Build Your Private Charter: Snorkel, Stingrays, Or Bio

Our guide Mike was fabulous. Friendly and relaxed, totally in control and expert, but very laid back and flexible, letting us decide how we spent our time on the charter. Unfortunately we lost 1/2 hour of our 4 hour charter as the meeting up address supplied was incorrect. It was never at ‘18’ Forum Lane, but luckily I went for a walk and found Mike. Not his fault at all, sounded like a Tripadvisor error as he said they always say to meet by Agua restaurant on Forum Lane, 200 yards from 18. The trip itself was wonderful, the stingrays were stand out. Mike had personal names for many of them and with the help of squid food they were so tame and able to allow us to hold and feed. Magnificent! A decent snorkel over the reef, quickly viewed the starfish, before heading to the other-worldly bioluminescence bay. This was totally memorable to witness. Don’t forget bug spray after sunset! Mosquitos about.

Mike was such an awesome guide! Very knowledgeable, super friendly, and he even took us to a less crowded spot to see stingrays, and he had names for them 💕. 10 out of 10!!

Mike was awesome! He took us to more secluded spots where we were not surrounded by a ton of other tourists. He knew where to take us to give the best experience for our family. He was on time, courteous, his boat was clean and he taught us about the culture and history of the Cayman Islands. 100% would book again!

Despite windy conditions Captain Mike was still willing to give it a try if we were up for it. So glad we did! We saw starfish, stingrays and had delicious pizza and drinks on the beach at Kaibo.

We received the contact info from a neighborhood friend. It was the second of two phone numbers we received. Thank the Lord the first did not answer. The conversation I had with Roshaine was so pleasant. When I was done speaking with her, it made me feel better about people in general. She was so polite, helpful, respectful and simply such a nice person. Thank you Roshaine. This entire experience I compare to calling a good friend or neighbor and asking if they wanted to take their boat out that afternoon. We went out for three hours and it was so chill. We snorkeled at two spots and hit Stingray City. At SRC we did an off-beat spot. It was so simple and unique. We had our own little spot, amongst the larger groups at the site. Mike was great. He made it personal. The pickup location was so easy for us. We got picked up at Newlands Barcadere. It was an 8 minute drive. I'm sure they service everywhere, but this was so down to earth. Please give this company serious consideration for your first adventure, or one of the many you take. Again, it's like going out with a friend or neighbor...

Mike was great! He was very knowledgeable about the best places to see the classic wildlife (snorkeling, starfish, sting rays) and went out of his way to make it a memorable day for our family. Some of us were more adventurous than others, and he tailored the experience to everyone. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience on our private boat tour on Grand Cayman with Captain Mike and Cayboss Charters. There were weather concerns the day of our reservation and the office staff kept us informed and was very patient with all of our questions. We felt very safe even though it was a little windy. Starfish point was gorgeous! The water was so clear and we saw many starfish. There were also huge fish eating wings off the back of the gourmet pirate ship. Yes, a floating food truck. We then went to stingray city and had the most memorable experience! The rays were everywhere and many were huge. Captain Mike got in with us and the rays seemed to know him. There was a huge black female ray named Midnight that he said he has interacted with for over 20 years. A day we will never forget! We cannot recommend Cayboss and Captain Mike enough!

Mike was amazing! We were a group of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids). The trip was catered to what we wanted to do! He was so knowledgeable about everything we asked. While we were out, a storm started to brew and he was great keeping an eye on everything and making sure we were safe. He was also great and patient with the 2 grandmas that were with us!! We booked a 3 hour private tour with Cayboss and were thrilled with the tour. We went to sting ray city, star fish point and a quick stop at another snorkel spot. It was a great tour and we loved it. Our captain Mike was amazing! He is a very experienced and knowledgeable captain! He took us first to sting ray city where we could swim, hang out with, pet, and feed stingrays. Even took photos with them as well. After that took us to an amazing coral reef that was off the beaten path and was more of a local known spot and not a touristy spot. After that we enjoyed another coral reef to snorkel and an informative boat stroll through the mangroves. All in all this trip was amazing, we moved at our own pace, and was not rushed at all seeing all the things we wanted to see and do. 10/10 would highly recommend.

