alonso was very friendly, very knowledgeable, courteous, and funny. We learned so much and enjoyed the tour immensely! Thank you, Arturo, for making this happen… even though this wasn’t a normal tour for “Aventurate por Jalisco”, you made it possible. And, not if, but when we come back, we count on you to plan our next fun adventures! MIL GRACIAS!!

My wife and I traveled to Guadalajara and took the Herradura Hacienda tequila trip on March 4, 2026. Our guide Delfino and driver Fernando were excellent. The tour was very informative and we had a great time after visiting the Herradura Hacienda. We traveled to the town of tequila. We visited several of the tequila, factories there and had lunch. I would highly recommend this tour five stars.
My wife and I had an excellent experience on this tequila tour! Everything was perfectly on time, and our guide Delfino was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Since the tequila train only operates on Saturdays (and is exclusive to José Cuervo), we did the tour by vehicle, which actually turned out to be a great alternative—it allowed us to stop and take photos of the Tequila Volcano, which was a stunning sight. We visited the beautiful Hacienda Herradura, where Alonso gave us an in-depth explanation of the tequila production process, from harvesting the agave to fermentation and distillation. The tour ended with a tasting of Herradura Reposado, which was smooth and flavorful. It would have been nice to try one or two additional varieties, but overall the experience was top-notch. We wrapped up our day with a visit to the charming town of Tequila and enjoyed a delicious lunch (not included in the tour) at Tequilera Hacienda La Cofradía—highly recommended! This tour is a must-do if you're in Jalisco and want a deeper, more authentic look into the world of tequila.
Herradura guide was amazing, very enthusiastic which made us ask more questions...The driver was knowledgeable about the area as well...It was a few hours longer than booked... maybe due to traffic
Delfino gave us a great day as we toured Herradura and Tequila town. He obviously loves his job, and has much knowledge about the history of this area. He also drives skillfully, as traffic in Guadalajara can be congested at times. When we stopped for lunch, He even had the restaurant give us a wonderful surprise anniversary treat! You are going to love this tour and Delfino.
Excellent experience - great way to learn about tequila and enjoy incredible tequila in a very awesome place
Our Guide was great!!! Both our Guide and the Herradura House Guide also very professional. Lot of knowledge of the Tequila history
I had the best guide. The tequila tasting, history, views, and vibe on point. Please give this one a try.
Great way to spend our anniversary. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made this tour feel super unique. Every stop is filled with lots of fun and tequila.
100% recomendado. We had a great day on the tequila tour, I recommend that tour and I recommend that you ask Delfino for you tour Guide!! He was an excellent person who knew how to explain everything to us in great detail! Not everyone knows so much about every place and thing! Super friendly and cool boy!!
My friend and I were looking to pass the day, see some of the surrounding areas around Guadalajara, and learn a little about Tequila in the process without a big group tour experience or hokey tourist trap. This fit the bill perfectly! Thanks to COVID, Herradura was closed but I am certain that this experience was all the better as a result. Our guide, Alejandro, was OUTSTANDING. He was very knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our many questions about Guadalajara and the tequila-making process. The tour consisted of just me and my buddy, which was great. El Último Agave and Hacienda de Oro were awesome experiences and both venues were quaint and beautiful. The tasting took place in a beautiful setting overlooking the agave fields and the people who were running it were amazing! Jazmín did an OUTSTANDING job giving her first tour in English and both Alejandro and Jazmín were kind enough to speak in both Spanish and English so that I could work on my Spanish and my buddy could still understand. We also were able to see the Sauza factory and eat a delicious lunch on their premises before wandering the streets of Tequila. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a genuine, authentic, and unique experience. El Último Agave/Hacienda de Oro were definitely the highlights and if you can pay a little for the private tour, it is well worth it!
My friend and I were looking to pass the day, see some new sights, and learn a little about tequila in the process. However, we wanted to steer clear of big tours and hokey tourist traps. This experience was awesome. Thanks to COVID, Herradura was closed but I am positive that this experience was all the better. It was a private tour with an AWESOME guide, Alejandro. Alejandro was very knowledgeable about the area and answered many of our questions about Guadalajara and the surrounding regions. El Último Agave and Haciendo de Oro were amazing. The scenery was fantastic and the tasting took place in two beautiful and unique locations. Jazmín was an outstanding guide at both of these locations and did a great job giving her first tour in English. Both Alejandro and Jazmín also we’re kind enough to speak in both Spanish and English so that I could practice my Spanish and my buddy could still understand. This was such a memorable experience. We also got to see the Sauza property and town of tequila. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a more authentic experience! Pay a little extra for the private tour, if possible.
This was a great tour... the guide spoke English really well... picked us up from our hotel... dropped us back off... great food... excellent tequila... excellent information...hands on experiences Would do it again and take friends
We had a great time with Alejandro. He knew so much history and pointed out wonderful sites. His English was great too. We would tour again with him.
Loved the tour and the food! Tour guide at Herradura was excellent. She knew her stuff. Very informative.
Really enjoyed the experiencie and the tour guide. If you are looking for something a little bit off the beaten track, this is the tour you are looking for...
Excellent tour, particularly the Herradura tour. Our driver, Manuel, was fine but nothing too special, but we had a different guide for the distillery who was great. The town of Tequila was very cool as well and glad we got to spend some time there. Highly recommend overall.
Great tour, very small group. Our guide gave us a lot of information about Guadalajara, the history of tequila making, and some recommendations. He was spot on.
It was a very educational yet entertaining tour. The lunch and walk around Tequila was not needed. Just the tour in the Casa Herradura sufficed. Great tour guide. Answered all our questions - a lot of knowledge.
A very interesting experience and a good guide. You can see old tools in a little museum hall, the processes and installations in the factory.
We had a wonderful day and I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour, and especially Arturo, the guide. We especially liked the Hacienda visit - the hacienda referred to in the event title is actually the distillery that makes Herradura and El Jimador tequilas. The tour was well paced and included walking in the town as well as 3 distilleries. Arturo knows seamingly everyone in Tequila and was able to talk our way into a museum that was closed. Consider requesting a private tour, as it lets you come and go when you're ready.
We booked the full day Tequila tour including Hacienda San Jose del Refugio directly through Aventurate pot Jalisco. Their website is currently all in Spanish but Arturo responded promptly in English to answer questions with booking. Tours can also be booked in English through Viator. As luck would have it, Arturo was also the guide for our tour. We were the only passengers scheduled and ended up with a private tour. First stop was in Amatitan to Casa Herradura to tour their facility, the antique factory and of course tequila tasting. We moved on to the town of Tequila where we did a driving tour of sights in town and stopped at the historic washing area. Arturo provided great stories and historical informaton throughout the tour. Another tequila tasting was done at a very small distillery, one of the oldest in town. We then made a stop at Casa Sauza to view their grounds & hacienda and then did a short walking tour of the main town plaza area including the church & Jose Cuervo. We drove just outside of town to La Cofradia distillery and hotel complex for a delicious lunch in their award winning and historic underground restaurant followed by yet another tasting. We were provided drinks, beer & water, throughout the tour and Arturo made a stop on the way back at a great roadside bar with gorgeous views of the mountains & agave fields. This was a very thorough and well planned tour to Tequila country and made a great day trip from Guadalajara.

