The best excursion I've ever been on. Something very unique and different than other excursions I've done. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the bee's and being able to take a sample of honey home was the absolute best. Highly recommend.

Itinerary
Travel to a private apiary and step into the world of beekeeping in this hands-on experience. After suiting up in full protective gear, you’ll open a live hive, observe thousands of bees at work, and learn how honey is produced. Guests can handle frames of bees, spot different members of the colony, and harvest a sample of fresh honey directly from the comb. I learned a lot and it was very hands on and interactive. We’re glad we did it!!
Outstanding experience!! We learned a ton and really enjoyed it! Great, educational and fun time. Small group was perfect.
Learned so much about beekeeping! It was a fascinating experience. A tiny bit tough to connect with the proprietor on the day of as he meets you with his truck by a gated roadway. There is no building. This is a hobby business which makes it all the more appealing. Do not miss!
Jamal was super, explained alot about bees that you wonder about but never realized. We were able to partake in honey collection and use of the smokers and why the bees were were swarming. My fiance and I really enjoyed this and would encourage this as a must do.
Such a cool and unique way to start our trip! It was awesome to get to do something that was a little bit unique so much from our tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and patient answered all of our questions. We got to see the bees, including the Queen be up close in personal. Highly recommend!
The Beekeeper Experience at Reegan’s Honey in Grand Cayman was absolutely amazing! It was educational, engaging, and truly unforgettable. Learning firsthand about the bees, the honey-making process, and the importance of beekeeping was fascinating, and everything was explained in a way that was easy to understand and fun. The passion and knowledge shared by Jamal made the experience even more special. Tasting the fresh honey straight from the source was the perfect highlight. This is a must-do experience in Grand Cayman—perfect for families, couples, and anyone who loves nature and authentic local experiences! 🐝🍯
This is one of the coolest and unique things to do when in Grand Cayman! The bees were so awesome and we learned a ton! Our guide who's also the owner of the apiary was amazing! Super knowledgeable and informative, taught us a lot and answers all the questions! We got to see the bees, interact with them, feed them water, as well as collect some honey! Definitely a highlight of our trip!
The guide was very knowledgeable & friendly - I learned a lot and it was very fun watching the different hives - definitely would recommend if you are looking for an excursion that is unique - the suits worked perfectly and I did not get stung at all
Fantastic off the beaten path authentic experience. We learned so much. Highly recommend this excursion especially for people who have been to the island before and are looking for something different. The honey is delish!
We had a wonderful time with Jamal and meeting his bees. He provided an amazing excursion walking us through the beekeeping process and we were able to collect and take home some honey. Thank you for an awesome and unique experience!
The tour guide Jamal makes it an interesting and fun experience. Our family of 4 included a 10 year old and a 6 year old. They were captivated the entire time, and my wife and I both found it super interesting. The bee keeper suits worked great, nobody got stung and it was comfortable the entire tour. Pay attention to the directions/location because you may have to tell your taxi how to get there 😊.
This was a fun and informative adventure that we all enjoyed. We all wore protective gear and were not stung by any bees. It was an adventure that we will remember.
Jamaal was really into his bees! It was a really cool experience for us, being used to running away from them! The suits and gloves worked well, and we got a small jar of honey collected right off the comb!! Small groups or a couple should do this, as he is running the whole show himself Also make sure your taxi calls him, a little hard to find, but absolutely great time! Thanks Jamaal!! Jim and Stacy
Unique experience for sure. Got to see a local honey maker doing his work and got up close and personal with the bees. Would recommend for a quick morning excursion that's not based on water conditions.
What experience? While I was driving I received a call literally 15 minutes before the tour was to start informing me they “ had a problem” and the tour was being cancelled. I asked if I could reschedule for another day and they said they would call if they had an opening. I never received a call. Don’t plan on this tour especially if you are trying to organize your vacation. Book something else!
This was an awesome experience. Jamal is very knowledgeable about the life of bees and beekeeping. We got to use a smoker and a scraper tool. We also got to collect our own small jar of fresh honey. Be prepared to walk through wet fields. You will also wear a bee suit for protection. Fantastic adventure!
This was a very interesting and unique experience! Jamaal was very nice and very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The suits made us feel very safe. I was nervous beforehand but I was fine. He had cold water for us as well. The location is off a main highway and you immediately see a gate. This is where the guide met us. Do not proceed further towards the red gate. It looks isolated and there isn’t a sign so it can beunsettling. But it is correct. I recommend this tour.
What a wonderful experience. We learned so much. I loved being so close to the bees. The honey tasted fabulous.
Tucked away in a special area, lays a quaint and exciting tour that left us excited about what we had just a oriented and grateful for the knowledge that was shared with us. Although the idea of visiting with the bees can be discouraging to some, I urge you as someone that no one would have thought I would have done this, to PLEASE do it. Learning about how many factors are involved in beekeeping mixed in with being safely involved, made this tour really an awesome adventure. Many thanks.
