Alhambra was beautiful, a lot of things to see and visit. Two and a half hours just enough for this experience with guide, and after you can walk and revisit some places in complex alone. The tour group was very easy to find and right on time. Great communication of directions pre-tour. Christina was a fabulous tour guide. We felt like we were immersed in the history and she really brought the history of the Alhambra to life. I would like to share some constructive feedback regarding the historical and cultural explanations provided during the Alhambra tour. As an Arab Muslim visitor, I felt uncomfortable and somewhat offended by the guide’s interpretation of certain Arabic inscriptions as “propaganda”. Many of these inscriptions contain the beautiful names of Allah and expressions acknowledging that glory, sovereignty and victory ultimately belong to God. These reflect important Islamic values, including humility, faith and the recognition that ultimate power belongs to God. While I appreciate that historical inscriptions may carry political as well as religious meanings, describing them primarily as propaganda, without acknowledging their spiritual significance, felt dismissive of an important part of Islamic heritage. I also noticed that the Arabic word “Hareem” حريم; was pronounced as “Haram”حرام;, despite the two words having entirely different meanings. I do not believe the guide necessarily intended any offence. However, as an Arab Muslim tourist, I would have appreciated a more balanced, culturally sensitive and historically accurate explanation. I hope this feedback will be received constructively and help improve the experience for future visitors from different cultural and religious backgrounds.

We had a fantastic tour with Christian. He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and seemed to really enjoy leading the tour.

We did a guided tour of the Alhambra with Kristina, and it was the highlight of our family trip to Granada. She is incredibly knowledgeable, almost like a historian. She explained the history, the architecture, and the stories behind every palace and garden so well that the whole family stayed interested from start to finish. This matters most because only a few spots have history or architecture information. Without her, we would have just seen beautiful buildings. With her, we understood them. Kristina is also funny, and her humor kept everyone giggling. She was very patient with all our questions and never rushed us, which matters when you travel with family. She was helpful throughout, from guiding us through the crowds to suggesting the best photo spots.

I tried to purchase tickets for Alhambra three weeks ago and they were sold out. I was coming to Granada just for that so I had no option but to look for outside tickets , I know they were expensive but it was worth it. Cristina was our guide and she was wonderful, felt like we were all friends. I saw many people on their own walking around and I was a glad I had Cristina to tell us the history of this wonderful place.

Juan was an excellent tour guide! Knowledgeable, kind, patient, and passionate tour guide. I would highly recommend him. Juan goes over and above the sites. He showed us the geographical layout of Granada and how Alhambra was strategic in defending. He also has excellent knowledge of the history of Christians, Muslims, and Jewish.

We had the most wonderful tour of the Alhambra with Juan, and I can't recommend him enough. He brought the whole palace to life — from the intricate details of the Nasrid Palaces and the Court of the Lions to the peaceful gardens of the Generalife, everything came with a story that made the history feel personal rather than like a textbook. What stood out most was his pacing: never rushed, never dragging, and he always seemed to know the quieter corners and the best photo spots away from the crowds. He answered every question with genuine enthusiasm (we had many!), and his knowledge of the Moorish history and the little details you'd walk right past on your own — the carved calligraphy, the symbolism in the tilework — completely changed how we saw the place. Visiting the Alhambra on your own is beautiful; visiting it with Juan is unforgettable. If you're deciding on a guide, book him — it was the highlight of our time in Granada.

We booked our Alhambra tour with Crown Tours through GetYourGuide two months in advance, only to be told the evening before that our tour had been cancelled. We had travelled all the way from Australia, while our friends had flown from America, making this an incredibly disappointing experience. We had also spent a considerable amount on travel and accommodation based around this booking. Despite receiving the cancellation notice, we still went to the designated meeting point at the scheduled time. To our surprise, the tour was still going ahead, but some customers had been cancelled. It appeared that the tour had been overbooked, leaving some people without the experience they had booked and paid for, despite making their reservations well in advance. When we spoke to the lady from Crown Tours, she indicated that this was a common occurrence, which was particularly concerning. Customers should be able to book a tour months ahead with confidence, knowing their reservation will be honoured. Being cancelled at the last minute after making significant travel plans is simply unacceptable. Overall, a very disappointing experience and certainly not the way we wanted to begin our visit to such an important historic site.