This is a MUST when in Guadalajara. You will enjoy and learn a lot about Tequila. Absolutely an Excellent tour with an excellent tour guide.
Arturo, our tour guide, even made this trip so Magical...me and my boyfriend got ENGAGED!
Such a beautiful , unforgettable experience. Thank you so very much.

All around fantastic tour! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did the tour in both English and Spanish which was extremely helpful to everyone on the bus. All three distilleries were unique in their own way, the town of tequila is a site to behold in itself, and the lunch provided was fantastic! I highly recommend this to anyone interested in tequila, history, or both!

My Mom and I had a private tour a few weeks back. It was a weekday just before the holidays. Arturo picked us up at our hotel a little earlier than anticipated so already we thought, this is a good sign as we heard traffic could cause delays. We had so much fun with Arturo!! He was knowledgeable, fun, friendly and fielded all of our questions. He even made extra stops to show us the local carnitas and start of the San Andres Fault. And when our Herradura tour ran a little long, it was no problem for him, he continued the tour as planned, not rushing us, though I'm sure he had to make adjustments with the other tour operators. Lunch ended up being a bit late, which I had anticipated based on the itinerary. Our large breakfast filled us perfectly until the 4 pm lunch in the most spectacular underground restaurant I have seen. And we got to pick an item off of the extensive menu which was an unexpected surprise since the tour states you get a pre-selected item on weekdays. Throughout the day we tried so many tequilas (in very tiny cups) that we lost track. This is not a tour for people looking to drink a lot of tequila but rather, to learn about the history, technique and variety of tequila as well as learning about the history of the area. We couldn't have been happier.

We had a great time on this tour. We originally wanted to take the tequila train, but it was booked up, so we opted for this tour. Honestly I think it was better. We arrived at the hacienda before the mob on the train, and felt as though we were getting a private tour. Our guide took us the a fantastic underground restaurant for lunch. Our guide couldnt have been nicer or more knowledgeable. I think it worked out for the better. We had a great time, and it was quite a bit less expensive. I would recommend it to everyone.

