I like hotels where I am welcomed by a friendly staff, rooms that have character and space, an excellent breakfast buffet and lots of exploring within walking distance. The Schlosshotel not only meets all these preferences, it throws in some unsuspected extras at every corner. You will find a variety of artwork and sculptures throughout the hotel (pick a different table each morning for breakfast or at the bar at night to enjoy some). It takes a hint of alpinism to climb up to the pool that is artfully attached to the steep rock face above the hotel. The staff is friendly in a charming 20th century way. It is refreshing to find a hotel in which an actual key gives you access to the room or suite and to visit a front desk where friendly staff keeps that key for you until you return from your exploration of Graz. Your vehicle miraculously disappears when you don’t need it and reappears when you do. Who cares where they find space for it when you have a wonderful hotel and town to explore. We stayed at this hotel for four nights at the end of June as we were attending then Austrian Grand Prix. We arrived quite late at night due to flight cancellations and unforeseen circumstances in Frankfurt. Even though we were late the staff that greeted us upon arrival was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is very quirky and has all kinds of hallways and stairways leading the rooms. It can be a bit confusing but I guess it adds to the charm. Our room was clean and today and was perfect for our needs with one exception. There is a real lack of electrical outlets to plug in and charge electronics. The air conditioning was beyond a relief as we arrived and stayed during a heat wave. We did eat breakfast at the hotel each morning. It was quite expensive but it was very good. Lots of variety and the staff was always prompt in offering and providing coffee/drinks and always quick to offer freshly cooked items like eggs to your liking The service at this hotel was fantastic. We were always greeted kindly by staff when returning. They were always available if help was needed. The responded to requests quickly and were very helpful when offering suggestions on what to do and where to eat around town. The location was alright. It was very quiet walkable to the city center and all the restaurants and shops. We had a very pleasant stay and if we find ourselves in Graz again would stay here

I had an amazing stay. It truly stands out from my recent travel experiences with its calm atmosphere, elegant style, and subtle touch of history. The room was impeccably clean, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Every small detail felt thoughtfully designed to create a sense of comfort and appreciation for guests. I especially loved the artwork throughout the hotel and its contemporary artistic touches. The breakfast and service were outstanding. During my stay, the weather was very hot, so being able to enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool around midnight - accompanied by a beautiful view of Graz at night - felt absolutely divine. I highly recommend this hotel and would like to thank the team for making my first stay in Graz so unforgettable.

We travel extensively across European cities and usually stay in 4- and 5-star hotels. Most of the time, we receive exactly what we expect. However, every now and then, we come across a place that truly stands out—and this hotel is one of those rare exceptions. We received far more than we expected. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were impeccably clean, and the staff provided service of the highest standard, making our stay exceptionally comfortable. What impressed me the most was that my bicycle was ready and waiting for me at 5:00 a.m., despite such an unusual hour. This level of attention to detail and genuine care for guests is something truly special. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. You can feel confident about your stay here—the team goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome and well looked after.
