So much fun feeding & holding the stingrays. The cruise back with the sunset was just beautiful! The staff was first rate--so helpful with the stingrays and taking photos for us. Highly recommend adding this adventure to your visit to Cayman!
My wife and I have visited the Cayman Islands four times previously, and this year we decided to bring my two nephews to celebrate one of their high school graduations. This was their first trip to any Caribbean island, so we wanted to expose them to as many new experiences as possible. Despite all of our previous trips to Cayman, we had never been to Stingray City. My wife is adventurous in many ways, but swimming with stingrays was definitely not one of them! This time, we decided to give it a try, and we’re so glad we did. Captain Justin and Derek were awesome and made us feel welcome immediately. The boat ride out to the Stingray City sandbar was smooth and took about 30 minutes. Once we arrived and anchored, it was clear how experienced and comfortable Derek was with the stingrays. He handled several of them and took the time to show us how to safely interact with them. We had the opportunity to feed, hold, and even kiss the stingrays! My nephews were a little nervous at first, which was understandable, but after about 10–15 minutes, they became much more comfortable and had an absolute blast. One thing to be prepared for is the water and waves at the sandbar. The waves were breaking over the sandbar during our visit and could definitely catch you off guard at times, but it was all part of the experience. Overall, the excursion lasted about two hours and was one of the highlights of our trip. After four previous visits to Cayman, I’m glad we finally experienced Stingray City—and even happier that we got to experience it for the first time with my nephews. I would absolutely recommend this excursion, especially for families or anyone visiting Cayman who wants a memorable experience. Captain Justin and Derek made the entire trip fun, comfortable, and something we’ll definitely remember.
Perfect time of day to visit..you have a private experience with the stingrays! Great crew! Highly recommended
Most amazing Stingray interactions! Held , fed, kissed, swam with the beautiful soft rays! Loved it! Boat was clean and comfortable. Not over crowded. Team was friendly, served cold drinks on board, took great photos of us in water (extra charge). Well worth it! I highly recommend Acquarius Sea Tours and the Buccaneer catamaran!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our experience with Aquarius Sea Tour was absolutely incredible from beginning to end! Captain Jason, Captain Junior, and Captain Ashley were phenomenal. They were patient, attentive, incredibly helpful, and their fun, welcoming personalities made the entire trip even more enjoyable. The tour exceeded every expectation. The scenery was breathtaking, the photos came out beautiful, and every moment felt well-organized and memorable. You can tell the crew genuinely cares about making sure everyone has an amazing experience. I highly recommend Aquarius Sea Tour!10/10! If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure with an outstanding crew, this is the tour to book. We can’t wait to come back!
The Sting Rays Love us! Learned a lot about Grand Caymen on the boat cruise and crew members made sure we had enough time with the sting rays and photos.
True to the former reviews, this was the highlight of the trip for everyone in the family who wasn’t a scuba diver. And our scuba divers still said they LOVED it. Kids say: Watch out, they spit at you. (Actually really funny!) Everyone was so nice. (The entire crew was warm and friendly, helpful, kind to all personalities.) They won’t sting you and the Ray that killed the croc hunter was a different kind of ray not found here.) You got to touch them and hold them. The entire staff was incredible. Couldn’t have had a better crew. The sailing didn’t exactly happen. There was no wind. We were given the opportunity to choose to try to sail back or stay longer with the rays and motor back. We chose to stay longer. We were the only boat left, enjoying the gorgeous view with these beautiful creatures and kind people. We were the only ones with kids on this trip. I picked this trip because I heard the star fish beach was overrated as well as the reef. However, I was told later the snorkeling is cool out so far by other tourists on the island. So probably either is good for most if you want to cram it all in. Also I have some kids that sometimes can be overwhelmed with lots of craziness. This was just right. Maybe other trips wouldn’t have an issue anyway because each boat puts you in a circle at first. One woman was afraid and stayed on the boat the whole time. If you have someone who needs calm, the boat was spacious without too many people and no crammed spaces. There is a bathroom that’s clean. There’s shade if wanted. There is a photographer. It’s $10/ pic or $40 for all she takes of your family. It’s a point and shoot but the pics are great. I couldn’t have left my camera on board! If you are worried about animal