I am very glad to have had the opportunity to visit the Nasrid Palace and the entire complex. A wonderful experience.

Itinerary
On a rocky hill that is difficult to access, on the banks of the River Darro, protected by mountains and surrounded by woods, among the oldest quarters in the city, the Alhambra rises up like an imposing castle with reddish tones in its ramparts that prevent the outside world from seeing the delicate beauty they enclose. Originally designed as a military area, the Alhambra became the residence of royalty and of the court of Granada in the middle of the thirteenth century, after the establishment of the Nasrid kingdom and the construction of the first palace, by the founder king Mohammed ibn Yusuf ben Nasr, better known as Alhamar. The fortress became a citadel with high ramparts and defensive towers, which house two main areas: the military area, or Alcazaba, the barracks of the royal guard, and the medina or court city, the location of the famous Nasrid Palaces and the remains of the houses of noblemen and plebeians who lived there.
The Generalife is composed of a series of large gardens, where every corner holds a novelty and a pleasant surprise for the eyes, with a minimum of obtrusive buildings.
The Alcazaba plainly served a military function. The entrance to the Alcazaba was at the foot of the Tower of Homage . At the base of the tower is a slight slope. A simple L-shaped walkway keeps the main gate from being seen from the outside.
The habitual residence of the kings of Granada, their construction began at the beginning of the 14th century. The Nasrid Palaces are a palatial complex formed by three buildings: - The Mexuar is the oldest hall. It was employed for meetings between the ministers of the king and as a courtroom. - Next, we come to the Palace of Comares, which dates back to the era of Yusuf I. This dwelling was erected around the Patio de los Arrayanes (Courtyard of the Myrtles), and its side exits lead to the Sala de los Embajadores (Hall of Ambassadors) and the Sala de la Barca (Hall of the Boat). - The Palace of the Lions, dating back to the era of Muhammed V, is also a royal residence. It is composed of a central courtyard, the Courtyard of the Lions, and halls along each side, the Hall of the Mocarabes, the Hall of the Kings, the Hall of the Two Sisters, the Hall of the Ajimeces, leading on to the mirador Daraxa viewpoint, and the Hall of the Abencerrajes, along with the Harem

Excellent visit of Alhambra and Nasrid Palaces. We enjoyed the visit, as well as the meeting with the operator's staff. They were very friendly and helpful. Once inside the Alhambra we were confronted with quite a huge crowd. However, given the fact that you can easily adapth the length of the visit to your personal preferences makes it less cumbersome.
The Alhambra is all they say and more. Lots of history, magnificent palaces and such relaxing gardens. I would recommend it visit to anyone.
Ticket office staff very helpful. Alhambra routes easy to follow . Only problem was constantly having to show tickets and ID. Alhambra itself us spectaculor and worth visiting. Not easy if you cant climb steps though. Buy a ticket for the Nasrid Palace as that is the highlight.
Ticket pick up was reasonably easy to find although having a taxi made a difference. Staff were extremely helpful with site map and suggestions regarding use of time.
Our guided tour of the Alhambra was absolutely outstanding, largely thanks to our brilliant guide, Carlos. His knowledge was incredible, he seemed to know every detail about every corner, room and section of the palace and its grounds. Carlos brought the history of the Alhambra to life through fascinating stories and detailed explanations. His knowledge extended far beyond the palace itself, giving us a much deeper understanding of Granada and its rich history. If you are considering booking this tour, do not hesitate. Ask for Carlos if possible, you will leave with an in-depth understanding and genuine appreciation of both the Alhambra and Granada. Highly recommended!
Best audioguide of all the places I've visited in Spain so far.
I liked the easy access and self-pacing. I expect a personal guide would have provided more color, but this provided a good overview of the facts and history of the site.
The Map was not easy to read. Some of the tracks were closed. The price we paid was higher than it would be if we paid at the entrance directly. But still we enjoyed it very much. It is a lot to walk and good shoes are a must. As we were there it was 40 degrees but lots of possibilities to get water, even water fountains are on the path through the Alhambra. Overall a great experience for everyone.
Your partner or provider granavision was a scam! It was charging a lot for things and services we could not use unless you paid more!
