I visited from 8/22-8/29 and have stayed here the last three times I’ve visited the island and everything has always been great from the moment I walk in the door. Everyone on the staff has always been super friendly and welcoming but was also very helpful during an unexpected issue another guest had during my stay. A few have remembered me from the past which is a great feeling knowing how many people the staff interacts with on a yearly basis. Cant wait to be back.

We were looking forward to this quick (5 night l) getaway. When we checked in, Natalie at the front desk was so friendly, welcoming and warm that we anticipated that would be the experience for the duration of our stay. Boy were we in for a surprise! We proceeded to inquire about getting cabanas and the lady there was so RUDE. The first thing out of her mouth was, “the price is in Cayman dollars, not US dollars which is higher”. My husband and I were so disgusted with her attitude! The staff at this resort for the most part are not friendly, or welcoming. We ordered lunch at the beach daily and the nicest person we encountered was Shawn B. He took time to talk to us and he was so friendly and warm. Kirk at the front was also very nice, always had a pleasant disposition. The only reason we decided to stay here was the location and the beach which is superb. We had the oceanfront room which was more like a pool front room. If my ratings were based on the treatment from the staff at the beach or pool alone, this would be a 1 star rating. Natalie, Kirk, and Shawn B made our stay better. This was my second visit to grand Cayman and when we return, we will not be staying at the Westin.
This was my husband and I's first time in Grand Cayman. We are frequent visitors to the Caribbean, have been to many islands and stayed at many different hotel chains. This property was beautiful! Incredible beach, perfect location on SMB, great service and nice amenities. Unfortunately, it fell short on food taste, food quality & entertainment. Food & drinks were overpriced and underseasoned... salt & pepper go a long way. 🤦♀️ They offered salad with no dressing at their outdoor $25 buffet one night. I asked the gentlemen working the buffet for salad dressing and he said that they didn't bring him any and walked off... In addition, surprisingly small pool with super high pool stools that weren't useable.... there was an acoustic act in the lobby most nights and yoga on the beach, but that's it. The inside bar was also often understaffed... and all their drinks had plastic straws, even at the beach!!! Every caribbean island that we've ever been to either has no straws at all or paper straws. We were actually super surprised that a Marriott property had plastic straws in 2026... we saw them thrown on the beach a lot... have they not seen the turtle straw videos??? C'mon? Ughhhh! Disappointing... The Cayman islands are worth seeing once. This scenery is genuinely iconic. But go in with realistic expectations of what your money really buys you here.
I had a great experience here. Would absolutely return. Staff were great. They cleaned and replaced towels daily. The room we got looked fairly new. There was a balcony to enjoy the outdoors. I loved the buffet style breakfast with ample options including and Omlette bar and cut fruit. The beach was lovely. The water was calm and beautiful. There were ample beach chairs with umbrellas which is a must to avoid the sunburns. The water is clear and there are floats that you can lounge or jump from. I personally didn’t use the pool as I was at the beach mostly but the pools was very nice with swim up bar. There is an outdoor bar and seating as well. Music every night for 2 hours. We enjoyed the coffee shop inside as well. Overall great experience, great food, and great staff.
My daughter and I recently stayed at the Westin Grand Cayman while celebrating her 10th birthday, and overall we had a wonderful and memorable stay. One of the highlights was Liz at check-in. She was incredibly welcoming, acknowledged my elite status with a room upgrade, and went out of her way to recognize my daughter’s birthday. She arranged for a complimentary treat to be delivered to our room and, throughout our stay, made a point to say hello and greet my daughter as the “birthday girl.” Those small touches made a big impression. The service across the resort was consistently excellent. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to help. Even though the resort was quite busy, it never felt understaffed. The property itself is clean, well-maintained, updated, and, unlike some larger resorts, felt easy to navigate without being overwhelming. The location is also hard to beat. My only real criticism is the resort’s automatic 18% service charge, which is added to virtually everything, including simple takeout orders from the bar and coffee purchases. I have no problem tipping for good service—in fact, I generally tip generously—but I prefer when gratuities reflect the level and type of service received. Keeping the additional tip line on receipts after already adding a mandatory service charge can also create some confusion. There was also a large corporate group at the resort during our stay. To the property’s credit, they appeared to make a genuine effort to separate group activities from other guests, but the group’s presence still had a noticeable impact on common areas and some services. Overall, however, these were relatively minor drawbacks. The outstanding staff, excellent location, and well-maintained property made for a fantastic stay, and I would gladly return.