We definitely enjoyed this tour. We were picked up on time at our hotel and proceeded to pick-up other passengers as we headed out of town. The City Tour of Tequila was interesting, the Tour Guides were informative and entertaining. We chose the Sunday tour because of other reviews we had read mentioning a buffet and the venue where it was offered. We were not disappointed, the venue was great and the food was very good.
Overall, the day was well spent and if someone has never experienced a Tequila Tour then this is money well spent.

This was by far one of the best tours I have ever done. The hacienda was BEAUTIFUL and the town of tequila was so cute. I have to say that Arturo was the BEST tour guide!! My mother was not feeling well during the tour and he went over and beyond to make her trip amazing and memorable. I am forever grateful that he did that for her. Gracias Arturo!

If you have time this is a must! Aurturo was our guide and was very knowledgeable about every where he took us. Lots of great history and lots of great things to do! Arturo made our trip very enjoyable, smooth and he was very attentive.

FUN! FUN! FUN! This tour is amazing. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to everyone. Guide Arturo is fantastic. He speaks English and is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. We first toured Casa Herradura and it is amazing. The tour included a Jimador demonstrating how they cut and shape the agave, a taste of the raw and roasted agave and concluded with a generous tequila tasting. The museum on the property is really fascinating. We then went to Tequila town and visited Sauza and Reyes Barajas. The town is pretty and quaint. We finished up at Tequila Cofradia for lunch in the Taverna. The restaurant is stunningly beautiful and the food was excellent... buffet all you can eat. The ceramics in the Cofradia gift shop are also stunning and beautiful. We took advantage of a great sale on tequila also.. made with the ceramic bottles is beautiful shapes and colors. If you are on the fence, dont be .. you will have a great time. .. see pics below.

This weather an amazing tour. We learned the history of and how tequila is made. We also discovered how to choose and consume tequila properly. Our guide Arturo and driver Manuel were knowledgeable and fun to tour with.

Would definitely recommend booking this tour! Everything was organized very well, and it was a fun/educational full day experience! They pick you up at the hotel and take care of you throughout the many stops. We did the option of a horseback ride through the agave fields which was beautiful, it is good to know that you won't be getting the tour of the second tequila factory but there is still time to explore the actual town of Tequila.

This all-inclusive tour was great - it was filled with so many fun activities and had snacks and drinks in the van. I personally did not get physically tired since we had comfortable transportation to each site. Our tour guide Arturo was knowledgeable and kind. Muchas gracias, Arturo! Nos la pasamos muy muy bien.

I highly recommend this tour! My husband and I were picked up directly from our hotel, toured the beautiful Casa Herradura, the town of tequila, and had lunch in a beautiful underground restaurant. We had an English speaking guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Three different tequila tastings! This was a great way to spend the day, see beautiful sights, and drink tequila!

Overall we loved it a lot. We were expecting to be part of a tour group on a bus but we ended up being just the two of us plus our tour guide. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and we drove directly to Casa Herradura in Amatitlan. It was just as beautiful and interesting as the pictures on the website. My only complaint would be the entire tour was in Spanish so given my limited intermediate level understanding of the language, I really didn't get as much out of it as I would have liked. Normally I wouldn't have said anything because I was in Mexico, but we were given the option to choose the tour in English or Spanish so I was disappointed about this. The hacienda tour was separate from different tour guide from the rest of the tour so I'm still giving 5 stars because we had such a good time. Then we went to the town of Tequila and met the horses in the central square and rode them all the way to La Cofradia for lunch and more tequila tasting. It was really quite magical and the views were amazing. My horse got spooked by some dogs and started running through the town on our way to the agave fields, but looking back it added to the adventure and the tour guides did a good job getting the situation under control! Overall we loved it would do it again and recommend to others.

Highly recommended tour. Excelent Service and overall experiencia. Arturo was with us during the day. Aventurate por Jalisco, have very interesting activities.

The HERRADURA TEQUILA Distillery tour was beautiful and informative. The driver, Luis Manuel and the guide never really got her name did the minimum. Not very informative and what little information they did provide was not always accurate. But for a way to get from point A to point B, they did their job. The restaurant at the end before heading back to Guadalajara, La Tavernaa del Cofredor was worth the price of the tour all by itself!

Fher was an excellent guide, rating his passion for Tequila and Amatitán. It knows a lot and not only leaves you with the commercial version of the story, you also learn about the problems and challenges of the region with an unmatched humor. The tour of Hacienda Herradura is very complete and professional and less crowded than others better known as in Cuervo. Highly recommended.
Arturo y Alonso nos dieron tour espectacular, la hacienda, el proceso y el pueblo son maravillosos, muy recomendado todo
A first class tour, thank you Arturo and Pepe for such a good experience, not only very knowledgeable but also exceptional people.
An excellent recreational activity after a business event, Arturo's attention is very professional and pleasant, recommended and reliable to hire online.