The staff at the meeting point were great , polite, patient and well organized.. the setup for our timed visit to the Nasrid palace was perfect. It is entirely worthy !! but … We just didn’t enjoyed the audioguide. Unable to set it loud enough to cover the ambient noise . Also It was hard to follow / match where we were with the audioguide , because a lot of room looked the same… But personally, I would not take a fully guided tour with a group, that would be too painful for me .
Admission fee, flexibility in when taking the tour with little ones in tow were priceless!
Granada: Alhambra and Nasrid Palaces Ticket with Audioguide Granada Avoid this reseller. Buy official tickets for 22 euro including places. 1065856619 Don’t buy these reseller marked up tickets The official site sells an adult ticket for 22 euro including palaces. I’d highly recommend the palaces. Google this to get the official site (trip advisor blocks sharing links) alhambra-patronato.es The .org site that is the second hit on Google is 3-4x the actual price — which is about 22 euro in June 2026
The Alhambra is an absolutely stunning place and one of the highlights of our trip to Spain. The palaces, gardens, and incredible architecture are truly breathtaking. Everything inside the complex is well worth visiting, and we had an amazing experience once we got in. The only issue was the ticket collection process. We booked through Tripadvisor, with the tour operated by GRANAVISIÓN – Movviendo Tourism Group. The booking instructions were not clear that the tickets needed to be collected from the operator's office rather than the official Alhambra ticket office. We went to the Alhambra ticket office first and then had to find the operator's office, which was stressful and took extra time. Despite this inconvenience, the Alhambra itself is magnificent and absolutely worth visiting. Just make sure you know exactly where to collect your tickets before you go.
Very LONG day full of walking and lots of stairs and uneven walkways. Amazing areas to see and so much to learn about Andalucian culture and history. Our 9 & 11 year old granddaughters enjoyed seeing it- unfortunately we visited on one of the hottest days (100’F). Take plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, and wear good tennies or walking shoes. Areas to buys snacks, water, and souvenirs. We had been before about 16 years ago- much easier when we were younger😉.
We had a wonderful experience and enjoyed all the beautiful views and history.
Alhambra is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited, The Nazaris Palace is a WOW! Experience!
The audio guide was difficult to hear and we had to return it outside the gate by 1230. Vendor ticket got us in at appointed time.
Very good experience despite some of the other reviews I read. I think those are people who did not read the instructions clearly and did not spend the proper time researching how this type of ticket works so here it is the full explanation: - The Alhambra is a set of monuments all located in the same area but the whole complex is extremely big (3/4 hours to visit everything). - The Nasrid Palaces (Palacios Nazaries) are the key piece you need to see where the coolest stuff is. Because they are somewhat fragile they don't want too many people inside at the same time so they schedule visitors to enter at different times during the day. - Basically you book your voucher online ticket with Viator for a certain hour (let's say 9am), at 9am you go to the ticket office that is registered with Viator (Granavision as of May 2026) at the Alhambra, there someone will give you your physical printed ticket that you scan at the gates to enter and will explain to you the structure and map of the Alhambra but most importantly they will give you your scheduled time to enter the Nasrid Palaces (mine was at 10am). So no matter what at 10am you have to be at the Nasrid Palaces entrance with your ID card (the same you used to book the tickets), this is very important because personnel will check your ID card at every gate of the Alhambra (once you enter the first gate there are other ones) - Before 10am you can still see other sections of the Alhambra (usually the ticket office will tell you which ones are best to see in order for you to be at the Nasrid Palaces on time) - After you get out of the Nasrid palaces you can basically go in an out of the other Alhambra sections whenever you want throughout the day (Generalife, Medina, Alcazaba). - Check your e-mail regularly 24 hours before the day of the visit because if you booked with Viator at 2pm they might send you an e-mail saying that your entrance at the Nasrid Palaces is at 1pm so you need to be at the ticket office at 12:45pm to pick up your tickets and not miss your entrance at the Nasrid palaces. - Of course Viator will try to give you an entrance of the Nasrid Palaces at a time after the one on your voucher.