We had a great day with Captain Mike. Stingray City was awesome and Captain Mike helped ensure we had a lot of interaction with the Stingrays. He took us to a great snorkeling location and helped spot some turtles along the way. Nothing was rushed and itinerary and timing was flexible.

After doing much searching for the right boat tour, we decided to use Cayboss as we were wanting a smaller, more personalized experience. It could not have been more perfect! Capt Mike was knowledgeable, open to customizing our tour, and very hospitable. Amazing experience, if you’re thinking about it you should book! We did three tours, a daytime snorkel/stingray experience, a sunset cruise & bioluminescence Bay as well as fishing trip. Captain Mike was very professional, courteous & great with our kids (12 & 8). It’s an amazing way to experience the Caymans & tailor to what your family wants. We booked this to avoid crowds and to maximize what we could see and it did not disappoint! Captain Mike was great! He knew the island well and helped us choose what to do. We knew we wanted to do Stingray City and Starfish Point. We checked out Stingray City first and it wasn’t too crowded. He helped us feed them and hold them and explained a ton about the area!! We then headed to a great snorkeling spot!! After to Starfish Point. He also told us the food boat was best wings on the island and he was not wrong! Best wings I’ve ever had! We got to be on our own time with things which was nice. He was mindful of our return time to the boat (on a cruise) and really great with everything. Thanks for a fantastic excursion!!

Wonderful experience. Mike was very accommodating and helped us have a memorable time. I’m terrified of moving things and to enhance the Stingray city experience, he jumped in the water with us and held the stingrays showing us how to feed, touch and kiss them!! So much fun!

We had an incredible day on the water with Cayboss Charters. We snorkeled, went to Stingray City, Starfish point, did some reef fishing, stopped for a bite to eat, then Bioluminescence Bay. We could not have asked for anything better. We saw turtles as well on our way to Starfish point. We were never rushed, moved along at our speed. It was really nice having the boat to just our family of 5! I would highly recommend and we would definitely book with Cayboss again.

Booked a private tour for family of 5 which is about the same price as booking through the bigger tour boats at their per person rate and this way it’s just your family! Fast response time via email, patient as I changed time and date. Clean, beautiful boat and Captain Mike, born and raised on the island, is professional and helpful. Even my skittish in the water daughter loved every second of stingray city which was the highlight of our trip. Feeding and touching the stingray is amazing. Mike was also flexible with our itinerary, no time limit (within allotted total time) in any spot. I heard the big tour boats blowing horns when it was time to leave a spot. This way gives you freedom!

Great swim in Bioluminescent Bay. Capt Mike was super nice and hospitable, gave us a great explanation of everything. He took our family of 4 plus grandparents and a handicapped great aunt out on his boat. Super great communication in pulling it together. Highly recommend!

My son (18 year old) & I initially booked a day charter to snorkel & go to stingray city. We wanted a more personalized experience & Captain Mike did not disappoint but in fact went above & beyond! He threw out a fishing line, my son loves to fish, & my son reeled in a fish! We also saw turtles, swam with & interacted with the stingrays & snorkeled! Captain Mike is the man. He was kind, knowledgeable and fun. We had 6 adults & one 3 year old aboard the "Own Boss". Mike made sure our 3 year old was safe & had the time of her life. We went to Starfish Point then to a quieter spot to swim with the sting rays (away from the madness of Stingray City). It was a great move. I think Mike is a legit sting ray whisperer. The rays loved him. We held/kissed/and fed the majestic fish. We finished the day with some great snorkeling at a beautiful collection of reefs. All in all, it was a fantastic boat day. I would highly recommend, especially to families with kids.