welfare, there is an article questioning this industry. But out of all the animal encounters on the island (other than scuba and snorkeling), this one seems the kindest. The animals are free. They can participate or not. They are free to swim off or keep coming back. Granted, great incentives to stay! It gets slightly crazy when trying to feed them. The handlers hold the animals that are so eager to eat the food out of someone’s hand. But it’s to keep from too much crazy and a tourist probably doing something stupid. Then the animals swim. They will snuggle into outstretched arms. I may be reading the behavior incorrectly but they appear calm and relaxed. I’d do this again if we came back and the kids wanted it. If you are debating between this and bioilluminsence trip, I’m happy we chose this. It’s going to be a win guaranteed. It was. Perfect last night. Play with animals (sensory happy and animals). And gorgeous time of day, sail boat, sunset. I loved it. Bring cash for tips or you can when you pay for the pics. You can bring a change of clothes or just stay in your suit. You will want sunblock. We brought masks and snorkels. My crew was happy about that. None of my family got seasick. One tends to. I think that one took a motion sickness pill before hand for good measure. No shoes on boat per law of the country when interacting with sting rays. So don’t think too much about that. That’s everything I would have wanted to know. And yes, it’s expensive when you have a larger group. But I’m so happy we did this. And I couldn’t be happier with the staff and company.
It was such a marvelous experience. The boat and the crew were excellent!! They had such great knowledge about the sting rays and provided us with great advice on how to handle them
This is the best experience I’ve had in my life!! We booked last minute, I was so unsure about swimming in the sea with my 1 year old son. The crew, Jason, Junior and Ashley were great! 10/10 I will be booking again, they take your pictures and capture everything!
This was a really good cruise where the captain and staff made sure we interacted with the stingrays and took pictures. I would do it again.
The sunset catamaran Stingray City excursion was very good. The crew was polite and helpful. The in water experience was amazing. Our day was at high tide, so it was more wavy-surgy, but the stingrays did not care. The stingrays were plentiful, not threatening and fun to take pictures of. The crew was helpful with capturing the experience and ensuring everyone was safe.
The guides were all helpful, friendly and incredible with the stingrays. This was a unique experience with a few interesting surprises!
Love how interactive the experience was. The staff was very friendly, interactive and helpful. 10/10 recommend.
The crew was professional and so kind! On the Buccaneer it was a beautiful sunset and the stingrays were amazing! The crew made sure we each had an opportunity to feed pet and hold the stingrays!
The crew, Poncho, Jason, and Junior, made it so fun! They took care of everyone. There were a couple of nervous people in our group, and they made them feel at ease. The stingrays were delightful! I highly recommend this experience!
Great experience, captain and crew were awesome. Before sunset there were much less people at stingray city which made it more enjoyable.
The boat itself was huge, spacious, and exceptionally clean, making the entire trip very comfortable. What truly stood out, however, was the crew. The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive throughout the excursion. They made everyone feel welcome and ensured that guests were well taken care of from start to finish. Their positive attitude and excellent service started at check in on land. The first point of contact was funny, friendly and personable. The crew on board had our safety as their number one priority. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-run outing on the water!
The crew was fantastic..very knowledgeable..had a great time..they interacted and jokes around with everyone.
This was the most perfect excursion. Sting ray city at the time wasn’t crowded. The sunset on the boat was beautiful. The staff was so friendly and fun.
Loved the sunset cruise, simply amazing seeing all the stingrays interact with everyone. Calm waters, beautiful night, awesome crew!
Captain Jason, Kimme, & Junior made the experience one of a kind! The ride was smooth, the stingrays were amazing, and the sunset on the way back was unbelievable.
Crew was awesome! Went over and above to make the trip safe and memorable. Would highly recommend the buccaneer and its crew. You won’t be disappointed.
Bring your own beer, wine or whatever you like. We got to feed, hold and kiss the stingrays. The water was beautiful crystal clear and not cold.
Wonderful tour operator! So friendly and great and helpful with kids and babies! Highly recommend!
The day we went was windy. I am 5 ft tall and had to swim at times as the waves would go over my head. So if swimmers are shorter, have someone tall near them. You cannot always touch the bottom when the wind is rough.