It's a scam. An entry to the Alhambra costs 22€. They sell you this ticket for 50€ for a supposed "guided tour" which is a pre-registered audio. It is absolutly not worth the almost 30€ extra. The alhambra remains gorgeous.
Alhambra is amazing, prepare to take memorable photos!
Thanks Carlos F great tour and great experience
Searched online everywhere for tickets that worked with our time available and finally found and confirmed for 1pm. Sadly, the day prior our tickets were changed to 5pm forcing us not be able to experience the entirety of Alhambra. Never make your tickets for the same day as your departure as we felt ripped off. All ticket times when I was searching which was 6 weeks earlier were for 5pm. Odd that we ended up in that time a lot regardless of what we were confirmed.
Book early when we arrived they said no spaces all week and this wasn’t busy season Viator booking was easy. You have to pick up tickets from customer servicesthen swap at ticket office which was a bit of a hassle but not too bad Remember your photo ID The place was amazing and walking at pace it still took us all of the day so ensure you have a morning slot. Some areas have more steps than others so those with restricted mobility won’t see everything but still great for everyone Everywhere was amazing but the central plaza with the lions has beautiful lighting for pictures The audio guide was good but it’s a bit tricky to orientate as there’s numbers on the guide but I only spotted a couple actually on or around buildings.
Andy was our guide when we toured the magnificent Alhambra. He was an excellent guide and so knowledgeable. He really elevated an already incredible experience.
If you miss out on the official tickets this seems to be the only option. It is not a guided tour but you do get access to an audio guide.
We made a special trip to Spain to visit the Alhambra. I booked this tour because it was highly rated. The day before our scheduled visit, I received a text with the QR code for our tickets. The day of our visit, I received an email a few hours before our scheduled tour to say our trip was cancelled. I contacted the tour company asking for a reason why it was cancelled. I never received a reply and it has been two weeks. We were meeting friends from the US who travelled a long distance for this experience. We were very disappointed. The Alhambra is booked several weeks in advance so it was too late to rebook with another tour company. I am still very upset by this cancellation and it ruined a big part of why we chose to visit this region of Spain.
The Alhambra was excellent and we are thrilled we went. Three things about doing it through Tripadvisor. First, the ticket office didn’t open until 8:15 and we were supposed to go in at 8:30. So, it was cutting it quite short. Second, they misprinted our tickets, so we had to explain each time we used the tickets (which you use repeatedly!). Finally, the audio guide was not helpful in telling you where to go next, and thus we missed places where the guide was supposed to give us information because we did not know where to go. However, overall the experience was good!
Make sure to arrive at Nasrid Pallace gate exactly on the ticket reserved time, or you will not be admitted. No excuses. Even a closed boarding gate at the airport may be exceptionally opened, but not Nasrid palace gates!
The attraction itself is a little extensive and long without options to drink or eat. The service from the tour provided was very good and audioguide tecnology was pretty good. My only suggestion will be to improve the audioguide system on how to identify the spots being described.
Since I didn’t book far enough in advance from the official Alhambra site, it was sold out. Thankfully you can purchase tickets from third-party providers. Our problem was the ticket simply said 9:00 am. There wasn’t any mention of when the timed entry for the Nasarid Palace would be. As it turns out, it was at 11:00 am. This wouldn’t have been a problem except we booked a tour guide (after seeing the audio guide was rated 2.5 stars). We told the tour guide our tickets were for 9:00 am, which he took to mean the entry to the palace was at that time. When we showed up with an 11:00 am timed entry it was a problem (which he solved). So, the it would be best to get a ticket that lets you know in advance what time you need to be at the palace. As a warning, go early to the entrance gate. We saw a family turned away because they were 1’ late. They had been standing in a long line to get in. Finally, we did not have any problem finding the place to pick up the tickets. Just use the link they send and follow it. Although they say they open at 8:00 am, they would not give us our tickets until 8:15 am. No idea why. No one else was there but us.
Needs to have better directions for moving around the attraction. The audio guides functioned very poorly. There were no marked locations as to where to listen to the specific numbered guide. It seemed really strange to have to show your passport every time you moved from one section to another.