My boyfriend and I had a great time! Neither of us knew much about bees/beekeeping and were curious to see an apiary. Jamaal was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. Very hands-on experience, and felt very safe in the bee suits provided.
Definitely a highlight from our Cayman trip. Jamaal was prepared, on-time, and organized. It is a personalized tour with 2-4 people. The bee suits were very clean,, premium and we felt very comfortable during our experience. We felt like we were really helping by checking on the bees and feeding them. The fresh honey-lemonade was amazing! Jamaal was very knowledgeable, answered a ton of questions and had a very pleasant and kind demeanor. Would highly recommend if you are interested in learning how bees help our environment, how they make honey, or if you are looking for something different other than diving or laying on a beach. If you go, a couple of tips: The information is sent out ahead of time, but wear white socks (not black) and sneakers or hiking boots/shoes. You will be wearing leather gloves, so if you want to take photos/videos, you can use Siri/Google or you can set your phone to not lock, open the camera, and use the side buttons to take photos. The walking paths are rocky, so have good footwear. Don’t go by Reagan’s honey on Google. It’s different than the actual site with the bees. You will be emailed the location to go to and directions. It’s located in savannah, Cayman, about 15-25 minutes drive from seven mile beach. Take a taxi or rent a car.
My family and I enjoyed this not only informative but delicious tour. One of our favorite spots on the island. Cant wait to go back!!!!
I sent multiple emails, probably 6 in all. I started before I left the US and continued when I arrived. I am also a beekeeper and had a few questions about the adventure. Nothing special, I just wanted to communicate w/the folks before hand and let them know I wanted to discuss the uniqueness of beekeeping in the Cayman's during my visit, if possible. Never did receive a reply...
Would definitely recommend this tour if you visit the island. Jamaal has so much information and you can tell he loves doing this. We were lucky enough to have his wife on our tour. Even our kids enjoyed it. Only takes a couple hours and we’ll worth it.
Had a great apiary tour in March of 2019 -- got to see a different part of the island and mix it up vs just ocean and beach activities. Got this tour as a gift for my brother and sister-in-law and joined them for the tour to participate in the adventure. Jamaal picked us up at our lodging and answered tons of bee questions along the way as he brought us to his apiary. He's extremely knowledgeable and just generally a nice guy. It was really interesting to see the bee hives and get to scrape out honey into a small jar to take away. I'd highly recommend this trip and look forward to Jamaal continuing to grow the apiary!
Jamaal was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about bees. He answered all our questions and had a good sense of humor about it. The bees were fascinating to see up close, and the honey we tried was delicious. I’d recommend the tour to anyone interested. It’s a small but growing operation, and we had a great time.
We had an awesome time at this apiary! Jamaal and Chandra both were very accommodating, informative and fun. We learned about the suits (which thankfully are made for this climate aren’t hot at all!!) tools of the trade, and bee behaviors. We liked the refreshing beverages including some homemade lemonade! Very fun and very educational. The honey collection was a highlight and made for some great toast the next day. Delicious! Thanks guys for an amazing time! I highly recommend this trip as a must do in Cayman.
We really enjoyed this tour. Jamaal is a really nice, concerned and knowledgeable guy. Jamaal picked us up in a shopping center and drove us to the apiary in his pickup. The road to the apiary is pretty rough and the area of the apiary is a dumping ground so it wasn’t very picturesque but we were there to see the bees not the scenery. We went on a hot and humid summer day so it was pretty warm in the suits but Jamaal provided ice cold water and homemade lemonade. We interacted with two separate hives and loved watching the bees do their thing. Jamaal did a great job educating us about the bees and the inner workings of the hive. It was obvious Jamaal is a caring and concerned citizen who is passionate about the environment and the bees. Our favorite part was collecting the honey in a small jar to take home. The honey is delicious but we do wish we got to take more given the cost of the tour. Small quibble though. We highly recommend this tour to anyone of any age. We have two teenagers who both enjoyed the tour as well.
You absolutely MUST visit this bee apiary! It was undoubtedly the best experience adventure on dry land. Plus, if it's the right time of the year, you'll get a small jar of honey that you collected yourself. (YUM!)
Wow! That was so much fun! We learned a lot and didn't get stung. Jamaal is a great tour guide, he really knows his stuff and is passionate about sharing it. What a treat at the end when we got to scrape some fresh honey into a little jar to take and then had lemonade made with honey as a refreshment for the way back - it was delicious! This is a fun activity if you are looking to do something different. I would suggest going in the morning before it gets to hot.
This was my first time visiting a bee farm and wasn't sure what to expect. It was very educational as well as entertaining. We really enjoyed interacting with the bees while extracting honey from the hives for sample tasting. A lovely relaxing afternoon! The guide is very knowledgeable and passionate about bees. I would highly recommend participating in this tour!
Had the best time doing the tour with Reagan's Honey! 🐝 The experience started with viewing one of the hive frames in action through the looking glass where you could see the bees busily working away. We then were completely immersed in the art of bee keeping and honey making being able to put on bee suits and learn about the process of making delicious natural organic honey while visiting the hive site! Would highly recommend doing this tour!
