Private Tour To The Alhambra With Nasrid Palaces In Granada

We have been to multiple destinations in Madrid, Barcelona, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Córdoba, Seville and today Granada and have done multiple tours and by far Juanjo (JJ) was our best tour guide. I highly recommend him as your tour guide. The price is a little more than others, but the experience that JJ will give you is priceless! He was an awesome tour guide and passionate about the history of the region and his hometown and made us feel very welcome!

Our guide JJ was outstanding. He is a local with fabulous knowledge of the Alhambra. He knew how to manage around the crowds and provide us the best experience. He walked at our pace and was so considerate of my wife’s bad knee. He had wonderful stories and knew the history of Alhambra. He is a must if you tour Alhambra.

Francisco was great and took his time showing us around. He knew how to navigate the crowds and was very knowledgeable about Alhambra and the history of the region. He was also a great photographer for some nice group shots of our family!

Juanjo deserves 10 Stars!! What an absolutely amazing tour guide. Knowledgeable of history, art and religion as they intersect at the Alhambra. Juanjo was engaging, humerous and answered numerous questions patiently. You could not have a better guide or better experience. We took the early 830am (early October) tour and so glad we did. We were able to escape the crowds and linger at many points. I highly recommend this tour and especially our guide Juanjo.

Our tour guide Juanjo was very outgoing in pre-coordinating the tour and adjusting to maximize the Alhambra visit given the earthquakes the day before. His knowledge was deep and varied, so that your particular interests could be focused on. In our case, the historical perspective was most interesting. His love of the monument shone through and as visitors we got to experience some of that passion. I recommend Juanjo as your tour guide during your visit to Granada.

Our private tour was fabulous! Juanjo was amazing! He was a grand steward of history, absolutely able to answer all our questions in great detail. Fun to be around for 3 1/2 hours. Juanjo, though thorough in covering the history, architecture, botany, and culture of the Alhambra and Nasrid Palaces, he encouraged our questions. His knowledge is deep, his enthusiasm is infectious, and his command of English is admirable. Having a small private tour, he was able to move us around the crowds and suggest how to see the buildings from the best vantage points. Our group of 5 booked this private tour of the Alhambra only a couple weeks before our trip to Granada after we realized general admission tickets for the day we wanted to go were already sold out. We were all so happy that we ended up on this tour with Natalia - she is an absolutely fantastic guide who gave us so much more information about the Alhambra vs. if we had booked regular tickets and walked through the complex on our own. Natalia is very knowledgeable and was happy to answer all of our questions about the Alhambra and Granada/Spain in general. The tour also did not feel rushed at all. We really took our time at a comfortable pace. Our whole group would highly recommend Natalia to anyone looking for a private tour of the Alhambra!

JuanJo is friendly, ourgoing, and articulate, and an excellent guide very knowledgeable about many aspects of the Alhambra, history of course, and architecture, but also language, and mathematics, among others. The four hours went quickly and we learned a lot.

It’s at least a three hour experience that is well worth it. The site is very large and spectacular for its views, gardens, intricate architecture and cross cultural harmony. The staff and management of the entire property do an excellent job of maintaining the buildings and grounds and managing the large crowds. Our guide was friendly, well-educated, and knowledgeable about the property and its history.

Visiting la Alhambra is an amazing opportunity that deserves to be guided by the knowledge of a professional guide. We were very lucky to have Cristina as our tour guide to learn so many things about this magical place.

What an amazing tour we had today. It was a private tour with JJ whose knowledge of the Alhambra was extensive. We arrived early, which was a blessing because of the heat wave we were experiencing. He allowed us breaks for both the bathroom and snacks. Our recommendation is to definitely take a taxi up to the entrance as it is very steep with an narrow roads.

Juanjo is awesome. He’s a home grown dude from Granada who has been going to the Alhambra since he was a small child. This private tour was the way to do it. My wife and I went in the middle of the day so it was hot, but not too hot for us. The Alhambra is amazing and Juanjo is an amazing guide. We highly recommend, just please don’t touch anything, the staff work really hard to keep this wonder preserved for posterity.

Tourist tip: don’t touch the walls, art, tiles or anything you’re unsure of so that you don’t contribute to aging the Alhambra. When in doubt wear your backpack on the front and don’t lean on columns. Watching other tourists be disrespectful or unaware helped us learn quickly what not to do

Juanjo (JJ) is a superb tour guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the Alhambra, and it’s clear he’s also really passionate about its preservation. We had a full 3 hour tour of the site and he tailored it to things we asked about and were interested in. Cannot recommend highly enough.

By far one of the best private tours I have had anywhere in the world! Juanjo is so passionate and knowledgeable about the Alhambra, it brings the Alhambra to life. His tour was 3 hours but felt like 15 minutes because he engages you with every sentence. It is as if you were with an old friend and they were showing off their home. His college education coupled with the personal family history of the Alhambra, makes for an unparalleled experience. If 6 stars was available, he earned it. We made a new friend in Granada!! It was an amazing 3 hour tour through the old fortress and palaces within it, and the gardens at the end were pretty spectacular. Once our guide found us, the information from Noemi, our tour guide, was full of history and the explanations were clear which made it all the more interesting. It was well worth having a private tour because we were constantly asking questions! Views and photos came out great. I strongly recommend the (Alhambra) Parkia P1, P2, or P3 near the cemetery and a short walking distance from the ticket place. We arrived at 11:30 so P1 and P2 were full but lot P3 still had several spaces.

It is a given that you must tour the Alhambra if you come to Grenada. After the tour with Juanjo I would say it is absolutely important to get a good guide. We were traveling as a family of four (kids 15 and 12) and Jaunjo was truly incredible. The time flew by, his knowledge and energy were contagious for all four of us. He guided us in a way where we saw every site and it was so well organized, but also kept us away from the big crowds so it really felt more private. Juanjo is a local having grown up since he was a kid in Grenada and had great stories of visiting with his father, you could tell he was passionate about his town and the Alhambra. His knowledge on the smallest things brought the site to life for the four in our family. Even my daughters said the tour was one of their favorites of all time, and we travel abroad 2-3 times each year. Many times I do not write reviews, but in this case I would say this: 1. This is money very well spent as it is a magical, but large site to do on your own. 2. Juanjo was maybe the best guide we have ever had in terms of marrying knowledge and energy. 3. I think this tour would be worth it solo, as a couple, but especially for families who respect these sites and history and are curious. Cannot say enough about this tour truly.