Easy to book and collect. Visitor centre directly opposite entrance to Alhambra. Very professional. One major tip, download the app and use your own headphones as the volume on the audio device wasn’t great.
It was absolutely breathtaking and great to have the audio guide. Will recommend to anyone who visits Granada. In fact it's why we came to Granada!!!
In rain, the Alhambra is a lousy place to wait in lines... No place to sit inside, no place to eat/drink inside.
Alhambra itself lives up to its fame and hype, we spent 6 to 7 hrs in the complex, and visited all the attractions without rushing - the Nasrid Palace, Generalife Palace, Charles V Palace, the Alcazaba Fortress, and the overall sprawling manicured gardens. Buying the tickets on Trip Advisor has overheads - both in terms of price and effort. We paid 32 EUR for the normal 21 EUR direct ticket per person, so quite a markup. We had to exchange the voucher for an actual ticket - the Welcome Visitor Center was supposed to be open until 18:30, but when we reached there the previous day at 18:25, it was closed. Unfortunately, given the popularity of the Alhambra, via 3rd party was the only "guaranteed" option even 3 months in advance of our visit. The so called audio guide part of the Trip Advisor package is a publicly downloadable app (Basir Audio Guide de La Alhambra) on your phone, and for Nasrid Palace section you get a password based on your ticket - so be sure to have a smart phone with earphones per person.
Glad we didn’t visit in the heat as a lot of walking . Bus easily taken from Granada c30 or c 32 . We booked via top tours ( thought I had booked direct but didn’t matter ) audio guis good but mainly about architecture etc . Would have loved more history of ownership etc . Well organised . Bring passport .
Carlos was an excellent tour guide! He knew a lot and added great humor along the way. He even recited poetry from memory about the 12 lions. Had a great time!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the gardens and entire site. Beautiful architecture, mouldings and statues. Fantastic views over Granada.
Alhambra is a very interesting and picturesque place however there are too many people and my audio guide quality was poor especially the volume where it was difficult to hear the narrative. It would be possible to read but I guess that's not the point of an audio guide as it distracts from the presence. I advise you to check the volume of the audio guide before leaving the shop.
Its nice to visit, but definitely not worth the money. Audio was useless, there was no numbers to follow. Over rated in my opinion.
Our ticket time was changed from 10 am to 4 pm the day before so we had to make adjustments to our other planned activities. Also had difficulty finding the ticket supplier’s office space. The walk through was great as was the audio guide.
Excellent experience, good communication, good direction to start, easy app to load and use. Happily recommend for trip to Alhambra with audio guide
Purchasing the ticket was confusing as I assumed my entrance to the palace would be at 2pm. However, when I arrived to get the ticket it was apparently scheduled for 6pm. I couldn't do this as I had to return to the bus at 4.45pm.
We travelled 200km just for this tour, we had confirmed tickets and the operator cancelled on the day no explanation. We had no choice but to walk around the outside of The Alhambra- really disappointing as this was the only reason for our visit to Granada.
It was great having the app on our phones. Needed to temporarily switch off auto lock to prevent it stopping every 30 seconds. The entrance to the nasrid palaces was a time slot but after that could spend the rest of the day seeing the rest. We booked 11am for the palaces (collect the ticket and audio guide password at 10:30 tomorrow have time to walk to the palace entrance queue.
This was a truly excellent experience, the scale of the site was amazing. The audio guide added context and atmosphere. It showed a range of styles and cultures side by side. Absolutely beautiful architecture and attention to detail. The gardens and waterways are beautifully maintained. We spent about 4 hours visiting, a certain level of fitness is therefore required, especially to visit the towers but still okay to stay on the flat if required.
Well worth a visit. Entry ticket 10am but Nazrad palace entry not till 5pm. Not notified of late time prior to our arrival. Very disappointing as we couldn’t stay to visit
This place is beautiful. Amazing architecture, spectacular gardens. Repeated checking of passport and tickets annoying.
I would have given 5 stars but due to poor email communication with the provider I can only give 4 stars. The lady we dealt with at customer ticket pick up point was brilliant and very helpful. Alhambra was a fabulous place and would highly recommend this tour.