Trip was great and crew was very helpful and pleasant
They guys were great the boat was nice and the sting rays excellent i would definitely recommend....Bravo
This was a great trip my grandkids loved seeing the stingrays. The crew was fantastic, they spent time with each guest letting feed, pet, and kiss the stingrays. It was a beautiful sunset.
Fantastic adventure seeing the stingrays & watching the sunset. Highly recommended. Bring a waterproof camera!
The stingray city portion of the trip was fantastic. We departed at 4pm and spent 45 minutes with the stingrays. The crew was very attentive and allowed you to interact with them. We then got back on the boat. They raised the sail and it felt like we weren’t moving for over an hour. There was no entertainment or even music and people were falling asleep waiting for the sunset. Overall I would not recommend this tour. I would go with just stingray city and possibly with a different operator.
Our guides made this an experience of a lifetime for my son. We hope to book a second outing soon.
The stingray experience was absolutely amazing. We had guides that dove in the water and went down to grab the stingrays for the best experience for us. Over and over again. They made sure we understood the animal and were able to have the best experience possible in an educational and humane manner. Bring your cash, because they don't have venmo for tips and they definitely deserved it.
We had a great time in this tour. The staff was incredible in making sure we had a good time; every person that wanted to interact with the stingrays had ample opportunities to safely hold and touch the animal. The slow & relaxing ride back, the wind filled the sails and we watched the magestic sunset. Thanks for everything.
Totally enjoyed swimming, holding and even kissed (7 years good luck🍀) the stingrays. Crew was a lot of fun. Lots of laughs. The “head” was not so great. No toilet paper, light, soap and running water. 1/2 a can of open cat food on back of toilet😳
The Stingray City Catamaran Sunset Tour in Grand Cayman is one of the island’s most memorable experiences, combining wildlife interaction, sailing, and a stunning Caribbean sunset into one relaxing adventure.
We loved it. Staff wonderful. Very informative! The stingrays were so soft & friendly. Loved holding them. Each person got special time by taking turns
Excellent excursion for the money. The workers were very polite and fun. The boat was not overcrowded and the experience is one to remember. The crew was available for pictures in the water with the stingrays, which was very nice to be able to purchase. And, they took our pictures on the boat with the sun setting in the background (free with our own cameras). We left at 1600 and returned after sunset. Such a fun and peaceful trip. It is a great trip for one or many -- young and old.
Amazing experience to enjoy!
So cool to swim with stingray and they are not captured. Just love us humans feeding them squid. Had to be over 20 of them just swimming around us and friendly too! Got to hold, kiss them. Amazing adventure!!
Lots of fun with the stingrays along with Captain Jason, Junior and Santos. They were great! The Buccaneer, Stingrays, and the Cayman Sunset, a perfect last night in Grand Cayman!
10/10 I would definitely do this again! Crew was great, stingray city was so fun! Great view of the sunset on the ride back!
The guides were awesome.they made sure all of us had a great experience.helped us with getting in and out of the boat
Amazing experience swimming with the sting rays and watching the sunset. The whole crew: Zack, Isaac, Junior were fun, friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks Guys!!
The sunset cruise to Stingray City was an amazing experience, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that everyone on board had a good time.
This was one of the best experiences on our trip! The staff was very nice and the stingrays were amazing! We got lots of our own pictures and videos but there were professional options as well. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience!
We had a wonderful experience with Acquarius. Jason and Santos were very helpful and considerate in ensuring everyone in our party of 7 had a safe and enjoyable experience. They took great care in boarding our mother who requires mobility assistance. They even checked in on her while the rest of us were in the water with the rays. Sunset tour was the perfect amount of time and s great time of day to visit.
Great price. Great experience. Great crew. But, maybe I missed "what to do in an emergency" and life jackets location. As well, the forward ladder and gaurdrail were not secured until halfway back.
The whole experience was super easy. Great trip clean boat. The guides were engaging knowledgeable and wanted us to have the best time we could. This is a must do if you’re in GC!!! Price was right too!!
Capt James and the crew were great. They provided a great experience with the stingray. They even stopped the boat to get my hat that flew off into the water! Highly recommended. .
